Chapter 265 How Dare You Hit Me

Jasper frowned and looked up, his eyes cold as ice. "What do you want, Adeline?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Adeline shot back. "I just want fairness."

Jasper sneered. "Adeline, I thought you knew when to quit."

"Quit?" Adeline laughed, meeting his gaze. "Mr. Foster, why should I?"

"When someone filmed my meeting, spread it online, accused me of plagiarism, and nearly ruined my career, did you ask them to stop?"

"When Mrs. Foster had my assistant, the person I trusted most, use her computer to frame me, did you ask her to stop?"

"Why should I stop? Why can't I find the real culprit when others harm me?"

Taking a deep breath, Adeline continued, "If you're biased and protective, I choose to resign and leave the Foster Group. Is that not allowed?"

Her words plunged the room into a silence so deep you could hear a pin drop.

Everyone had already guessed from Jasper's refusal to investigate Stella's computer to convict Anne with a lenient punishment hastily.

Stella was Jasper's wife. Even if she did something wrong, Jasper would protect her, and no one could do anything about it.

However, Adeline refused to accept this. The employees exchanged glances, enjoying the drama but not daring to speak.

Stella sat there, her face drained of color. During their time in Neon City, she schemed against Adeline with Morris around, and her responsibility was cleanly removed.

But this time, she had miscalculated. She hadn't expected Adeline to take this so seriously, even considering using a hacker to investigate the running log on her computer.

Instinctively, she glanced at Jasper, who closed his eyes slightly, looking somewhat resigned.

Finally, Jasper opened his eyes. "Ryan, open Stella's computer."

Ryan was taken aback. "Mr. Foster..."

Jasper nodded. "I can access the log."

Stella's face had lost all color, and Scarlett, who had been supporting Stella all along, quietly shrank back, trying to minimize her presence.

Under Adeline's icy gaze, Jasper placed his long fingers on the keyboard. Lines of black and white code scrolled continuously on the large screen in the meeting room.

Finally, the running log from Stella's computer the previous day was retrieved.

"The accounts logged into the computer are all regular accounts, no new users."

Based on the data displayed on the computer, Ryan took a deep breath and explained the letters on the screen: "Based on the frequency of these accounts, it is confirmed that Mrs. Foster used them."

"Mrs. Foster's account was the one logged into the video website at the time of the video upload."

The room erupted in shock. This statement directly confirmed that Stella had uploaded the video the previous day.

Stella's face was even paler than the wall behind her.

Ryan continued, "Mrs. Foster's computer did have software for automatic video uploads."

"The running time matches when the video was uploaded yesterday."

Jasper wearily pushed the keyboard away. "Stella, apologize."

Adeline was right. She was the victim and deserved justice.

Stella bit her lip, turning to Jasper. "Jasper..."

Jasper didn't even glance at her. "Apologize. You've really crossed a line this time."

Reluctantly, Stella stood up, walked over to Adeline, and bowed. "Adeline, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have uploaded the video or framed Anne."

Adeline's eyes narrowed as she looked at Stella. The sharp sound of a slap echoed through the room.

Stella's face burned with pain. She turned back, eyes wide with shock. "How dare you hit me?"

"That slap was for your father, Daniel," Adeline said, her voice barely containing her anger. "He's just an old man. If not for your instructions, would Daniel have sneaked into my office to take photos? If Brian hadn't issued that statement today, do you know he would be in jail? I'm hitting you for him!"

Stella clenched her teeth, wanting nothing more than to tear Adeline apart. What was Daniel to her? If it weren't for Daniel and Helen being somewhat useful, she wouldn't have spared them a second glance. And now, Adeline was hitting her for their sake!

Stella bit her lip, suppressing her hatred. She knew she couldn't afford to confront Adeline. Taking a deep breath, she covered her throbbing cheek. "Miss Wilson was right. I want to hit myself, too. Why can't I control my brainless father? I know they are reckless, so why would I let them come to the company to bring me lunch?"

After finishing, Stella squinted at Adeline. "Miss Wilson, don't worry. I won't let them come to the company. I'll send them back to Neon City to enjoy their retirement."

Adeline furrowed her brow, sensing a threat in Stella's words, and looked up at Stella again. All along, Adeline felt that Stella must be the sister Daniel had swapped out. But...

"That's enough," Jasper said, closing his eyes wearily. "Stella has apologized, and you've hit her. Let's call it done."

He picked up the ID badge Adeline had thrown on the table and handed it back to her. "Don't bring up resigning again," he said.

Adeline took the badge. "But there is one more thing," Adeline smirked. "How did Mrs. Foster have the audacity to film and release a video from the internal meeting of the design department? Everything discussed in internal meetings is confidential. As Mr. Foster's wife, how dare you to film the meeting?"

Stella let out a cold laugh. "Adeline, don't think you can plant everything on me just because I made a mistake. I did not film that video."
