Chapter 825 You Must Go
"Oliver, you really crack me up."
Daisy chuckled. "Patty is Brandon's and my kid. How could there be a mix-up?"
She quickly shifted gears. "Dad, how are you feeling now? Is your head still hurting?"
But Oliver wasn't ready to let the topic go. "Daisy, don't be so sure. I saw on the news that there was another case of babies being switched at the hospital in Oceancrest City."
He narrowed his eyes. "I think you should take Brandon and Patty for a DNA test."
"If Patty isn't switched, great. If she is, we can get the right child back quickly."
He even turned to Howard. "Dad, don't you agree?"
"You wouldn't want another mix-up like what happened with Daisy and Adeline, right?"
Howard frowned. At first, he felt the same as Daisy, thinking there was no need for a DNA test. But when Oliver brought up the mix-up between Daisy and Adeline...
Howard sighed and looked at Daisy. "Daisy, Oliver has a point."
"Doing another test will give us peace of mind."
Daisy's face turned pale. She bit her lip and coughed lightly. "There's no rush."
Oliver raised an eyebrow. "How can there be no rush? The sooner we do it, the sooner we get the results!"
He stood up and grabbed Daisy's shoulder. "Dad is fine here. I'll go with you to the Torres Mansion to get Patty's hair and collect a sample from Brandon."
"We'll have the results in a few hours."
Oliver was determined to make Daisy uncomfortable. After what Brandon and Daisy did last night, killing someone right in front of them and causing Adeline to have nightmares all night, he wanted them to feel the same anxiety.
Daisy started to panic as Oliver pulled her. She struggled. "Oliver, why are you in such a hurry?"
"This kind of thing..."
"This kind of thing, I need to discuss with Brandon first, right?"
She quickly turned to Howard for help. "Dad, please stop Oliver!"
"He wants to take Patty and Brandon's hair for a DNA test. We know he means well, but what if the Torres family finds out?"
"Won't they think the child might not be Brandon's and think I'm unfaithful?"
Daisy started crying. "I'm getting married to Brandon in two days. I don't want them to think that way about me."
"Dad, I'll do the DNA test with Patty and Brandon, but at least let me wait until after the wedding!"
Seeing Daisy's tearful face, Howard frowned. He was silent for a moment before looking at Oliver. "Let go of Daisy."
He sighed. "After all, whether Patty was switched or not is between her and Brandon. It has nothing to do with us."
Oliver sneered but finally let go of Daisy. As he released her, he leaned in and whispered in her ear. "This is just a small lesson for you."
"If you ever dare to say anything bad about my son or daughter again, I'll take your whole family for a DNA test."
With that, Oliver turned and left. Watching him leave, Daisy broke out in a cold sweat.
Did Oliver know about Patty's identity? Otherwise, why would he know she was afraid of a DNA test?
"Daisy."
Howard's voice pulled Daisy back to reality. She turned and smiled at him. "Dad."
"Did it hurt?"
Howard's gaze fell on the shoulder Oliver had grabbed. Daisy paused, quickly wiping her tears and shaking her head. "It's nothing."
"It didn't hurt."
She sniffled, sat down in a chair, and sighed deeply while comforting Howard. Howard thought she was sighing because of Oliver and rubbed her head. "Don't take that jerk seriously."
"He's always been rough."
"But Oliver is very gentle with Adeline."
Daisy sniffled and looked up. "Dad, don't you think Adeline needs a companion?"
Howard frowned. "What do you mean?"
Daisy sighed. "Although Adeline made you so angry last night, it was all a misunderstanding."
"It wasn't Adeline who brought Jasper; he followed her."
"Jasper went to Adeline's place on his own. It had nothing to do with her."
Daisy looked at Howard. "It's been almost a month since Adeline lost her child."
"I think if we introduce her to a good man from Oceancrest City, and she starts a new relationship, Jasper might stop bothering her."
"People say the best way to get over someone is to start a new relationship."
"If Adeline starts a new relationship, she can completely cut ties with Jasper."
Howard nodded. "Makes sense."
"But..."
He sighed, "Are there any suitable men for Adeline in Oceancrest City?"
"Originally, Brandon was the best match..."
Realizing he shouldn't say this in front of Daisy, he quickly changed the subject. "Do you have someone in mind?"
Daisy's eyes narrowed, a flash of malice in her eyes. She hated Adeline even more. Why did even Howard think Brandon and Adeline were a good match?
"Of course, I have someone in mind."
Daisy smiled and leaned in to whisper in Howard's ear.
In the small courtyard, Adeline had been having nightmares all night. After Linda brought her breakfast, she finally fell asleep, clutching her blanket.
But she hadn't been asleep long when her phone rang. It was Howard.
Adeline frowned, her head pounding, and answered the call. "Adeline."
Howard cleared his throat. "About Jasper yesterday, I misunderstood you. I'm sorry."
Adeline paused, her sleepiness fading. She smiled awkwardly. "It's okay."
How could she hold a grudge against an elderly man with high blood pressure?
"I'm glad you're not mad."
Howard took a deep breath. "But I think you should start a new relationship to cut ties with Jasper."
"I've arranged a date for you."
"Tonight at eight, Lucky Restaurant. You must go."
