Chapter 748 Can You Wake Up Quickly, Please?
Daisy's words made Adeline's eyes flash with sudden sharpness.
She narrowed her eyes and turned around, glaring at Daisy, who was sitting in the chair.
"A stray dog?"
Staring at Daisy's slightly pale face, Adeline let out a cold laugh. "Daisy, have you been the Phoebe family's daughter for so long that you think your position is unshakable?"
"If Jasper really doesn't want me anymore, I'll definitely go back to the Phoebe family."
"By then, who will be the stray dog is still uncertain!"
Under Daisy's shocked and fearful gaze, Adeline turned and strode away.
Once out of the restaurant, Adeline got into her car, and tears finally welled up in her eyes.
Actually, Daisy wasn't wrong.
If Jasper didn't come for her, didn't want her anymore... she would indeed be a stray dog without a home.
Adeline lowered her head, took out her phone, and silently sent a message to Jasper:
"I know you're very busy, too busy to come see me."
"The Phoebe family gave me seven days. If I don't see you in seven days, I'll have to go back to the Phoebe family."
"If you don't come to take me home as promised... I'll go back to my original home."
"Jasper, don't let me down."
After sending these messages, Adeline was already crying uncontrollably.
She clutched her phone tightly, memories of her time with Jasper flashing before her eyes.
There weren't many happy memories between them.
But... when Molly schemed against her and Lauren, Jasper had climbed the Ferris wheel and rushed into the fire... When Luna hurt Blake and her, Jasper had held her tightly in his arms.
He had gotten injured on Maple Avenue for her, thrown her a birthday party... And last time, at her engagement ceremony with Brandon, he had apologized to her with red eyes.
During this time outside Magnolia Estate, he had changed himself and recorded heartfelt messages for her.
Adeline didn't believe that Jasper would be as heartless as they said, just because she was from the Phoebe family.
Adeline gripped her phone tightly.
Seven days passed.
She would give herself and Jasper seven more days.
If Jasper really didn't want her anymore because she was from the Phoebe family, she wouldn't continue to humiliate herself.
At Radiance Springs, in the hospital where Jasper was.
Jason stood by Jasper's side, looking at his sleeping face, and sighed deeply.
Next to Jasper was a completely broken phone, its screen flickering weakly.
Jason sighed, took the phone, and handed it to his assistant as he walked out the door.
"See if you can recover the data."
This phone was Jasper's personal contact phone. Although it didn't contain any business secrets, since it lit up, someone must be trying to reach him.
Seven days later, the assistant returned with the phone.
"Mr. Smith, we tried everything, but we couldn't recover it... The core chip is broken, and none of the repair technicians could fix it."
Jason sighed, took out the broken SIM card, and put it into a new phone of the same model, placing it by Jasper's pillow.
Jasper was still unconscious.
Looking at his pale face, Jason sighed again.
"Jasper, are you really not going to wake up and see?"
"Adeline, she..."
Today, he received news from Ryan and David in Oceancrest City.
Zara from the Phoebe family had indeed recovered.
But the Phoebe family claimed that the herb Jasper had risked his life to collect was delivered by Brandon.
The Phoebe family announced a strategic partnership with the Torres family to fend off certain groups invading Oceancrest City.
The group they referred to was clearly Jasper's Foster Group.
What Jason couldn't accept was that the Phoebe family announced a grand banquet tonight to welcome their true daughter, Adeline, back to the Phoebe family.
When Jason heard this news, he couldn't believe his ears!
Adeline was actually going to become a member of the Phoebe family.
Jasper had risked his life to collect the herb to cure Zara's illness so that Adeline wouldn't have to return to the Phoebe family and oppose him.
But what was the result?
The herb Jasper collected became Brandon's.
The woman Jasper loved the most became a member of the Phoebe family.
Jason took a deep breath, looking at the unconscious man before him.
"Jasper, are you really not going to see?"
There were only five hours left until Adeline's banquet at the Phoebe family.
If Jasper woke up immediately and took a private jet to Oceancrest City... maybe there was still time.
If he didn't wake up... Adeline would truly become a member of the Phoebe family.
By then, there would be no way to turn things around.
As Jason was lamenting, the door to the hospital room was pushed open from the outside.
In came Blake, Bennett, and Lauren.
"Mr. Smith, please arrange a flight path. We need to take Dad to Oceancrest City."
Bennett took a deep breath, stepped forward, and spoke calmly.
"Mom is about to become a member of the Phoebe family. There's no time left."
Lauren nodded, "Adults' matters are not for us kids to interfere with, but we have the right to help Dad one last time."
"Even if Dad doesn't wake up, we need to take him to the banquet to let Mom know that Dad didn't abandon her. He just fell unconscious while collecting the herb."
Blake glanced at the time. "If we leave now, by the time we reach the Phoebe family in Oceancrest City, the banquet might have already started."
"So I've already contacted Ryan and David to cause a disturbance near the venue. They will control the timing perfectly."
Jason looked up, deeply gazing at the three kids, and finally made a decision.
"Alright." He had been tormented for the past week.
On one hand, he wanted to find Adeline and explain everything, but their last meeting made it clear that Adeline wouldn't believe him.
On the other hand, he was afraid of saying the wrong thing and making things worse.
Now... since it had come to the final moment, he was willing to accompany these three kids and take a desperate gamble.
With that in mind, Jason immediately called to arrange a flight path while contacting the hospital to get an ambulance to take the unconscious Jasper to the airport.
Initially, Jason didn't want the three kids to come along.
Firstly, the journey would be exhausting, and the kids might not be able to handle it.
Secondly, Oceancrest City was full of dangers, and he couldn't guarantee their safety.
But under the kids' insistence, he eventually relented.
They boarded the plane as quickly as possible.
As the plane took off, Lauren held Jasper's hand tightly in her palm.
"Dad, didn't you say you would never let go of Mom?"
"If you don't wake up soon, Mom will let go of you."
"Please wake up, okay?"
Whether it was because he heard Lauren's plea or his body was finally recovering, Jasper's fingers moved slightly in response to Lauren's tearful voice.
