Chapter 151 I'll Be Right Back

Mrs. Foster skeptically took the check from Sebastian.

Why was Jasper's name signed at the bottom?

"Yes."
Sebastian chuckled, "I came here today not only to pick up Adeline from work but also to return this ten-million-dollar check."

Mrs. Foster furrowed her brows and stared incredulously at the check in her hand, then glanced at Sebastian, "Is this the check Jasper compensated the famed artist, Sebastian, with? Are "

"yYou are...?"

"I am indeed Sebastian."

The man smiled warmly, "Additionally, ma'am, I'd like to clarify something. "

"That painting, worth millions, is still hanging in my study. I don't display my originals casually. "

"The one that got damaged was actually a replica."

Facing Mrs. Foster's astonished gaze, he continued to smile, "Mr. Foster's immediate gesture to write a ten-million-dollar check was quite grand, but I can't accept it."

Mrs. Foster was too shocked to speak.

Seizing the moment, Sebastian pressed, "I've returned the ten million. According to our earlier conversation, there's no need for Adeline to resign. Any other concerns?"

With her head lowered, staring at the check, Mrs. Foster was at a loss for words.

"That is..."

She bit her lip, "Then Adeline must apologize to my daughter-in-law Stella! "

"Even if it was a replica, she did it on purpose to upset Stella! "

"She should apologize! "

"She even injured my hand just now; she owes me an apology!"

"Apologize?"

Adeline crossed her arms, "The painting I damaged belongs to Sebastian, so if anyone's owed an apology, it's him. What does it have to do with Stella?"

"Besides."

The woman shot a cold glance at Mrs. Foster, "Besides, I didn't injure your hand just now. Even if I had, it'd be because you tore up my design sketches. "

"Shouldn't you be the one apologizing?"

Her words triggered a flash of intensity in Jasper's eyes, "Did Grandma , she damage d your design?"

"It’s been tTorn up completely."

Sebastian offered a gentle smile, "That sketch took Adeline an entire afternoon to draw."

His words tightened Jasper's brow with coldness.

He shot a frosty look at Adeline, "I'm asking you."

Adeline gave him a dismissive look, "Yes, your grandmother ruined my design."

"Don't talk about the force I just used not being enough to injure her. Even if I really did injure her, I don't feel I'm in the wrong, and I certainly won't apologize."
Mrs. Foster went pale at the words.

Jasper massaged his throbbing temples and gave Mrs. Foster a fleeting glance. "Apologize."

"Did you hear that? My grandson says you owe me an apology!"

Mrs. Foster, initially feeling guilty, found newfound confidence. "What about your painting? I felt hurt! Do you have any idea how much you'll have to pay?"

"Grandma, I'm telling you to apologize!"

Finally unable to contain his anger, Jasper shot back, "How many times have I told you to stop meddling in my affairs? "

"Adeline is currently working for me! "

"Destroying her work is no different than than if you had sat in your office and rippinged up my contract!"

Challenged, Mrs. Foster's guilt returned.

Yet, she pursed her lips in dissatisfaction, "Your contracts are worth millions. How can her designspaintings compare to that? "

"She's not Master Moon."

Sebastian, sitting beside her, chuckled. "Who says Adeline isn't?"

Under Mrs. Foster's shocked gaze, Sebastian lightly laughed, "You may not know this, but ."

"Adeline is actually Moon herself."

"The Foster Group isn't even worthy of hiring her. "

"She's doing us a favor by working here, and you treat her like an apprentice?"

Mrs. Foster's complexion turned even paler.

She stared blankly at Adeline, then at Jasper, "That's impossible!"

Ever since learning that the most prominent figure in jewelry design was Master Moon, Mrs. Foster had been trying to get her hands on some of heris work for prestige.

But Master Moon had announced heris retirement, and heris pieces were being auctioned at sky-high prices—prices Mrs. Foster was unwilling to pay.

And now, Sebastian was saying Adeline was Master Moon?

She couldn't believe it!

"How could it not be possible?"

Sebastian's lips curled into a smile. "If Adeline wasn't Moon, why would a renowned artist like me be friends with her?"

Mrs. Foster turned even palerwhiter.

She shivered as she glanced at Sebastian, "The designpainting I tore..."

"It wWas worth at least a million dollars."

Mrs. Foster's face turned ashenbecame the color of ash.

Judging by Jasper and Sebastian's demeanor, she was almost certain - Adeline really was Moon.

What would she do nowas she to do...?
Jasper glanced at her ashen face, lowered his eyes to pick up the phone, and dialed a number. "Come in and escort Mrs. Foster out."

After hanging up the phone, Scarlett, his secretary, carefully came in to help Mrs. Foster to her feet. "Grandma, let's go."

Mrs. Foster knew Jasper was trying to save her from further humiliationgiving her a way to save face.

She hurried to stand up. "Let's go, let's go. I'm done with these messes for good!"

Originally, Stella approached her with a set of jewelry from Master Moon as a gift, hoping she would take her side.

But now, instead of making a stand, she had only attracted trouble!

Watching Mrs. Foster's retreating figure, Jasper furrowed his brows. "From now on, please don't come to the office."

"It was your wife who asked me to come here."

Muttering under her breath, Mrs. Foster let Scarlett lead her away dejectedly.

Before leaving, she carefully slipped the ten-million-dollar check from Sebastian into her pocket.

"I'm sorry."

Once the office door closed, Jasper heaved a sigh and glanced at Adeline. "This situation was my grandmother's fault. "

"For the design deadline, I'll give you an extension of two days."

Adeline snorted coldly in response. "Aside from that, there's something else."

She took out her phone, finding the news piece Lucia showed her in the morning.

After a full day, the viewership had reached tens of millions.

"I have friends who follow this kind of news, and they said that without someone pushing it, it wouldn't have fermented so quickly in just one day."

"For yourmy employee's sake and Mrs. Foster's reputation, shouldn't you Mr. Foster look into it?"

"Of course, it's no problem if Mr. Foster chooses not to dig deeper; I can prove my innocence."

"I have surveillance footage from that time."

After saying that, she put away her phone. "I'll give Mr. Foster two hours to deal with the person behind the scenes."

"If it's not handled by then, I'll take care of it myself, and the one who'll be laughed at will be Mrs. Foster herself."

With those final words, she turned and left the room.

Seeing her leave, Sebastian quickly stood up, smiling at Jasper. "Mr. Foster, you'd better take care of it."

After his remark, he left to catch up with Adeline.

"ShouldDo we grab something to eat first or go straight to helping you move?"

"Let's get something to eat first."

Sitting in his office, Jasper watched them walk further away, their voices fading into the distance, his eyebrows knotting in frustration.
After a while, he lowered his head and stared at the news on his computer screen.

He had been tied up with work all day long.

If it hadn't been for Mrs. Foster's appearance, he wouldn't have even been aware of the news.

Sitting in his chair, the previous conversation with Mrs. Foster echoed in his ears:

"It's your wife who sent me over."

He squinted slightly.

Just then, Jasper's phone began to ring.

It was Stella calling.

"Jasper, it's time to clock out, right? When will you be back?"

The man's eyes turned cold as he shut down the computer, "I'll be home soon."
