Chapter 361 I Accept Your Terms
"Alright," Adeline muttered.
She took a deep breath, her eyes turning icy as she glanced at Jasper. "Since you brought it up, fine, I'm in."
Not just Blake, but Lauren needed constant care now too.
Plus, she had to juggle Thomas's issues and Blake's illness.
Her old place at Willowcrest Terrace was way too cramped, totally not fit for long-term living.
Given the situation, Jasper's Blue Bay and what he offered were the best bet.
"I'll move out tomorrow," Jasper said.
He gave a bitter smile, looking at her frail shoulders, wanting to pull her close but holding back.
She had too many misunderstandings about him.
He never wanted to hurt her, but she always hated him.
Taking a deep breath, he turned his eyes back to watch Blake and Lauren play.
"You might not wanna hear this, but I gotta say it," Jasper said.
"Thomas wasn't released by me."
"It was my dad and Stella who set up a scheme, making the head of the mental hospital think it was my idea to release Thomas."
Adeline responded coldly, "Got it."
She didn't believe a word Jasper said.
Back then, she personally overheard him and Molly in her own bedroom.
She also heard Thomas call Jasper, asking what to do if he wasn't dead.
Could all of that be fake?
Seeing Adeline's indifferent attitude, Jasper sighed, lost for words.
He and Adeline, along with their kids, had come to this point. His mistakes were definitely bigger than Adeline's.
If she didn't forgive him, maybe it was for the best.
Blaming him might make Adeline feel better in the future.
He no longer deserved to be by her side.
Blake's health didn't allow him to play in the park for long. After about half an hour, he started having trouble breathing.
Jasper scooped Blake up and rushed towards the hospital.
Adeline held Lauren's hand and followed behind.
"Mommy," Lauren's voice trembled slightly. "Blake just told me he thinks Bennett isn't dead, that Bennett will come back."
"Do you think it's true?"
She lowered her voice, "I saw Bennett's room explode with my own eyes."
Adeline pressed her lips together, holding Lauren's hand tightly. "Blake's right."
"As long as we don't give up hope, your brothers won't die."
Whether it was Blake or Bennett, as long as there was a sliver of hope, she wouldn't give up!
When they got Blake back to the hospital, he started having nosebleeds again.
The doctor said he got too excited, which caused the bleeding.
It took over three hours to save Blake again.
After the successful rescue, the doctor solemnly told Adeline and Jasper that they couldn't let Blake get too excited for the next half month.
After confirming Blake was fine, Adeline sighed in guilt.
By this time, it was already midnight. When Blake was taken in for rescue, Jasper had already asked Alice to take Lauren back.
"You should go rest," Jasper said.
He sighed, gently patting Adeline's shoulder. "Blake's emotions were stable before. I didn't expect tonight's dinner to make him so happy."
Adeline closed her eyes, her voice cracking with a sob.
"It was supposed to be a happy thing," she muttered.
Why did it turn out like this?
Her son was only six years old.
Other kids at six could cry, laugh, and play.
But Blake? At just six, even the excitement of dining with his mom and sister could mess up his health.
Seeing her pained expression, Jasper sighed, gently patting her shoulder. "Blake will get better. He will definitely get better."
Adeline's voice turned cold. "How will he get better?"
She and Brandon had scoured every bone marrow registry, yet still failed to find a matching donor.
The reason she came back, hoping to have another child to save Blake, was a last resort.
Adeline bit her lip hard.
After a while, she opened her eyes. "Jasper. Let's do it tonight."
She stared at his face, enunciating each word. "I have meds to promote ovulation. Tonight, we..."
"Adeline."
Before she could finish, Jasper, with a furrowed brow, interrupted her, "Do you know what you're saying?"
"Your body can't handle having another kid."
"I don't care about what it can or can't handle!" Adeline snapped.
She stood up frantically, wrapping her arms around Jasper's neck, standing on tiptoe, and pressing her lips against his. "I'm still alive."
"As long as I'm alive, I can carry your child for Blake," she spoke while kissing his face frantically.
Maybe it wasn't a kiss but a desperate, helpless bite.
Jasper held her tightly, his breathing a bit rapid. "Adeline, calm down."
"I can't calm down!" Adeline cried.
She bit her lip, her voice choked with sobs. "Jasper, Blake is your kid too! Can you bear to watch him die? You just saw it; he can't even be happy. He's only six years old!"
She bit his lower lip, her eyes filled with pleading. "Jasper. Please, let's do it, okay? Let me carry your child again."
"I know you've never liked me. I know you hate me the most in this life! I won't cling to you; I won't use the child to bind you. Just let me carry your child. I'll do anything you want, okay?" Adeline cried, desperate.
Jasper held her thin, bony body, his voice low and restrained. "Adeline, the doctor said your body can't handle having another kid for two years."
"I don't care!" Adeline gritted her teeth. "Even if I die, even if I die in the delivery room, I want to save Blake. I want him to live well."
She clutched Jasper's collar, crying so hard she nearly fainted.
Adeline's mind was filled with the image of Blake's pale, bloodless face.
She was willing to endure all the pain in the world, as long as God didn't let her child suffer anymore.
"I won't touch you." Jasper cupped her face, his voice low and solemn. "But I will definitely cure Blake's illness. I swear."
But Adeline, who had cried herself into a frenzy, couldn't hear a word he said.
She kept hitting him, cursing him and begging him.
Adeline cried until three in the morning, eventually passing out.
After tucking her in, Jasper walked out of the hospital room, exhausted.
He took out his phone and dialed that unfamiliar number. "I accept your terms."
