Chapter 519 Wanting to Be Family with Her
When he saw Adeline hop into the car, Sebastian's face stayed as blank as a slate. He furrowed his brows, looking straight ahead, and muttered with a hint of disdain, "Bringing this woman into the car behind Molly's back, won't she be pissed?"
Bennett, sitting in the front passenger seat and looking all noble in his suit, shot him a glare. "Shut up."
Sebastian clammed up immediately.
Bennett continued, "If you don't say anything, I don't say anything, and Ruby doesn't say anything, how would she know?"
Propping his chin with one hand, Bennett glanced at Adeline through the rearview mirror. "You know who I am, right?"
Adeline, who was busy toweling off the rain from her hair, paused for a moment. She pursed her lips and looked up, meeting Bennett's clear eyes. "We met last time."
A hint of approval flickered on Bennett's face. "Not bad, you can actually tell me apart from your son."
As he spoke, Bennett crossed his arms and gave Adeline a once-over through the rearview mirror. "When I first saw a photo of your son, I almost thought I was losing my mind. How can there be two people who look so alike in this world?"
Adeline softly replied, "Yeah, how could it be? Unless they're twins."
"But isn't your son already a twin?" Bennett, ever sharp, remarked, "Your daughter is quite beautiful as well."
After that, he yawned and dropped the topic. "Where do you live? I'll have the driver take you home."
Adeline knew Bennett had completely forgotten about his siblings, so she didn't push it. "Blue Bay."
"Nice name." Bennett rubbed his temples and leaned back in the seat, having a shut-eye. "Sebastian, you know where Blue Bay is? Drive her home."
"Yes." Sebastian responded quietly and started the car.
From the hospital to Blue Bay, it was quiet in the car.
Adeline sat quietly in the back seat. She knew Bennett didn't remember the past at all now. If she kept bringing up family matters, it would only make him resentful.
The fact that Bennett had stopped the car in the heavy rain to let Ruby call her in and was now driving her home was already a big deal for her. She couldn't ask for more.
All the way, Adeline wiped the water from her head while stealing glances at the two men in the front seat through the rearview mirror.
She felt like she was dreaming. Sebastian was driving. Bennett was sitting in the front passenger seat. This was something she couldn't even dare to imagine half a month ago.
Nothing in the world was more exciting and thrilling than having the two people you cared about the most, whom you thought you had lost, reappear.
Half an hour later, the car pulled up at the entrance of Blue Bay.
Adeline opened the car door and was about to get out when she suddenly remembered something and turned to look at Bennett in the front passenger seat. "By the way, I haven't asked your name yet."
The little guy smiled charmingly. "My name is Liam."
Adeline was stunned.
If she remembered correctly, when Bennett first appeared, Vikram also said that the name on Bennett's hospital wristband was Liam.
Later, she and Vikram went through a lot to track down this Liam, only to find out he wasn't Bennett at all.
But now Bennett was saying his name was Liam?
Bennett asked, "Surprised that the Liam you were looking for in the hospital wasn't me?"
Seeing through Adeline's thoughts, Bennett smiled. "There are tons of people named Liam."
After that, he touched his chin and looked at the distant sky.
The rain had finally stopped, leaving the night sky clear and the air fresh.
Bennett stared into the distance. "I once asked why I had such a common name like Liam. I thought I should have a more meaningful name. It should be Bennett."
He shrugged, looking resigned. "But that idea got shot down. My family said a common name was enough."
Adeline looked at Bennett's forced smile, her heart aching.
Bennett. That was his original name!
Even though he had lost his memory, Bennett still held on to his name in his heart!
Adeline wanted to rush over and hug him, telling him that his original name was Bennett! But she couldn't.
Adeline knew it wasn't the right time.
She couldn't alert the enemy or make Bennett question and doubt his identity.
Otherwise, if Bennett clashed with Molly, everything would spiral out of control!
Adeline sniffed, "Liam is a nice name too. It's easy to catch and cute."
Bennett pouted. "I'm a man; why do I want to be cute?"
Then he seemed to think of something and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen, handing them to Adeline. "Leave your contact info. Let's be friends."
Adeline paused and quickly wrote down her name and number. "Okay, we're friends now. Goodbye."
Taking the paper and pen from Adeline, Bennett waved at her and closed the car door. "Sebastian, drive."
Sebastian nodded silently and started the car.
Adeline stood outside Blue Bay, watching the black Bentley drive away. Tears streamed down her face.
She didn't know whether to be sad that Bennett had forgotten everything or happy that he still had a good impression of her despite losing his memory. Otherwise, why would he have Ruby bring her into the car in the heavy rain?
Bennett was a sharp kid and should be well aware that the last time Molly had him impersonate Blake, it was because of her intense dislike for Adeline. But Bennett, out of kindness, still sent her home on a rainy night.
Adeline sniffed, watching the car become a small black dot in the distance. She took a deep breath, wiped her tears, and went home.
In the speeding Bentley, Bennett, with his eyes closed and arms crossed, leaned back in the leather seat like a proud and domineering CEO. "I got her contact info and name for you. Whether you can win her over is up to you."
Sebastian, who was driving, nodded silently, his voice as low as his posture. "Thank you."
Bennett waved his hand. "Sebastian, we've been through thick and thin together, no need to thank me."
Bennett sighed. "I quite like that woman. I want to be family with her."
