Chapter 875 I'm Done Fighting With Her In Business

The piercing scream shattered Adeline's thoughts completely.

She looked up in shock at the hospital room behind her, eyes filled with uncertainty and confusion.

"Is Dad in there?"

She couldn't accept it, couldn't believe it.

Howard was in his fifties, almost sixty.

But that scream?

Oliver sighed, his crimson eyes glanced at Adeline with a bitter smile.

"He's having an episode."

"Without Mom's medication to suppress it, he turns into this."

He took a deep breath and opened the door to the hospital room.

Inside, Howard was wearing a striped hospital gown, sitting crazily in the corner of the room, clutching a blanket.

"Zara, Zara, I'm taking you home, I'm taking you home."

"Don't be afraid, we're going home now!"

"Get away! Don't touch my Zara!"

Adeline stared at the scene in shock, her eyes and nose starting to sting.

She hadn't expected this.

She had only been in jail for two days.

How could her perfectly fine father turn into a complete madman in just two days?

She raised her hand to cover her mouth, tears silently falling.

She turned to look at Oliver.

"How long has he been like this?"

"Since you were arrested, but it was on and off, never this crazy."

"But last night, while wandering around the house, he suddenly lost control and became like this."

Oliver sighed.

"The housekeeper said that after my biological mother passed away, Dad was like this."

"Back then, he called out for Esther. Now, it's Zara."

Oliver reached out and patted Adeline's shoulder comfortingly, his voice low.

"Mom always said that Esther was irreplaceable in Dad's heart."

"Dad was always cold and distant to her, but now it seems..."

"After more than twenty years together, she had become the most important person in Dad's heart. Otherwise, he wouldn't be calling her name now."

Adeline bit her lip, her nails digging into her palm.

If Mom were conscious now, she'd be happy to hear this, right?

No, maybe she wouldn't be happy.

Rather than knowing her place in Dad's heart, Mom would probably prefer Dad not to have these episodes and live a normal life, right?

After all, she had worked hard for over twenty years for that goal.

Thinking of this, Adeline closed her eyes and let out a bitter laugh.

"Have you tried seeing a psychiatrist?"

Oliver nodded.

"No one can help."

"He's a man of deep obsessions. Once something is etched in his heart, he can't forget it and will keep going mad."

Adeline let out a bitter laugh.

Maybe her deep emotions were inherited from Howard?

Seeing Adeline's unstoppable tears, Oliver sighed again and patted her shoulder.

"Everything will be okay."

"Mom will get better, and when she does, Dad will too."

"What we need to do now is protect the Phoebe family and wait for them to get better."

Adeline nodded through her tears.

As their children, she and Oliver couldn't do much more for their parents now.

If they couldn't even protect the Phoebe Group, who would they be letting down?

Thinking of this, Adeline took a deep breath and tightly grasped Oliver's arm.

"Oliver, don't worry."

"I won't get caught up in romantic feelings anymore."

Since Dad entrusted the Phoebe Group to them before his episode, she wouldn't let him down.

When Adeline left the hospital, Tamsin was still waiting in the car at the entrance.

She opened the car door and sat in the driver's seat, letting out a long breath.

"Where are we headed now?" Adeline asked.

"To your place to pack your things," Tamsin replied, barely looking up from her laptop. "Since you're now the president of the Phoebe Group and the head of the Phoebe family, you shouldn't be living in a small house in the suburbs."

Adeline was quiet for a moment, then nodded firmly. She had a lot to handle in the future, and living in the suburbs was inconvenient.

But when they arrived at her small house, she was shocked to see several excavators and many workers at the gate.

Adeline frowned at the large machinery and workers. "What's going on here?"

"Your status is now prestigious, and this place holds too many traces of your life," Tamsin said coldly. "After you move out, to avoid unnecessary trouble, this place needs to be demolished."

Adeline was stunned. She had lived here for almost a year. This place held many memories for her. Even her and Jasper's child was born here.

But now, just because she was moving out, the house had to be demolished?

She bit her lip. "Isn't this a bit much? Can't we just clean it out after I move?"

"No," Tamsin's voice remained cold and indifferent. "The decorations, renovations, and landscaping here all reflect your personal taste and habits, making it easy for people to find leverage."

Adeline frowned, unable to understand Tamsin's decision. She was silent for a moment before finally speaking. "But the house is perfectly fine... And it holds many of my memories."

Her words finally made Tamsin look up. She stared at Adeline. "Memories? What memories? Missing Jasper, or the cautious memories of your pregnancy?"

Adeline was taken aback, suddenly unsure how to respond.

Tamsin continued working, "Go pack your things. I'll help you select suitable servants and bodyguards to bring back to the old house. Those who aren't suitable will be dismissed on the spot. And your friends who live here, if they don't mind, they can come to the old house too."

Adeline sighed and got out of the car to pack her things. To her surprise, Sebastian and Linda were not there. The servants said Linda had been taken by David, and no one knew where Sebastian was.

Adeline had the servants pack their things and took her luggage back to the Phoebe family while trying to call them, but no matter what, she couldn't get through. In the end, she could only follow Tamsin into the car, full of frustration.

Not long after their car drove away, there was a loud rumbling sound behind them. Through the rearview mirror, Adeline clearly saw the small house being demolished.

She closed her eyes, feeling a strange pain in her heart. It was as if the structure she had built in her heart for Jasper was also being completely torn down.

At the Foster Manor.

Sebastian watched the news on TV. The news said that after being released from prison, Adeline had decided to reorganize the Phoebe Group and had demolished the small house she lived in, expressing her determination to never leave the Phoebe family again.

"Adeline actually demolished the house," he sighed and glanced at Jasper, who was working on the sofa. "It seems she's determined to fight you to the end."

Jasper's fingers paused slightly on the keyboard. After a moment, he smiled. "But I don't really want to fight anymore."
