Chapter 850 Don't Make Me Hit You!
When Adeline arrived at Crystal Heights Resort with Oliver, there was less than an hour left before the wedding started.
They signed in at the entrance.
Oliver impatiently gave their names.
Adeline, holding onto his arm, looked around.
The wedding venue was extravagantly decorated.
Daisy wasn't wrong; her wedding with Brandon was indeed far more luxurious than Adeline and Brandon's engagement party had been.
As she was looking around, a black sports car pulled up to the hotel entrance.
Standing at the lobby door, Adeline immediately noticed the woman stepping out of the car.
Giselle was indeed wearing the dress that Oliver had deliberately used to provoke her that afternoon.
The dress didn't suit Giselle at all.
Giselle was supposed to be a delicate and elegant woman, but the dress was too mature and sexy for her to pull off.
From a distance, Giselle looked like a child playing dress-up in her parents' clothes.
Adeline didn't believe for a second that Jasper couldn't see this.
If he truly cared about Giselle, he wouldn't have let her wear such an inappropriate dress.
But Giselle's proud and smug demeanor made it clear to Adeline that not only had Jasper not pointed out the dress's unsuitability, he had even complimented her.
Otherwise, she wouldn't be flaunting it so boldly.
Adeline stood still, watching the man in black step out of the car.
His gaze didn't linger on the woman holding his arm for even a second.
The first thing he did was lock eyes with Adeline.
Adeline gave him a polite smile.
"Shall we go in?"
Finally done with the registration, Oliver was visibly irritated.
He glanced at Adeline, following her line of sight.
He laughed out loud.
"She actually bought it? That dress was five grand."
"Didn't you say she was just Jasper's secretary?"
"Does the Foster Group pay their secretaries that well?"
Adeline gave him a look, still holding his arm, and turned towards the venue.
"What do you know?"
"If tonight's dress can make her stand out next to Jasper, and he takes a liking to her, what's twenty grand to her?"
Oliver was silent for a moment, then chuckled, "True, it's a strategic investment."
"But that dress had been unsold for two years. The fact that I managed to sell it makes me pretty impressive, right?"
Adeline and Oliver's voices weren't quiet, and Jasper and Giselle weren't far away.
Giselle heard every word.
Her face turned dark.
Only now did she realize she had been played by these two.
She glared at Adeline, her eyes filled with venom.
Five grand was no small amount for her.
She had maxed out all her credit cards to buy that dress!
She had thought the dress would make her the center of attention tonight, showing everyone that she was the woman by Jasper's side.
But it turned out to be a scheme by Adeline and that vile man next to her!
Seeing Giselle's glare, Jasper frowned slightly.
As he walked towards the venue entrance, Jasper lowered his voice, his tone icy.
"Giselle."
Hearing Jasper call her, Giselle quickly masked her anger and responded sweetly.
"Mr. Foster, I'm here. What do you need?"
"I made it clear to you last night, didn't I?"
Jasper looked straight ahead, his voice devoid of any emotion.
"My heart belongs to my ex-wife. There's no room for anyone else."
"I brought you here today because I didn't want to bother finding another woman."
"Don't waste your time on me, and don't get jealous because of me."
Jasper thought he had made himself very clear.
But Giselle heard something entirely different.
She nodded obediently, but inside, she was sneering.
Men's words are full of lies.
He claimed his heart only had room for his ex-wife, the mother of his children.
But what about Adeline?
She wasn't his ex-wife either, was she?
Giselle had heard from colleagues at Radiance Springs that Jasper's ex-wife had been dead for over six years.
If Adeline could be by Jasper's side, why couldn't she?
Taking a deep breath, she smiled sweetly.
"Mr. Foster, don't worry."
"I'll make sure you're satisfied."
At least for now, her heart and her side only had room for Jasper, no other man.
Unlike Adeline.
Thinking this, she couldn't help but glance at Adeline again.
Adeline was still holding onto the man's arm, looking like a couple in love.
A woman like that, how could she compare to her?
By now, Jasper and Giselle had reached the venue entrance.
The staff quietly asked for their names and their relationship to the evening's main characters.
Jasper smiled elegantly.
"Jasper, Giselle."
"And your relationship to the main characters tonight?"
He smiled faintly, "Enemies."
With that simple statement, the entrance fell silent.
Everyone stared at Jasper in shock.
Those with sharp eyes quickly recognized him as the CEO of the Foster Group.
"What's he doing here?"
"He nearly bankrupted the Phoebe and Torres families! How dare he show up at this wedding!"
"I heard the Torres and Phoebe families didn't need to hold this wedding, but they were forced to because of the Foster Group's attacks. They had to merge through marriage to survive!"
"He pushed them to this point, and now he shows up at their wedding!"
The murmurs around her made Giselle bite her lip.
She glanced at Jasper.
He stood there, expressionless, looking at the staff.
"Write it down."
The staff hesitated, unsure if they should.
One of them secretly called Brandon.
Soon, Brandon appeared at the entrance, dressed in a white suit with gold trim.
He looked grand and solemn, though his hat didn't quite match his role as the groom.
Seeing Jasper, Brandon's eyes narrowed, and he approached with a cold smile.
"Jasper, today is my wedding with Daisy. Get lost."
"Don't make me hit you!"
"Is that so?"
Jasper smiled elegantly, adjusting his cufflinks.
"What if I want to make you hit me?"
"Are you sure you can beat me?"
