Chapter 711 Did You Go to See Jasper

In the night.

Crystal Heights Resort, the largest five-star hotel in Oceancrest City, was lit up like a Christmas tree.

A banner with Adeline and Brandon's names was prominently displayed.

A photo of the two embracing was placed at the hotel entrance.

Everyone who passed by looked at the photo with admiration and emotion.

"What a perfect couple! It's a shame about Mr. Torres' leg." A man passing by couldn't help but sigh.

"You don't get it. This is true love!"

The woman holding the man's arm chuckled softly. "Ms. Wilson choosing to marry him now; that's real love."

The man quickly nodded in agreement, and the two walked inside together.

Listening to their conversation, a woman in a white dress standing at the hotel entrance curled her lips into a cold smile.

She clutched her diamond-studded handbag, standing elegantly and calmly as she waited.

Soon, a black Maserati pulled up to the hotel entrance.

The driver's door opened, and a man in a black suit stepped out.

Daisy quickly smiled and approached him. "Mr. Foster."

Jasper's eyes lifted slightly when he heard Daisy's voice. "Ms. Phoebe, what a coincidence."

"Not really. I was waiting for you." She smiled as she walked over, glancing at Jasper's car. "Why did you come alone? Where are your assistant and driver?"

Jasper took long strides toward the hotel entrance.

"They couldn't keep up. After battling with the Phoebe family's elite for just seven days, they all collapsed and are now sleeping in the hotel."

He glanced at Daisy. "The Phoebe family impressed me this time. I thought you wouldn't make it through last night."

Daisy smiled gracefully, looking ahead. "Thanks to Mr. Foster's mercy."

As she spoke, she linked her arm with Jasper's, her voice clear. "We both have something in common. I was Brandon's ex-fiancée, and you were Adeline's ex-husband. Why don't we pair up?"

Jasper looked at Daisy's hand on his arm with slight disdain, a smile on his lips. "Of course."

They walked into the venue arm in arm.

On the second-floor balcony, Adeline stood with Brandon, looking down at the people entering the venue.

Brandon, for some reason, insisted on standing there to see who was arriving tonight.

Adeline, unfamiliar with the people of Oceancrest City, looked around absentmindedly.

Suddenly, Brandon spoke, "Jasper's here."

Adeline was startled and quickly looked toward the entrance.

Jasper was walking in, arm in arm with a tall, slender woman.

And that woman was Daisy, who had stepped on Adeline's head in the restaurant yesterday!

She bit her lip, feeling a mix of emotions as she remembered Daisy was her biological sister.

"It seems Jasper went to great lengths to prove your importance to him." Brandon's voice came again.

Adeline was momentarily stunned, then understood what Brandon meant.

Jasper had been fiercely attacking the Phoebe family these past few days, and Daisy was a member of that family.

They were supposed to be mortal enemies.

Now, Jasper was proving that his feelings for Adeline outweighed his hatred for the Phoebe family by attending her engagement party with Daisy.

But it was too late.

If Jasper had shown her this earlier, maybe things could have turned around.

Trying to win her back after she decided to leave him was laughable.

Adeline lowered her eyes, glancing at Jasper and Daisy again, a cold smile on her lips.

"I'm going to get some air on the balcony."

She turned and left.

Brandon wheeled himself around, watching her leave, and called over a waiter. "Keep an eye on her."

Tonight, she had to become his woman, his fiancée!

At the end of the second-floor hallway was a balcony where Adeline stood, letting the night breeze cool her face.

She kept telling herself not to soften, not to forgive Jasper, not to give in!

Jasper didn't deserve her forgiveness or her efforts!

"Found you."

Suddenly, a female voice pulled Adeline from her thoughts.

The voice sounded familiar.

Adeline turned, frowning.

Behind her, a woman in a red dress stood, someone she hadn't seen in a long time—Mia!

Mia leaned against the railing, a cigarette in her mouth, carefully scrutinizing Adeline.

"First time seeing you this pretty."

Adeline was both surprised and delighted. "What are you doing here?"

"Of course, I came to crash your engagement party after hearing the news."

Mia rolled her eyes. "Didn't I message you? I'm in Oceancrest City looking for my son."

She blew out a smoke ring. "But it's strange. I've searched all over Radiance Springs for an older, fat, ugly man who brought a son back six years ago, and found nothing. I suspect Daphne lied to me. I had my people beat her up a few times, but she still insists my son was taken by someone from Oceancrest City. She said I should expand my search to any man."

Mia grew more agitated, extinguishing her cigarette. "Where do I even start?"

She turned to Adeline. "And you, getting engaged so soon, and not to Jasper. What's going on?"

Adeline was silent for a moment. "It's a long story. In short, I won't give Jasper another chance. Since I met him, I've been giving him chances, giving him time. In the end, I became the least important person to him. I'm really tired."

Mia frowned. "What happened to you?"

Was Adeline not significant in Jasper's eyes?

How utterly absurd this was.

Jasper loved her so much he'd give his life for her.

"Nothing."

Adeline sniffled, about to say more when her communicator buzzed.

It was Brandon.

"Mia, I have to go. We'll catch up after the engagement party."

She turned to leave.

Mia watched her go, unable to resist a warning.

"Are you sure you'll be happy marrying this man?"

Adeline frowned. "What do you mean?"

Mia walked over, kicking the unconscious waiter on the ground. "I just knocked him out. Brandon sent him to follow you. A man who can't let you out of his sight for a moment—are you sure you want to marry him?"

Adeline glanced at the waiter, smiling. "It might be a misunderstanding. Brandon trusts me and wouldn't do this."

She walked away.

Mia rolled her eyes, pulling out her phone to video call Blake.

"Get your siblings. We need a meeting!"

Adeline returned to Brandon, who smiled while holding her hand and asked, "Does Jasper like to smoke?"

Adeline paused. "Why do you ask?"

Brandon sighed. "The scent of smoke lingers on you. Did you go see Jasper?"
