Chapter 549 We Have a Conclusion
Luna's face shifted a bit.
Jasper's words made it clear he'd seen her past interviews.
She'd already planted the program Liam gave her into Jasper and Ryan's phones. So, how did he know?
Jasper said, "You told the media that Blake and Lauren, despite being young, have mature minds. Wasn't that to make everyone think they really kidnapped Evelyn?"
Luna pressed her lips together. "That's not what I meant. I just wanted to show they're sensible."
"Really?" Jasper smirked and casually opened the passenger door. "Get in. We need to talk."
Luna hesitated but eventually got in the car.
Seeing her get in, the bodyguard quickly followed. Just as he was about to open the back door, Jasper stopped him.
Jasper said, "You've done a good job protecting Luna these past few days. Go find Ryan for your bonus."
The bodyguard beamed, nodded quickly, and left.
After the bodyguard left, the car doors locked.
Jasper sat in the driver's seat and started the car, his face indifferent.
Luna, sitting in the passenger seat, gently continued, "Jasper, I thought you could bring Adeline back this time when you went to Neon City."
She sighed. "Actually, Adeline is also a pitiful person. If her child hadn't died back then, she wouldn't have gone mad from the mental blow. I even thought about visiting her in the mental hospital, but I didn't expect her to escape."
Jasper squinted his eyes. While driving, he chuckled lightly. "How do you know Adeline escaped?"
Before he went to the mental hospital to find Adeline, Gary had already sealed the news, and no one should know Adeline had escaped.
When he went to find Adeline and discovered the truth, he also instructed Gary not to let the news leak. But now, Luna could easily state the fact that Adeline had escaped.
Jasper's question caught Luna off guard.
Luna stammered, "I heard this news from..."
Before she could finish, a cold female voice from the back seat interrupted her, "You heard it from Gary."
Adeline straightened up, curling her lips into a cold smile as she looked at Luna. "You bribed Gary a long time ago, didn't you?"
The sudden female voice and the woman who suddenly appeared from the back seat left Luna so shocked she couldn't speak. "Adeline!"
Luna glanced at Adeline, then at Jasper, her face instantly turning pale.
Luna wasn't stupid. Since Jasper could let Adeline sit in his car and cover for her, it proved that the misunderstanding between Jasper and Adeline was almost resolved.
Luna leaned against the front passenger seat in near despair, her gaze constantly darting outside the window as she pondered how to fabricate excuses and justifications for herself.
Luna suddenly realized. "This isn't the road to Emerald Crest Estate!"
Luna turned her head in shock to look at Jasper. "Jasper, where are you taking me?"
Jasper's eyes were calm as he looked ahead. "The hospital."
Luna's eyes widened. "What are we going to the hospital for?"
Jasper said, "I've arranged for another top medical team to give you the most authoritative treatment and diagnosis. I want to see if your illness can still be cured."
Luna's face went pale, and she started trembling. "Jasper, that's not necessary, right? Dr. Smith already diagnosed my illness. He's the top doctor in the world; his diagnoses are never wrong."
Jasper looked at her with a mocking smile. "Never wrong? Luna, ever since you bribed Dr. Smith to diagnose Adeline with a mental illness, he lost his credibility. Lately, I've been wondering why there's no specific cure or effective treatment for your illness. Is it really inevitable that we just wait for you to pass away within a year? So, I've consulted many renowned doctors besides Dr. Smith, and they're all stumped by your condition. I used to wonder why you had such a strange illness. Now I get it."
Jasper's gaze was sharp and arrogant. "If you're not sick at all, then no specific medicine or professional doctor can treat you, and there's no way to make you better."
Luna's face was ghostly white. She was so nervous she could barely speak. "Jasper, I'm not faking it! I really am sick! I have a terminal illness; I can't lose control of my emotions!"
She bit her lip, her eyes red as she looked at Jasper. "It really hurts me when you say that. If I lost it..."
Facing Luna's continuous threats, Jasper coldly smiled. "No need to worry; we're already at the hospital."
With that, Jasper pulled over. Adeline glanced out the window. They were already at the entrance of the city hospital.
As soon as the car pulled up, several medical staff rushed up and pulled Luna out of the passenger seat without a word.
Luna shouted, "Jasper, listen to me! Jasper!"
Listening to Luna's voice getting farther away, Adeline sighed lightly. She looked up at Jasper in the driver's seat. "It's rare. I thought you would never suspect that your Luna was faking her illness."
The mockery in Adeline's eyes was obvious.
Jasper sighed lightly, leaning weakly against the leather seat.
He had actually suspected before. But he always felt that Luna was a kind person. Luna was willing to travel thousands of miles from abroad to the unfamiliar Radiance Springs just to donate her bone marrow to Blake. Such a woman, Jasper didn't think she would joke about her life to gain others' sympathy. So during this time, whenever he had doubts about Luna's condition, he reminded himself not to maliciously speculate about her who donated bone marrow to Blake.
Moreover, Luna always had the authoritative diagnosis from Scott's team, and he had no reason to doubt it.
Until he saw Evelyn yesterday. Evelyn's words made him instantly clear-headed.
In fact, compared to cold data and diagnosis certificates, Jasper should trust his own eyes and guts more.
The two of them sat in the car without speaking.
Half an hour later, the hospital called Jasper, "Mr. Foster, can you come upstairs now? We have a conclusion about Luna's condition."
