Chapter 448 I Have All the Evidence

Faced with Amelia's grilling, Adeline clammed up, totally speechless.

She couldn't pin it on Jasper or come up with some other lame excuse.

With Luna right there, if she said the hickey was from Jasper, Luna might lose it. If Jasper got dragged in and denied it to keep Luna happy, Adeline would be in deep trouble. But she couldn't exactly say she gave herself a hickey, right?

"What, cat got your tongue?" Amelia, seeing Luna there, got even more cocky. "Didn't you go to the hospital? Did the doc treat you with their lips?"

Adeline narrowed her eyes, giving Amelia a cold stare. "Why are you so hung up on the hickey on my neck? You that into my business?"

"Exactly." Anne, nearby, rolled her eyes at Amelia and backed Adeline up, "First, you said the cut on Adeline's arm was fake, now you're all over the mark on her neck."

Amelia laughed. "Just trying to get to the bottom of it."

She crossed her arms. "Adeline was just carried away by Mr. Foster. Luna's my good friend, Mr. Foster's girl. I gotta know if something went down between Adeline and Mr. Foster, right?"

"Besides," Amelia smirked, "Adeline was working solo in the office forever without a scratch, but as soon as Mr. Foster shows up, she gets hurt bad. And it's your arm that's hurt, not your leg, yet you need Mr. Foster to carry you? Who knows if she really got hurt by accident or if it's all a setup?"

"You!" Anne glared, fuming. Timothy raised his hand, ready to smack Amelia, but Robert stopped him.

Just as things were about to blow up, Vikram's voice came from the doorway. "Wow, you really have a wild imagination."

Everyone turned to look.

Adeline frowned and looked up.

At the door, Vikram was leaning casually against the frame, looking chill.

Behind him stood Jasper, looking dark and stormy.

Their entrance instantly cooled the room.

"Jasper, is this your company's vibe? Pretty unique." Vikram teased Jasper with a smirk, then turned to smile at Adeline.

Vikram said, "I was worried about your injury and came to check on you, but I didn't expect to see such a drama. As expected of a designer, your way of thinking is really out there."

As he spoke, Vikram walked slowly towards Adeline. "I'd think a normal person's first reaction to seeing a colleague or boss hurt would be to show some concern. But Ms. Long here, she's impressive. Adeline's hurt, and you're still fixated on a hickey."

Saying this, Vikram reached Adeline and pulled her into his arms. As he held her, he felt the icy stare from Jasper at the door. But he didn't care.

He had seen Adeline being forced to take off her bandage. He thought there'd be nothing under it since he got the scoop from Lucia. But there was a real wound under Adeline's bandage. She must've done it herself. That cut was deep and long. Adeline went to such lengths to avoid any misunderstanding about her and Jasper, even hurting herself!

He felt heartbroken. So, Vikram grinned at Amelia and Luna. "You wanna know where the hickey came from? I gave it to her."

Vikram's words caused a stir in the office.

Amelia's face went pale. Where did Vikram even come from?

Vikram said, "What, don't believe me? I can kiss her again right now, and you can compare if it's the same."

Vikram sneered, raising his hand to cup Adeline's chin and leaning in.

"Enough!" Just as Vikram's lips were about to touch Adeline's neck, Jasper's cold voice cut through the air from the door.

His voice was so icy and deep that Vikram instinctively paused.

Adeline took the chance to break free from his hold.

A flicker of sadness crossed Vikram's eyes. He almost kissed her.

Even though it was a fake kiss to help her, and he hadn't planned to actually kiss her. But being avoided by her, Vikram felt a bit bummed.

Jasper coldly stepped into the room. "During work hours, what are you all doing in the office?"

He then turned his frosty gaze to Amelia. "You don't need to come in tomorrow."

Amelia panicked instantly. "Mr. Foster!"

Jasper said, "The Foster Group doesn't need nosy employees snooping on their bosses' private lives."

Jasper sneered. "Today, you forced Adeline to show her wound to prove she was really hurt, and then questioned the hickey on her neck. Tomorrow, will you demand I disclose my private life and bank balance to you?"

Amelia was completely flustered. "That's not what I meant! Mr. Foster, I didn't mean that."

Then she turned her gaze to Luna. "I was standing up for Luna! You are Luna's boyfriend, yet you carried Adeline away. As Luna's good friend, I couldn't stand it."

After Amelia finished speaking, Luna frowned slightly and looked at her coldly. "Ms. Long, you must be joking. When did I ever say we were good friends?"

Luna's words left Amelia stunned.

Amelia was taken aback. "Luna, what do you mean?"

Luna said, "I mean, firing you is a wise decision."

Luna sighed, walked over to Jasper, and gently took his arm. "Jasper, don't be too angry. The Foster Group is such a large company with hundreds of thousands of employees. It's bound to happen that a couple of people have bad intentions. Now that we've spotted them, let's just fire them. There's no need to be angry about it."

Luna's reaction made everyone in the design department hold their breath. Amelia, who always shared the closest bond with Luna and considered her in every matter!

Timothy let out a cold laugh. "Ms. Jones certainly knows how to adapt to circumstances. You usually get along so well with Amelia, but when faced with problems, you change your demeanor instantly. Truly admirable."

Luna chuckled. "I have a good relationship with you too. I'm just being fair."

Luna thought, 'I don't want to anger Jasper over someone as brainless as Amelia.'

After all, Jasper had just had a thing with Adeline. She needed to be more gentle and considerate to make him feel guilty.

Luna's attitude made Amelia take a few steps back, collapsing weakly to the ground. How could this be?

She had always helped Luna wholeheartedly; she always considered Luna as her best friend. For Luna, she had even offended Adeline multiple times.

Taking a deep breath, Amelia looked up, her eyes filled with hatred as she stared at Luna. "You say we're not best friends, right?"

Amelia sneered and took out her phone. "Luna, don't forget. I have all our chat records on my phone! I even have evidence of how you instructed me to question and trouble Adeline, and how you mocked and ridiculed her!"
