Chapter 50 Let Me Think of a Solution
"It's not the right time yet." Jasper sighed lightly. "Lauren still can't do without her. We'll take our time with the maid replacement."
Ryan looked at his face.
Besides Miss Lauren, the one who can't do without Adeline should be the master himself.
It has been six years since madam left, and there hasn't been another woman by the master's side.
If madam were no longer alive, he would really think that Adeline would be a good choice.
Lauren likes her, and the master doesn't dislike her.
Ryan took a deep breath and reminded him, "Sir, don't forget, you still have to bring madam back."
Jasper looked up and gave him a smirk. "Are you teaching me how to do my job?"
The man's gaze was too cold. It sent shivers down Ryan's spine.
"I suddenly remembered that I should be off work."
With those words, the man left abruptly through the door.
The study door was closed once again.
Jasper sighed deeply as he glanced at the photos on the computer screen.
She disappeared after sending our daughter back.
Adeline, where are you?
How have you been? Why did you suddenly leave without saying goodbye and got into a car accident back then?
"Jasper, why do you suddenly have time to visit me?" The next morning, Grandma Foster sat on the sofa in the Foster family mansion. She smiled as she looked at the man sitting in front of her.
"Did someone say something to you?"
"Of course."
Jasper smiled faintly and took out the check from his pocket. He placed it on the coffee table and said, "Grandma is quite generous with her actions."
Grandma Foster glanced at the check on the table, and her face instantly turned pale.
She had probably anticipated that Jasper would come to see her today because of Adeline. However, she didn't expect Adeline to give this check to Jasper.
She chuckled awkwardly. "It's just... she seems important to you."
"A servant by my side really doesn't deserve this much money." Jasper looked at her, his voice ice cold. "She's just an ordinary maid. She's not that important to me. And even less so for you."
As he spoke, he pushed the check toward Grandma Foster. "I know you have more money than you can spend. If you really can't find a place to use it, I suggest you donate to charity. I don't want this kind of thing to happen again in the future, and you shouldn't be making these sneaky moves behind my back."
Jasper's cold words made Grandma Foster furrow her brows instantly. She glared at him while tapping her cane coldly. "Isn't it for your own good?"
"Besides having a prettier face than Molly, how is she better than Molly? You want to break off your engagement with Molly just for a lowly maid. As an elder, can't I intervene?" Grandma Foster switched to a more comfortable position. "Molly told me that you wanted to break off your engagement with her because of Adeline."
"Of course not!" Jasper sneered. "Molly is kind and sensible. Why would she come to you to complain?"
"She didn't complain! I had to dig it out of her during a long conversation before she told me that you wanted to break off the engagement. You were caught shopping with that maid by the reporters a few days ago, and now you want to break off the engagement with Molly. Isn't it because of her?"
Jasper smirked faintly. "Grandma, when did you become so cunning?"
Grandma Foster glared at him. "I've always been like this!"
"Alright, let's say you're cunning enough to connect the dots and come up with the idea of using one million dollars to get Adeline out of my life."
"But..." the man spoke seriously, "Grandma, listen carefully. Even if I didn't have Adeline, even if she takes this one million dollars and leaves, it won't affect my decision. So, save your money. It's useless."
After he finished speaking, he stood up and left.
"Jasper!"
Grandma Foster was fuming with rage. She grabbed a teacup from the coffee table and threw it toward him.
The teacup shattered at Jasper's feet, splashing tea on his trousers.
The man paused his steps, but he didn't turn around.
Gritting her teeth, Grandma Foster asked, "What do you want?"
"All those years ago, despite the objections of our entire family, you insisted on marrying Adeline. And what happened? She didn't give birth to a child for you in the two to three years she was here, and then she died in a car accident.
"After her death, the family arranged other women for you, but you didn't want any of them. You wanted Adeline's sister, Molly, to be your fiancée instead. It has been over five years, and now suddenly you want to break off the engagement with Molly! All I wanted was to hold a great-grandson. Is that so difficult?"
Jasper turned his head and glanced at Grandma Foster. "If you simply want to hold a great-grandson, your wish will come true. I have decided to end the engagement with Molly, so there's no need for you to exert yourself."
With that, he turned around and walked away.
Grandma Foster stood in place, fuming with anger.
Would her wish really come true?
For the past six years since Adeline's death, he hasn't touched a woman, and Molly, who sees herself as his fiancée, hasn't even been able to touch his bed!
Given all that, how could he give her a great-grandson?
The more Grandma Foster thought about it, the angrier she became.
The butler at her side handed her a mirror and said, "Don't be angry. It will only make you age faster."
Grandma Foster looked in the mirror and immediately noticed the necklace she was wearing around her neck.
Molly had given it to her and asked for help in dealing with that maid.
But not only had she failed to handle anything, she had also been warned by Jasper!
Thinking of this, Grandma Foster became even more upset.
She spent the entire morning in this state.
After taking a nap at noon, her mood had improved slightly. However, just as she got up, the maid knocked on the door and informed her, "Grandma Foster, Miss Collins is waiting for you downstairs."
Grandma Foster reluctantly went downstairs.
"Grandma!"
Upon hearing her footsteps, Molly stood up excitedly and said, "Grandma, what happened? I heard that Jasper came to the villa to see you this morning. What did he say to you?"
Grandma Foster sighed. "Molly, it's not that I don't want to help you. It's just that Jasper is too stubborn..."
"Grandma."
Before Grandma Foster finished speaking, Molly interrupted her and pulled out another box from behind her. "I brought another exquisite piece for you. It's from the same collection as the necklace you're wearing. Take a look. Do you like it?"
Grandma Foster glanced at the box in her hand and cleared her throat softly. "Let me think about it some more."
