Chapter 387 "She's right."

Adeline laughed, shifting to a more comfortable position in her chair. She glanced at Lucia lightly. "So what if he sees it?"

Adeline looked at Lucia's face with self-mockery, coldly smiling. "If he knows, will he punish his beloved Ms. Jones, or will he admit he was wrong to say he would fire Anne?"

Lucia was stunned. She knew that neither of the two scenarios Adeline mentioned was possible. Jasper would neither punish Luna nor admit he was wrong.

Still, Lucia remained unconvinced. "So, are we just going to let this go? Anne got burned so badly."

Adeline rubbed her temples, envisioning Anne's demeanor from earlier. She sighed. "I'll make Jasper pay for the medical expenses."

Unlike with Blake and Lauren, Adeline didn't argue because she never planned to let Jasper raise them. But Anne was different - Jasper cherished Luna, so he probably wouldn't want her sued over such a small matter, right?

Lucia sighed and glanced at the time. "It's lunchtime. Adeline, I'm planning to go to the hospital to see Anne. Do you want to come along?"

Adeline rubbed her aching temples, and agreed, "Let's go together."After all, Anne was targeted, framed, and burned by Luna just because Anne was Adeline's assistant, someone close to her.

Anne was hurt, and she had no reason not to visit her.

Lucia called Timothy to confirm which hospital Anne was in, then drove with Adeline to the hospital.

But what they didn't expect was that Anne and Luna were in the same hospital.

As soon as Adeline and Lucia entered the hospital, they saw Jasper bustling around, getting medicine for Luna, handing her water and pills.

Luna sat on the bench like a sweet and adorable princess, while Jasper was gentle and attentive to her like handsome butler.

He handed the medicine to Luna, then opened the cap of the bottled water and handed it to her.

Luna obediently took the medicine, drank a sip of water, and then sweetly looked up at Jasper and smiled. "I'm fine, no need to be so nervous. Didn't the doctor say it's just fluctuating emotions, nothing else."

Jasper lowered his eyes, , twisting the cap. "Right now, your health is the most important thing to me. I can't let anything happen to you."

Luna looked up at him, her eyes sparkling. "Jasper, thank you. You're the best man in the world to me."

Though she knew his kindness stemmed from Blake.

Luna squinted her eyes, glancing at Adeline and Lucia, who had just entered and noticed them.

'So what if it's fake? As long as I can stay by Jasper's side, sooner or later, it will become real!' Luna thought.

Thinking of this, Luna looked up at Jasper again. "Having you is the luckiest thing in my life!"

Jasper lowered his head, smiling faintly. He replied, "Meeting you is also a very lucky thing for me."

If it weren't for Luna, he really wouldn't know what to do about Blake's illness.

Adeline had already lost two children. He couldn't let Adeline lose Blake again.

"Can you hug me?" Luna bit her lip shyly and whispered in a voice only she and Jasper could hear. "I want to feel what it's like to be held in your arms."

Jasper was silent for a moment, but eventually, he extended his arms and held Luna.

He hadn't forgotten his promise to fulfill her needs, except sex, before she passed away.

From a distance, Lucia overheard their nauseating conversation and saw them embracing intimately, causing her to frown and shudder with revulsion.

"Mr. Foster's taste is really getting worse. What's so good about this Luna besides looking gentle? She's inferior to Adeline in every way!" Lucia was indignant. "What is Mr. Foster thinking?"

Adeline shrugged, moving her gaze away from Jasper and Luna, and walked briskly towards the elevator. "Don't compare me to Luna; she's not worthy."

Or maybe, she wasn't worthy. In Jasper's heart.

Lucia bit her lip, unwillingly glancing back at Jasper and Luna, then hurried to catch up. "Adeline, are you just giving up like this?" she probed.

Adeline pressed the up button, staring straight at the elevator's indicator numbers. "What am I giving up?"

Lucia said, "The chance to be with Mr. Foster!"

At this moment, the elevator opened. Adeline stepped back, waiting for the people inside to come out, then elegantly stepped in. "I never planned to be with Jasper."

She curved her lips into a smile, glanced at Lucia briefly, and said softly yet candidly, “He is unworthy of me.”

Lucia was at a loss for words.

She had thought of countless answers Adeline might give to this question. But she never thought Adeline would say Jasper wasn't worthy of her.

After a long time, Lucia finally came to her senses. "Yes, that's right! Mr. Foster isn't worthy of a woman as excellent as you!"

As soon as Lucia finished speaking, a hand reached into the closing elevator doors, forcing it to reopen.

Outside, Jasper stood with a dark expression, one hand blocking the elevator door, the other holding Luna's hand.

Lucia didn't notice the movement behind her and continued to flatter Adeline. "Adeline, you are truly the most excellent, independent, and beautiful woman I've ever met. Mr. Foster is really blind."

Before Lucia could finish, Adeline gave her a stern look. The atmosphere in the elevator appeared to turn somewhat uneasy.

Lucia bit her lip and cautiously turned around.Behind her, Jasper's expression indicated that he had heard everything Lucia had just said.

Lucia's face instantly turned pale. She stiffly extended her hand and greeted Jasper, "Hello, Mr. Foster."

Jasper ignored her, holding Luna's hand as they entered the elevator. "I was blind, not seeing Ms. Garcia."

Lucia was speechless.

Weren't Jasper and Luna just sitting on the bench in the lobby? How did they reach the elevator so quickly? She had badmouthed her boss and was overheard by him. Was she going to lose her job?

Thinking of this, Lucia bit her lip, desperately trying to salvage the situation. "That's not what I meant."

"I think Ms. Garcia is right." Luna held Jasper's hand, resting her head on his shoulder, her voice and smile gentle. "Ms.Wilson is indeed an independent, unique, and beautiful woman."

After saying this, she looked up at Jasper with attachment as she spoke, "Jasper, if it weren't for me being with you, I would really think you and Ms.Wilson are a good match."
