Chapter 735 You Say She Is My Mother
The night was pitch black.
A screech of brakes shattered the silence at Magnolia Estate.
Hearing the noise outside, Mia, who was watching TV in the living room, frowned and quickly threw on a coat before heading out the door.
Outside, stepping out of the car was Oliver, dressed in all black.
Under the night sky, his face was grim, his features taut.
Mia frowned at him. "What are you doing here?"
Oliver got out of the car and strode directly towards the villa, his urgency making him oblivious to the woman in front of him.
He brushed past Mia and went straight inside. "Adeline!"
Oliver moved so quickly that the wind from his passing made Mia frown even more.
She hurried after him. "It's late, Adeline's already asleep. What do you need her for? You can't go up there. It's inappropriate for you to go into her room."
Mia's words had no effect on Oliver.
He found Adeline's room and pounded on the door. "Adeline!"
Adeline, already asleep in bed, was jolted awake by the sudden male voice outside her door. She sat up, clutching her blanket. "Who is it?"
"It's me, Oliver."
Outside, Oliver's impatience was evident. "Come out, it's urgent!"
Adeline had never had a good impression of the Phoebe family. Oliver barging into Magnolia Estate and knocking on her door so late at night, demanding she come out.. Adeline frowned, not intending to get up and open the door. "Mr. Phoebe, what could be so important that you need to knock on my door in the middle of the night?"
Hearing Adeline hesitate, Oliver narrowed his eyes and took a step back.
With a loud crash, the bedroom door splintered.
Both Adeline inside and Mia outside were stunned. The two women turned pale, staring at Oliver. "What are you doing?"
"Adeline, I need to talk to you. It's urgent."
Oliver stepped over the broken door, grabbed Adeline's wrist, and dragged her out of bed. "It's a matter of life and death. We need to go now. I'll explain it to you on the way, come with me."
Adeline struggled to free her hand from his grip. "Oliver! Show some respect!"
Mia, standing nearby, also frowned. "Are you crazy?"
"If she doesn't come with me, I will be!"
Seeing Adeline struggle, Oliver frowned, picked her up, and slung her over his shoulder, heading downstairs.
After all, she was his sister!
As Oliver carried Adeline out the door, Mia blocked his path.
Mia extended her arm to stop Oliver, her eyes bloodshot. "Oliver, I can't believe you. You come here every day pretending to help Adeline and Jasper, but now you want to do this to her!"
Oliver's eyes flashed with anger. What did she think he was trying to do to Adeline?
He just wanted Zara to see her biological daughter before she died!
Zara wasn't his biological mother, but she had treated him like her own child for years.
If it weren't for the rumors that his mother Esther was a mistress, he wouldn't have distanced himself from Zara.
Now that Zara was on her deathbed, bringing Adeline to her was hardly malicious.
Oliver snorted, unwilling to explain further to Mia. He pushed her aside and carried Adeline away.
Adeline, struggling on Oliver's shoulder, looked back at Mia, who had been pushed against the wall. "Find Jasper!"
With that, Oliver carried her out the door.
Mia leaned against the wall, her back aching from the impact.
She bit her lip, watching Oliver carry Adeline away, her heart aching for reasons she couldn't understand.
What was she hoping for?
Oliver was a ruthless Phoebe.
How could he have any interest in someone as plain as her?
If he liked anyone, it would be someone like Adeline.
These past days, she had been deluded by Joseph's words, thinking that Oliver and she were more than just an act.
After a moment, she took a deep breath, pulled out her phone, and found Jasper's number.
The call connected quickly.
Mia took a deep breath. "Jasper. Oliver just broke into Magnolia Estate and took Adeline."
Jasper's voice was cold and sharp. "Who did you say?"
Mia looked in the direction Oliver had gone, holding back tears. "Oliver. I never realized he liked Adeline. So when he came tonight, the guards and servants were unprepared. He kicked down Adeline's door and carried her away. They headed towards downtown. I... I can't help you any more than this."
With that, she hung up.
Her phone fell onto the carpet.
Mia covered her face, tears streaming down uncontrollably.
She knew it. All the good things in the world were never meant for someone as unlucky as her.
Oceancrest City Central Hospital.
By the time Oliver's car stopped, Adeline had snapped out of her shock.
She felt like Oliver had told her an unbelievable story on the way.
He said he was her half-brother.
She was Howard and Zara's biological daughter..
Years ago, Daniel had swapped her with Daisy at the orphanage, not Molly.
Adeline's mind was in turmoil from this revelation.
The car had been parked for a while, but seeing she hadn't moved, Oliver narrowed his eyes. "Adeline, there are a lot of people in the hospital. If you don't want me to carry you in, get out of the car yourself. I don't care if you can accept this or not, but tonight you must come with me to see our mother!"
Adeline turned to him, a mocking smile on her lips. "Why should I meet a stranger?"
Oliver took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. "I've told you, she's not a stranger. She's your biological mother!"
"My biological mother, who almost killed my daughter with her poison, and caused the death of Mrs. Lily Foster, whom I respected the most?"
She looked at Oliver, her voice calm. "Oh, and if I remember correctly, the poison that caused Bennett's amnesia was also made by Mrs. Phoebe, right? And you say she's my mother?"
Oliver narrowed his eyes. "Mom only made the poison. She couldn't control who Molly gave it to!"
Adeline asked, "Then why did she give it to Molly?"
"Because she thought Molly was her biological daughter." Oliver replied.
Adeline tilted her head, looking at Oliver. "Does the Phoebe family not do DNA tests when looking for their biological children?"
