Chapter 377: I Have Good News to Tell You

Jasper's body paused slightly.

Sure enough. Adeline's despondent look was because she saw him with Luna.

However, he didn't plan to explain. He was acutely aware that the lives of Bennett and an unborn child stood between him and Adeline. They couldn't be together anymore.

Moreover, for Blake's bone marrow transplant, he had to keep his promise to stay by Luna's side until she passed away.

So, why bother explaining?

He turned to look at Adeline, smiling coldly. "Does it make a difference?"

"While I hand over Blue Bay to you, Blake, and Lauren, I will reside with Luna at the Emerald Crest Estate. Isn't that the perfect solution?"

The rain was pouring down.

Just like Adeline's terrible mood.

His words made her seethe with anger.

She gritted her teeth, glaring at Jasper with a icy voice. "Jasper, do you even remember that Blake and Lauren need to recover?"

"Bennett and an unborn child are already dead. The remaining kids are in dire straits: one with a terminal, incurable illness, and the other mentally unhinged!"

"At a time like this, you still have the mind to find a lover?"

As Blake and Lauren's father, Jasper claimed he wanted her to take care of them, but in reality, it was for his own ease and pleasure!

Luna had just met him for the first time yesterday, and today they were already hugging and cuddling!

Was he that eager?

He faintly smiled. He put one hand in his pocket and walked slowly to Adeline, lifting her chin with the other hand. His voice was cold and indifferent. "Why are you so angry? Are you jealous?"

His tone was flippant. "Adeline, are you trying to tell me you still like me?"

His words choked her, leaving her speechless.

She bit her lip and glared at him. "I could be jealous of anyone, but never of you!"

Her eyes were filled with hatred. "The thing I regret most in my life is ever liking you!"

With that, she turned around in a mess, her wet and trembling body stumbling towards the villa.

Alice bit her lip, glanced at Jasper, and quickly followed Adeline.

Jasper stood there, watching Adeline's retreating figure with a bitter smile.

Back in the car, he leaned wearily against the driver's seat.

The rain outside continued.

Jasper shut his eyes, and all he could see was Adeline's hate-filled gaze from moments before.

Her biggest regret was ever liking him.

He smiled bitterly.

That must be her true feelings, right?

At that moment, his phone rang. It was Luna calling.

She said, "Jasper."

Her voice was tinged with tears. "Where did you go?"

"The rain is so heavy, and the thunder is so loud. I'm scared to death."

"I went downstairs to find you, but you weren't home. The whole estate is empty, and I'm all alone."

"Do you not want to be my boyfriend?"

"If that's the case, I'll book a ticket and leave Radiance Springs right now."

Luna's soft and weak voice made the already annoyed Jasper even more irritable.

He frowned, lowered his voice as much as possible to hide his emotions. "Don't overthink it. I meant what I said."

"I'm coming back to find you now. Wait for me at home."

After getting his promise, her voice finally softened. "I understand."

"I'll wait for you on the couch."

Jasper hung up the phone, took one last look at Blue Bay, and then started the car and left.

In the bedroom on the second floor of Blue Bay. Adeline, already changed into dry pajamas, stood silently by the window, watching Jasper's car leave.

If she wasn't mistaken, he was heading towards Emerald Crest Estate.

She slowly closed her eyes.

Jason's words from earlier echoed in her ears. She was excited and joyful in belief she had misunderstood Jasper, that she had been misled by Molly.

But now, whether she misunderstood or was misled, it no longer mattered. Jasper wasn't worth it.

"Mommy."

At that moment, the bedroom door opened.

"Mommy." Blake came in, carefully placing a small bowl of steaming chicken soup on the table. "Drink this while it's hot. You can't get sick."

She turned around, looking at Blake standing there with complex emotions.

She walked over and hugged Blake tightly.

"Mommy knows. Mommy won't get sick." Adeline said.

After all, Blake and Lauren only had her.

Despite that, Adeline still caught a cold. She stayed home for three days.

Three days later, she received a call from Lucia.

"Adeline, your vacation should be over by now, right? When are you coming back to work?" Lucia said.

Adeline paused. She sneered, "Go back to work?"

She had worked at Foster Group before to get close to Jasper and have his child.

"Yes." Lucia answered.

Lucia, probably sensing her sarcasm, pursed her lips. "I heard you have a son with a terminal illness? You must be short on money, right? Are you not planning to come back to work?"

Lucia's words made Adeline grip her phone tightly.

She thought of her bank account, the balance dwindling from Blake's medical expenses, and hesitated.

"I'll think about it." She said.

With that, Lucia hung up the phone.

Even though Jasper offered her a high salary, she still didn't want to work at Foster Group.

Taking a deep breath, she opened her laptop and started browsing job listings for jewelry designers in Radiance Springs.

As she submitted her third resume, there was a knock on her door.

It was Eric, whom Jasper had arranged to stay at Blue Bay to take care of Blake.

Seeing Eric knock, Adeline frowned and quickly stood up. "What's wrong with Blake?"

Seeing her nervousness, he smiled and waved his hand. "Blake is fine."

"I came to find you because I have good news."

Adeline said, "Good news?"

He said, "Yes."

He looked at her with excitement. "The hospital just called. We've finally found a bone marrow match for Blake!"

"The donor is a volunteer from abroad. They're not in the best health, but are willing to cooperate with the doctors here for conditioning."

"If everything goes well, Blake could have the bone marrow transplant surgery in less than half a month!"
