Chapter 447 Who Made the Kiss Mark
Luna shot a quick look at Adeline.
Adeline's left arm was in a sling, with some blood showing through the bandages. She looked super pale.
Luna's eyes narrowed, feeling a chill in her heart.
Honestly, even if Amelia hadn't called, she knew what was going on between Jasper and Adeline.
She stopped Amelia from saying more because she didn't want everyone to know about Jasper and Adeline. Everyone thought she and Jasper were madly in love.
If word got out, people would think there was trouble in paradise, and she'd lose respect. That was a no-go for her.
But now, with Amelia talking about Adeline faking being sick, she could use it to her advantage. If Adeline was faking, then Jasper was just taking her to the hospital. No one would think their relationship was on the rocks.
Thinking this, Luna smiled and walked into the office. "Amelia, what are you talking about? Jasper was just explaining that Ms. Wilson got hurt, and he carried her."
Luna stood next to Amelia, her voice soft but with a sinister edge. "I don't think Ms. Wilson would fake being sick. Faking it would just screw up her work, and there's no benefit for her."
Amelia caught the hint in Luna's words and smirked. "No upside? Mr. Foster just carried her from the office to the elevator!"
Luna sighed. "Getting carried by Jasper is no big deal; he carries me all the time. Don't make a fuss."
Amelia got even more pissed. "But you're Mr. Foster's girlfriend!"
Amelia continued, "What is Adeline? Just some ex who hangs around the company, pretending to work while trying to get back with Mr. Foster!"
Amelia's words made Anne frown.
Timothy rushed forward and shoved Amelia. "Watch your mouth! If Adeline says she's hurt, then she's hurt! You think she's like Luna, always faking it to get a hospital pass?"
Timothy's words made Luna's eyes narrow, a cold look in her gaze. She hated being accused of faking.
But Luna still put on a weak act, glanced at Timothy, and sighed. "We're all in the same department; let's not fight."
Luna looked around at the onlookers and then at Adeline. "Ms. Wilson, why don't you take off the bandage and show us if you're really hurt?"
Adeline gave her a cold stare and didn't say anything.
Luna stepped back, pretending to be scared by Adeline's look. "Ms. Wilson, if you don't want to, that's fine. I believe you're hurt."
Luna looked at the crowd. "But things have gotten out of hand. If you don't prove it, no one will be able to focus on work."
Adeline smirked and gave Luna a cold look. "If I show my injury and I'm really hurt, will Ms. Jones make Amelia write me an apology and send it to everyone in the company?"
Amelia snorted, crossing her arms. "If you're not hurt, you'll be the one writing an apology to everyone in the company!"
Luna quickly wrapped it up. "Alright, it's a deal."
Luna and Amelia were sure Adeline wasn't really hurt.
Luna even thought that when Adeline took off the bandage, there might be Jasper's kiss marks on it! Thinking of Jasper's downcast look when he got home, Luna couldn't help but feel a surge of anger.
Adeline nodded. "Alright."
Seeing the smug looks on Luna and Amelia's faces, Adeline sneered and put her arm in front of Anne.
As soon as Adeline's arm got close, Anne caught a strong whiff of blood.
Anne frowned, glanced at Adeline, and whispered, "Adeline, are you sure you want to take off the bandage?"
With so many layers of bandage and still smelling blood, Adeline's wound had to be pretty deep.
Adeline sneered and shot a cold look at Luna and Amelia. "If I don't take it off, how can they see if I'm really hurt or just faking it?"
Anne pursed her lips and did as Adeline asked, removing the bandage from her arm.
The smell of blood filled the air.
After just two layers of bandage were removed, the office was filled with the scent of blood.
Amelia was stunned and turned to Luna in a panic.
A flash of shock crossed Luna's eyes too.
How could this be? Jasper carrying Adeline away was definitely because Jasper's medication had taken effect! How could there really be a wound on her arm? And such a fresh one?
Anne completely removed the bandage from Adeline's left arm. Underneath was a blood-soaked wound, covered with yellow medicinal powder, and beneath that, a stitched wound.
Anne glanced at it and confirmed the wound was about 4 inches long and very deep! Just the stitches alone were more than ten!
Amelia was dumbfounded.
Luna was also dumbfounded.
Everyone in the office who thought Jasper wasn't taking Adeline to the hospital was left speechless.
This scar was something Adeline had cut herself with a fruit knife at home.
The doctor thought that as long as it was bandaged, no one would check and even tried to persuade her not to harm herself.
But Adeline was very clear. If she didn't cut herself like this, Luna and Amelia would never let her go. This scene was something she had anticipated long ago.
"Did everyone see clearly?" Adeline sneered, turning around and showing the wound to Luna and Amelia, a cold smile on her lips. "What did you just say? Amelia, I'm waiting for your apology letter."
After speaking, Adeline instructed Anne to help her re-bandage the wound. She turned her head and gave Luna's pale face a cold look. "I'm not the type to fake being sick. Only incompetent do that."
After saying this, she even blinked at Luna. "Ms. Jones, don't you agree?"
Luna's face looked terrible. She bit her lip and spoke in a tone feigning nonchalance. "Of course. I was just trying to persuade Amelia not to talk nonsense and falsely accuse you of not being injured."
After saying this, she smiled at Adeline. "Rest assured, I will ensure that Amelia diligently writes her apology letter."
Adeline chuckled lightly. "That's best." After speaking, she turned around and adjusted the sling around her neck.
But in the process, her collar was pulled open, revealing a collarbone with kiss marks.
Amelia instantly became excited. Those were definitely kiss marks!
As Adeline walked towards the office, Amelia quickly rushed forward and blocked her path. "Ms. Wilson, when you came to work this morning, your neck and collarbone were clean. How is it that in less than 24 hours, there are kiss marks on your collarbone?"
Adeline stopped in her tracks. She turned back and raised an eyebrow at Amelia. "What else do you want to say?"
Amelia snorted coldly, pointing at the kiss marks on Adeline's neck. "This morning, there was nothing on your neck. You've been working all day, only just now getting injured and being carried away by Mr. Foster for a while. So, who put those kiss marks on your neck?"
