Chapter 175 Is Six Years Enough?

Her words cast a sudden stillness over the hospital room.

Jasper furrowed his brows, picked up a tissue from the table, and handed it to her. "I did love the Adeline from six years ago more than who you've become," he confessed.

"It's good that you're willing to change. But if it's going to hurt too much, then forget it."

Jasper didn't see why she had to change for him. After all, she had already done so much. He didn't want, as they were on the verge of parting ways, for her to struggle to please him.

"It won't hurt!" she insisted.

The moment he started to pull away, she clasped his hand with urgency in her eyes and voice. "Jasper, believe me, I can do it! I can be whoever you want me to be. Just tell me what you like, and I'll become that, okay?"

Jasper's brow twitched slightly.

Her desperate, almost crazed tone, made him feel unsettled.

The last woman who made him this uncomfortable was Mo Yushuang, the heiress from the Mo family in Las Vegas, the girl he was betrothed to since childhood.

"Jasper, please don't leave me, okay?" Her grip tightened, her voice and gaze growing more frantic. "I've always dreamed of marrying you, and now that I finally have you, I can't..."

Jasper squinted, looking down at her grasping his arm. "You've wanted to marry me since you were a little girl?"

He had known Adeline since she was seventeen. She always said he was the most wonderful encounter of her girlhood.

Yet, now she claimed it was a childhood dream to marry him.

His words made her stiffen.

She was motionless for a moment before awkwardly releasing his arm. "I... got carried away and misspoke."

Jasper faintly smiled and gently wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. "Your outburst just now reminded me of someone I once knew."

Her heart skipped, and she bit her lip, not daring to meet his eyes. "Who did I reminded you of?"

"Mo Yushuang."

He looked at her quietly, his voice deep. "I've mentioned her to you before. She was crazy."

Crazy.

As the words left his lips, Harper Starling tried in vain to suppress her emotions, yet her complexion turned visibly pale.

She was being called crazy by the man she adored. She turned her face away, coughed lightly, and laughed at herself mockingly. "Yeah, I guess I am crazy."

Jasper gave her a fleeting glance, noting her ashen face. "Harper. I hope you never become as unhinged as she is."

With that, he turned on his heel and walked away.

Harper leaned back against the hospital bed, watching his retreating figure, her hands clenching into tight fists.

Crazy.

Jasper called her crazy!

Well then, she would show him just how crazy she could be.

She was determined to stay by his side, to eliminate Adeline, drive away those two brats, and become the only one in his life.

"Mr. Stanford." Right after Jasper stepped out of the hospital room, Ryan hurried up to him attentively. "Is Mrs. Stanford all right?"

"She's fine."

The man strode off and then, as if suddenly remembering something, took out his phone and dialed Jason Smith.

"You mentioned that Megan Moore went missing?"

There was a pause as if Jason was surprised by the sudden inquiry, then he laughed. "Yeah."

"She's been obsessed with cosmetic surgery, scouring clinics at home and abroad. The Moore family asked me to find her recently, and I even checked all over Denver's plastic surgery clinics. But then, Mr. Moore told me they found her and I could stop searching."

After a brief chuckle, he teased, "What's this, freshly announced your divorce, and now you're looking for a rebound? But surely not with Megan Moore, right?"

Jasper laughed and continued marching forward. "Now that Megan Moore has been found... I'm off to Las Vegas on business next week, can you let Mr. Moore know? Tell him I'd like to meet Megan for dinner."

Jason frowned slightly. "Are pigs flying today? You're not actually rattled, are you? You've always..."

"I have some things I need to confirm with Megan Moore." Taking a deep breath, his voice low and serious, he said, "Do me a favor."

Jason, picking up on the gravity in his voice, stopped joking around. After a moment, he replied, "All right, I'll arrange it."

Ending the call, Jasper had just left the hospital when Ryan caught up with him from behind.

"Mr. Stanford, you just mentioned the Moores from Las Vegas, right?"

Jasper furrowed his brow and turned to look at him. "What about it?"

Ryan hurriedly grabbed a document and handed it over, "I've found the information you asked me to dig up.

"The puppet master behind the online opinion manipulation from that overseas company—I've nailed down the financier.

"It's someone named Morgan Wells. He's the same 'Old Morgan' who was on the phone with Madam."

As Ryan spoke, he opened the file and pointed to a line. "He's the butler for the Morgans in Las Vegas."

Jasper's temples throbbed violently as he reviewed the documents in his hands.

The financier of the foreign company, Old Morgan, was closely linked to Starling Quinn.

It turned out he was the Morgan's butler.

So, that meant her relationship with the Morgans...

Taking a deep breath, he closed the file. "Get me an appointment with the best plastic surgeon in Denver."

Ryan nodded vigorously. "I'm on it!"

Half an hour later, Violet cautiously entered Jasper's office with Ryan's guidance.

"Mr. Jasper."

This was the first time Violet stepped into Jasper's office. His office, just like him, was vast and chilling.

The woman silently made her way in and sat on the couch. "You urgently summoned me... Is something wrong with Adeline?"

Violet had been busy with a scar repair surgery all morning and had no time to check the news. She had barely left the operating room and hadn't even had time for lunch when Ryan brought her straight to Jasper.

"It's not about Adeline."

Jasper leaned back in his executive chair, eyes faintly surveying Violet's face. "Can you give me a detailed rundown on the current capabilities of plastic surgery?"

Violet blinked, looking back at Jasper bewilderedly. "What do you mean?"

The man's brow furrowed subtly as he laid out a photo of Jason Smith on his desk. "Ryan, hand this to Ms. Violet."

Ryan nodded and passed the photo to Violet.

"I want to know." Jasper gazed at her solemnly. "Is it feasible to make Ryan undergo plastic surgery to look like this man?"

His words made both Ryan and Violet pause.

After a moment, Violet caught on.

She scrutinized Ryan's face and compared it with the photo. "In theory, it's possible. It would require a considerable amount of financial and material resources, but most importantly, time..."

The man propped his chin with one hand, lazily gazing at Violet's face. "Would six years be enough?"
