Chapter 365 Are You That Impressive?
Adeline and Mia arrived at the mall to find Thomas already standing at the entrance with a large bouquet of roses.
Adeline hadn't seen him for over a month.
Back in Neon City, Thomas had a dark stubble and wore a blue and black jacket that gave him a sinister and cunning demeanor.
But now, he was dressed in a white suit, looking clean and bright.
The bouquet in his arms was large, probably amounting to 99 roses.
Roses of such quality and in such quantity were beyond the means of someone like him, who toiled for every dollar.
Adeline could even deduce that he likely bought them with Mia's money.
Thinking of this, she glanced at Mia beside her. "You should get out of the car."
Sitting in the car, when Mia looked at Thomas holding the roses outside, for the first time, she felt not joy but irritation.
In the past, even if he gave her just a bottle of drink, she would jump with joy.
But now, looking at the roses, she couldn't help but think of the photos Tim had shown her.
If the photos were real, did he also give flowers to Grace like this?
Thinking of this, she struggled to breathe.
Although reluctant to leave the car, Thomas had already recognized their car from the mall entrance.
Thus, he walked over to the car with the large bouquet of roses.
He even smiled gently as he opened the car door. "Mia, do I have to invite you out of the car myself?"
However, what he didn't expect was that when he opened it, the first person he saw wasn't Mia.
It was Adeline, who was comatose for over a month and had just woken up not long ago.
His brows furrowed tightly, and his gaze towards Adeline turned cold. "Why are you in Mia's car?"
"We ran into each other and decided to catch up." Adeline said calmly.
Compared to his shock, Adeline was much calmer.
She got out of the car through the door he had opened, glancing lightly at his roses. "You really are romantic."
After saying that, she turned to Mia in the car. "You should get out."
Mia bit her lip, sighed, and then got out of the car.
Thomas ignored Adeline and eagerly handed the roses to Mia.
"Do you like them?" He asked.
Mia's face turned slightly pale. "I like them."
In fact, she didn't want to accept them.
She wanted to directly ask him about the photos; whether he was lying to her!
But before coming, Adeline had repeatedly told her to stay calm until she had evidence.
Thus, she could only continue pretending, but she still dared not meet Thomas's gaze.
She turned her face away, holding the bouquet and walking into the mall. "Let's go inside first."
Thomas noticed that Mia was a bit off.
He squinted his eyes, slowed his pace, and lowered his voice to speak to Adeline, "What did you tell her?"
"Nothing much." Adeline said.
She smirked and raised an eyebrow at him. "Jasper has already explained everything to me."
"You're not his man, nor were you ordered to kill my child."
After saying that, she yawned. "I've lost two children now; I don't have time to deal with you."
"I just wanted to catch up with Mia. After all, I don't have many friends, and she's one of them."
She raised an eyebrow at him. "Seeing a friend I like get married is quite a happy thing; don't you think?"
He squinted.
He didn't believe a word Adeline said.
"Adeline." Mia, who hadn't walked far, thought of Adeline.
She handed the roses to the bodyguard standing nearby. Just as she was about to speak to Adeline, she noticed Thomas glaring fiercely at Adeline.
That look made her heart tighten.
It was the first time she had seen him with such an expression.
Instinctively, she walked over, then grabbed and shielded Adeline behind her. "Thomas, it was a misunderstanding that Adeline put me in the mental hospital."
"I don't hold it against her, so you shouldn't, either."
"She's here today to help me pick out a ring with you; don't make it difficult for her."
Her words made Thomas relax a bit.
He frowned and glanced at Adeline, then smiled. "Well, it must be hard for Miss Wilson to make some free time and help us pick out a ring."
Adeline smiled lightly. "I'm not busy; I have plenty of free time."
His expression changed.
Mia didn't care about his thoughts anymore and directly linked arms with Adeline, leading her into the mall.
"This mall used to be owned by the Whites, but it was sold due to poor performance."
"I don't even know who the current owner is."
After saying that, she walked directly towards the jewelry counter.
"But it doesn't matter; my task now is to buy whatever I want." she said.
Adeline frowned and glanced at the jewelry in the mall's display cases.
With just one look, she knew the current owner of the mall was Jasper.
The jewelry pieces displayed in front of her were many that she had seen before, and some were even her designs.
"Ms. White." Seeing Mia, the jewelry store clerk greeted her warmly.
"Are you here to buy a wedding ring?"
Mia was flushed. "Yes."
"Please take a look over here." The clerk said.
As the clerk explained, Adeline leaned on the counter, almost falling asleep.
She had to admit the clerk was gifted in persuading customers.
But when explaining the product designs, it was far from her design concepts.
Just as Adeline was about to fall asleep, Thomas walked over.
He placed a glass of water in front of her, then crossed his arms and leaned on the chair. He looked at her coldly. "I didn't expect you to still be alive."
She also smiled. "I didn't expect Mr. Turner to be engaged."
He squinted his eyes.
He lowered his voice. "Adeline, if you know what's good for you, leave now while Mia is busy picking out a ring."
"Otherwise, don't you think she will ignore everything you said if I explain everything to her??"
She chuckled. "Are you that powerful?"
"Of course." He said.
He took a sip of water, his gaze cold. "Miss Wilson, you should know how powerful I am."
"Six years ago, I hit you with my car. I thought I had killed you, but you survived."
"Recently at Neon City airport, you had a miscarriage, and I dragged you to a deserted corner. You were almost beyond saving. Remember?"
She squinted, her hands clenched into fists at her sides.
However, Thomas continued to gloat.
"Leave now, and I might spare your life."
Adeline laughed.
