Chapter 868 The Father of Your Child

The air in the visitation room grew still.

Adeline stared at the woman in front of her, Tamsin, whose face was half-scarred.

"What's the deal?"

All she wanted now was to get out of here.

But Adeline knew clearly that if Jasper didn't change his mind, she had no chance of leaving. Even in prison, she was closely guarded by four female bodyguards he had arranged.

She wasn't free even in jail.

If Tamsin's demands weren't too much, why wouldn't she agree?

"The deal is, once you're out, you become the CEO of the Phoebe Group, and I become your secretary or assistant."

"You have to follow my lead on the Phoebe Group's business operations."

Adeline furrowed her brows, looking at her in confusion.

She had thought Tamsin would ask her to help her get back with Oliver.

But this was her request?

Seeing Adeline's confusion, Tamsin laughed.

"Even though Oliver and I have been apart for six years, I believe he's a man of deep feelings. His feelings for me haven't changed."

"And relationships are between two people. There's no need to involve a third person."

"I want to help you manage the Phoebe Group. First, because I want to take on someone like Jasper. Second…"

She smiled, making her face look even more eerie.

"I think if the Phoebe Group's issues aren't resolved, Oliver will be particularly exhausted, worrying about you and the company."

"So, I plan to stay by your side and help. Once the Phoebe Group's crisis is over, Oliver and I will naturally resolve our issues."

Listening to Tamsin, Adeline bit her lip.

Mia's face inexplicably flashed in her mind.

When Mia first came to Oceancrest City, she was looking for her child. But later, she didn't find the child and ended up having a relationship with Oliver.

Now, Mia was still Oliver's girlfriend.

And Mia was in Radiance Springs, taking care of Joseph and his newborn daughter.

Both Mia and the two children made it clear to Adeline that Oliver wasn't a man of deep feelings.

During the six years Tamsin was gone, he hadn't been celibate.

Adeline didn't believe that Oliver and Tamsin would get back together.

But Oliver was her brother.

She couldn't say a bad word about him.

So, she sighed and looked seriously at Tamsin.

"If your decisions and plans truly benefit the Phoebe Group and help it rise again, I'll agree to everything."

"If not, I won't agree unconditionally."

Tamsin smiled.

"Of course."

Then she shifted to a more comfortable position in her chair, a faint smile on her lips. "So, you agree?"

Adeline nodded.

She agreed to Tamsin, not just because she wanted to get out of jail.

She could see that Tamsin was a capable person, with a strong, stubborn pride typical of a powerful woman.

And she needed to resolve the issues between Oliver, Daisy, and herself.

Letting her stay at the Phoebe Group seemed like a good decision.

Seeing Adeline agree, Tamsin stood up with a smile.

"Wait for my news."

"I'll come to get you within three days."

With that, she strode out.

Adeline sat in her chair, watching Tamsin's back, and sighed deeply.

Maybe, as Mia's good friend, she shouldn't let Tamsin stay.

Some things don't disappear just because you don't face them.

She didn't want Mia to avoid problems like she did in the past, pushing her feelings and marriage to the brink.

Because of Tamsin's visit, Adeline tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep.

After a sleepless night, she finally dozed off at dawn.

At six in the morning, the guard woke her up for washing, breakfast, and exercise.

After running several laps on the field, the guard stopped her again.

Another woman was here to see her.

Adeline thought it must be Linda this time.

But to her surprise, it was the person she least wanted to see.

"What are you doing here?"

Adeline narrowed her eyes, looking at Daisy across the table in the visitation room, her lips curling with coldness.

"If you're here to mock me, you can leave now."

She had nothing to say to Daisy.

As soon as she finished speaking, Daisy shook her head vigorously.

"Adeline, what are you talking about?"

"You've been wronged and are in trouble. I'm heartbroken, not here to mock you."

Then she lowered her head, tears welling up.

Adeline frowned at her fake display, unwilling to say more.

"Is that all you came to say?"

"Now that I've heard it, you can leave."

With that, Adeline stood up and walked towards the cell.

Daisy quickly rushed to block her.

"Adeline, I came early in the morning to see you. Can't you spare me a little time?"

Her words made Adeline laugh coldly.

She looked up, coldly staring at Daisy's face.

"Time?"

"You've been kicked out of the Phoebe family. You have no value."

"I am the only young lady of the Phoebe family now."

"And you're just a stray dog."

Adeline's words were like a slap to Daisy's face.

The last thing Daisy wanted to be reminded of was being kicked out of the Phoebe family!

But now wasn't the time to get angry.

Daisy narrowed her eyes, gritting her teeth, but still smiled at Adeline.

"To me, you've always been family."

Then she took a deep breath, looking steadily at Adeline.

"I'm here to fulfill a promise."

"I told you before, if my wedding with Brandon went smoothly, I'd tell you who took your child buried under the cherry tree."

Her words made Adeline freeze.

She narrowed her eyes at Daisy.

"Who took my child?"

Seeing Adeline finally show interest, Daisy sighed and smiled.

"You know this person."

Adeline raised an eyebrow, looking at her coldly, saying nothing.

Daisy leaned back in her chair, elegantly watching Adeline.

"It was your child's father, Jasper."
