Chapter 282 I Want to Be Your Boyfriend

"My husband's hickey? Of course, I gave it to him." Stella leaned against Jasper's chest, her voice dripping with possessive pride as she looked down at Adeline. "Unless you're claiming responsibility?"

Adeline, her gaze fixed on Jasper's face, countered, "Do you even believe it was Stella?"

Jasper's eyes darkened. The hickey... he remembered it now.

Last night, he and Adeline had been on the rooftop, gazing at the stars. He'd had a bit too much to drink, and one thing had led to another...

He remembered their kiss, lingering and passionate, Adeline's lips leaving that mark on his neck. Later, the alcohol had clouded his mind, his memories blurring.

But he distinctly recalled being with Adeline. He'd woken up with Stella by his side, confusion swirling within him. Had something happened to Adeline? He'd rushed to her room, only to find her disheveled, with Sebastian.

Anger, confusion, and a bitter disappointment had washed over him. And now, Adeline dared to bring up the hickey in front of him? Did she have no shame?

He clung to the image of her kissing him just hours ago, juxtaposed with her current state, with Sebastian. "The hickey was from Stella, of course," he spat, his voice laced with ice.

He glared at Adeline, "Who else could it be? You?" Crossing his arms, he continued, his voice dangerously low, "Are you suggesting you kissed me last night, Miss Wilson, and then spent the night with Sebastian?"

"Were you whispering sweet nothings to Brandon while you were at it?"

Adeline froze, the blood draining from her face. She had only asked about the hickey to gauge his memory of the previous night. His reaction made it abundantly clear he remembered everything.

Her hands clenched into fists, nails digging into her palms. He remembered. He remembered it all.

And not only did he remember, but he also accused her of being with Sebastian after their encounter! And what was that jab about Brandon? Was he implying she was apromiscuous woman?

"Mr. Torres?" Stella feigned shock, her eyes wide. "Is he Adeline's boyfriend? Why haven't I heard of him?"

Jasper's eyes narrowed, his voice a whiplash of cold fury. "Of course you haven't. She wouldn't want anyone to know, would she? Not when she's busy seducing other men."

Sebastian finally spoke, his brow furrowed. "Jasper, that's enough."

"Am I wrong?" Jasper released Stella's arm and stalked towards Adeline, his expression thunderous.

His eyes, cold and sharp as shards of ice, bored into her. "You used the kids as an excuse to stay at our company's luxury hotel, then invited Sebastian along."

He stood before her, tilting her chin up with a single finger. "Staying in a company room, spending company money, all under the pretense of caring for the children. You're a resourceful woman, Adeline."

Adeline met his gaze defiantly. "Aren't you resourceful yourself?" she retorted, her voice low, meant only for his ears. "Want me to tell everyone what we were doing last night, Mr. Foster?"

Jasper's eyes flickered.

She brushed his hand away. "Let me remind you, Mr. Foster, I am single. Who I choose to be with is my business. Even if I were with a different man every night, it's none of your business. What right do you have to judge me? Who are you to me?"

Jasper's face darkened. "You are an employee of the Foster Group,", he hissed. "Your indecent behavior, if it were to get out, would tarnish the company's reputation."

Adeline laughed. "And who would tell?" she challenged. "Right now, it's just you, me, and Stella. If we keep quiet, how would my personal life affect the Foster Group?"

She turned her icy gaze to Stella. "Wouldn't you agree, Stella?"

"Of course," Stella replied smoothly, hiding her true feelings. Even now, Adeline was trying to manipulate her into silence.

Adeline stepped back, her gaze sweeping over Jasper dismissively. "Shouldn't you be leaving? Unless you'd like to continue this enlightening discussion about the Foster Group's corporate culture? Or perhaps you'd like to delve deeper into the origin of that hickey?"

Her words were calm, almost indifferent, but the underlying threat was unmistakable.

Jasper's hands clenched into fists. His anger was a living thing, trapped inside him. He couldn't shake the image of her kissing him last night... and then being with Sebastian. He had misjudged her, been completely fooled.

"Jasper, let's go." Stella's voice, tight with barely concealed frustration, cut through the tension. "She's right. Who she sleeps with is her business. As long as she's discreet, it won't affect the company."

She shot Adeline a disdainful look. "We're leaving. Let her get dressed."

Jasper's eyes raked over Adeline one last time, his lips twisting in a cruel smirk. "Yes, Miss Wilson should get dressed. It is daytime, after all."

With that, he turned and strode out of the room, Stella trailing behind him.

Their voices faded down the hallway. "Don't be angry, Jasper. She's just that kind of woman..."

As the sound of their footsteps disappeared, Adeline slumped onto the bed, a wave of despair washing over her.

'Jasper remembered.'

'He remembered everything. '

'But why has he chosen to humiliate her like this? Was he afraid Stella would find out? Did he care that much?'

She felt lost, haunted by these thoughts.

"Adeline." Sebastian's voice was soft, concerned. "Was that Jasper last night?"

Adeline closed her eyes. She nodded silently.

"I knew it!" Sebastian growled, his fists clenching.

"I'm going to give him a piece of my mind!" He followedafter Jasper.
