Chapter 683 Was I Naggy Before
Jasper's words made Molly, who was trailing behind Larry, freeze in her tracks.
Her hands, which had been clenched at her sides, quietly slipped into her coat pockets.
Inside her black coat, she had hidden a pair of sharp pruning shears, freshly cleaned of blood.
Just a few hours ago, she had used these shears to kill the original female driver.
She had already calculated the distance in her mind.
If Jasper brought Adeline over, she could rush forward in an instant, aiming the sharp tip of the shears at Adeline's belly, killing her and the baby inside her instantly!
Behind her, Jasper's footsteps grew closer.
Jasper frowned as he looked at Molly's figure, feeling a sense of familiarity.
Just as Jasper was about to reach Molly, Larry cleared his throat and spoke up.
"Mr. Foster. This is an old acquaintance of the Foster family. Your grandmother used to love the flowers from her family's farm. Now that your grandmother has passed away, I specifically asked her to gather all the white flowers from her farm and bring them here. She just got lost. I'll take her to settle the bill and leave."
Larry was afraid Jasper would continue to blame her, so he quickly added.
"She definitely didn't mean to linger here. Please don't take it to heart."
Jasper frowned, about to say something, but his phone rang at that moment.
It was Ryan calling.
Ryan said, "We've located the clinic where Molly was staying."
Jasper's voice was low and cold. "Alright, I'll head over immediately."
He glanced once more at the florist standing next to Larry.
"Since she provided flowers that my grandmother liked, pay her double for today's white flowers. She doesn't need to come back in the future."
Larry was stunned for a moment, then quickly nodded. "Understood!"
He reached out and grabbed Molly's arm. "Let's go settle the bill."
Only then did Molly release her grip on the shears inside her coat.
As she followed Larry out, she listened to the sound of Jasper and Adeline's footsteps behind her, a cold smile forming on her lips.
Leaving the Foster family Mansion, Molly used the money from the bill to buy gasoline and drove straight towards Blue Bay.
At Blue Bay.
Blake was engrossed in checking the surveillance footage from the suburbs on his laptop.
Even though he had pulled up all the available footage, he couldn't find any trace of Molly after she left the clinic.
There were only two possibilities: either Molly had left the clinic a long time ago and the footage had been overwritten, or she was still at the clinic.
Blake sighed, hoping it was the second possibility.
If so, Jasper might come home early tonight.
He knew that besides Adeline being exhausted, Jasper was also very tired.
Not only did he have to cope with the loss of his only close relative, but he also had to handle the company's affairs and the family's matters.
Even though he didn't say it, Blake knew Jasper was extremely tired.
On the sofa nearby, Lauren was watching TV while peeling an orange and dividing it into three portions.
"One for Blake, one for me. One for Bennett, one for me. One for Mommy, one for me. And I'll take one more."
Bennett, sitting in his small wheelchair, watched Lauren with a doting smile.
No wonder she looked the most like Jasper among the three of them.
Her cleverness was also on par with Jasper's.
As the three kids enjoyed their time together, Adeline returned to the villa.
Exhausted, Adeline smiled as she looked at the three kids in the living room. "Why aren't you asleep yet?"
Lauren pouted and brought over the small fruit plate. "We were waiting for you to come back, Mommy. I was very worried about you yesterday, but Daddy wouldn't let me go to the police station with Ms. White to see you. Then I had to wait for you to come back before I could sleep!"
Adeline took the fruit plate from Lauren, about to praise her, when Bennett wheeled over and took the plate from Adeline's hands. "Go rest. Don't eat before bed, or you'll complain about gaining weight tomorrow."
Hearing Bennett's familiar caring words, Adeline sighed and ruffled his hair. "Got it, thank you!"
Lauren pouted. "Even though you've lost your memory, you're still as nagging as before."
Bennett frowned. "Was I very nagging before?"
Lauren put her hands on her hips. "Yes. Mommy said that once things settle down, she'll have Daddy help you regain your memory so you can see how nagging you were!"
Bennett's smile froze. "Nagging... isn't a bad thing."
"Yes, I like your nagging." Adeline pinched Bennett's nose.
She wanted to stay in the living room with the kids a bit longer, but she was too tired.
Sleepiness overcame her, and she could only tell them to go to bed early before heading upstairs.
Hearing the bedroom door close upstairs, Lauren quietly turned down the TV volume in the living room.
After a while, Lauren, who was already feeling sleepy, suddenly smelled gasoline.
She thought her nose was playing tricks on her and continued watching the news.
"This just in, a woman's body was found in a small forest in the suburbs. She was wearing clothes soaked in dirty water and was killed by a gardening shear piercing her heart. All her identification and cash were stolen, but nearby residents recognized her."
"The victim was Hestia Sharp, a 27-year-old florist who drove a van with the license plate AXXX6 to deliver flowers to the Foster family estate in Radiance Springs. She met with misfortune on the way, and the van is missing. The police are investigating the case..."
Lauren yawned and glanced at Bennett, who was looking out the window.
"Bennett, look, the news mentions the murdered woman was delivering flowers to Grandma."
Bennett nodded, then his gaze locked onto a van in the garden that shouldn't have been there at this time.
"Lauren, what was the license plate of the murdered woman's van?"
Lauren looked up at the TV screen. "It was AXXX6. What's wrong?"
Bennett's frown deepened as he said, "Blake, Lauren, you look. The van downstairs looks like the one that belonged to the murdered florist."
