Chapter 449 Is Work More Important Than Health?
"Seriously?" Luna blinked her wide eyes and shot a look at Amelia. "When did I ever tell you to mess with Ms. Wilson? Why would I even bother? Ms. Wilson is Jasper's top employee; she's a cash cow for the Foster Group. This jewelry design competition? It's riding on her skills."
Amelia clenched her teeth. "You're just jealous of Adeline! You're scared she's gonna steal your Jasper!"
Luna rolled her eyes. "Are you for real? You think someone like Jasper can be snatched that easily?"
Luna let out a cold laugh, then turned to Adeline with a smirk. "Ms. Wilson, don't you agree?"
Adeline had been watching the drama unfold, not feeling the need to jump in. But Luna's words were clearly a challenge.
So Adeline smirked back. "Yeah, with Ms. Jones being so gorgeous and head over heels for Mr. Foster, you can keep him in check, right?"
Adeline's words made Luna's face darken. She pressed her lips together, about to say something, when Amelia, looking defeated, pulled out her phone. "She’s not worried about Mr. Foster being taken away? She's totally worried! Luna freaks out every day that Mr. Foster will fall for Ms. Wilson, which is why she asked me to go after Ms. Wilson all the time!"
After saying that, she quickly pulled up her chat history with Luna and handed the phone to Jasper. "Mr. Foster, look! Luna made me target Ms. Wilson!"
Jasper frowned and gave Ryan a look. Ryan stepped forward, took Amelia's phone, and handed it to Jasper.
Jasper let go of Luna, frowned, and started scrolling through the chat history between Amelia and Luna.
As he read, Amelia gritted her teeth. "Luna's been jealous of Ms. Wilson from the start, which is why she kept going after her! Anne's burn was all part of her plan. Later, Luna's vitamins being mistaken for drugs was also a setup by her and me. That’s why it was so easy to misunderstand - it was all part of her scheme! Mr. Foster, you need to see Luna's true colors!"
While Amelia gritted her teeth and Jasper flipped through the phone, Adeline let out a cold laugh. She had known all this for a long time. Still, she wanted to see how Jasper, who always protected Luna, would react when Luna was exposed in front of everyone.
She already had an answer in her heart. Jasper would definitely protect Luna to the end.
Adeline even thought that Jasper would delete the evidence while checking Amelia's phone, leaving no room for anyone to question his Ms. Jones.
Before long, Jasper looked up and handed the phone back to Amelia. "This is your so-called evidence? It's just some ordinary chats."
Amelia frowned and snatched the phone back. But what she saw left her stunned. The carefully saved chat history with Luna had somehow been replaced with mundane conversations!
Amelia's eyes widened in shock. How could this be? She had always been careful with Luna, which is why she saved these records. When were the chat records altered?
Thinking of this, she instinctively glanced at Luna behind Jasper. Luna gave her a sinister smile.
Amelia instantly understood. Luna had also been careful with her.
"Amelia, I can't believe you'd treat me like this after everything." Luna bit her lip, tears streaming down uncontrollably.
Luna threw herself into Jasper's arms. "Jasper, I'm so heartbroken."
Jasper's brow furrowed slightly, but he still gently held Luna. "Alright, it's okay now."
The scene made Amelia grit her teeth in anger. "Luna! You wicked woman."
"You dare call me wicked?" Luna lifted her head from Jasper's arms, tears welling up, and took out her phone. "Amelia, I thought we were buddies, but you bad-mouth me. I didn't want to hold this against you for the sake of our friendship. But since you're heartless, don't blame me."
With that, she played a recording of a conversation between Amelia and her.
Amelia said, "I saw Mr. Foster holding Adeline, and I was very upset. How could your boyfriend, hold a slut like Adeline? I stopped them and questioned Mr. Foster about why ."
Luna said, "Jasper holding Adeline must be because she was injured and he was taking her to the hospital, nothing more. Let's leave it at that. You deserved to be beaten for talking nonsense."
As the recording played, Amelia collapsed completely.
At this moment, she finally understood why Luna had so sternly told her not to bring up this matter again. It turned out she was recording to show loyalty to Jasper.
Luna said, "Jasper, this is a recording of my recent call with Amelia. You know I have a bad memory and always like to record calls to listen to them later."
Saying this, she wiped her tears and leaned aggrievedly into Jasper's arms. "I was never in cahoots with Amelia. I don't understand why she would involve me in her schemes."
Jasper sighed, gently holding Luna in his arms, and looked coldly at Amelia. "Go settle your wages and leave immediately. The Foster Group doesn't need someone like you."
Amelia sat on the ground, stunned. She had wholeheartedly intended to help Luna, only to be harmed by her in the end.
Seeing Amelia in this state, Anne felt a bit sympathetic. She sighed, walked over, and helped Amelia up. "Come on! I'll help you pack your things."
Amelia closed her eyes and let out a bitter laugh, then finally walked away. She had lost, with no power to fight against Luna.
After Amelia left, Jasper held Luna and turned to look indifferently at Adeline. "If your arm is injured, you can take two days off."
Adeline, however, smiled coldly. "Forget it. Taking two days off would just delay things. I still need to work hard and make money for Mr. Foster as soon as possible."
Adeline's words made Jasper's eyes flicker slightly.
She said she wanted to make more money for him, but he knew very well that her underlying intention was to leave Radiance Springs with Blake and Lauren as soon as possible, to get away from him.
Thinking of this, Jasper glanced coldly at Vikram. "Take her home."
With that, he walked away with Luna in his arms.
Adeline stood there, watching Jasper leave with Luna, a cold smile forming on her lips. Jasper never failed to disappoint her.
Even in the face of Amelia's accusations, he could calmly delete the incriminating evidence and protect Luna.
Vikram called, "Adeline."
Vikram's voice pulled her back to reality.
Vikram asked, "Do you want me to take you home?"
Adeline turned to look at him. "Thank you for your help. But I still want to continue working."
Vikram frowned and glanced at her injured arm. "Is work more important than health?"
Adeline said, "Leaving here is more important than health."
