Chapter 410 How Dare You Hit My Wife?

In the fresh market, Adeline, while glancing at the information Violet had sent her on various foods, pushed her shopping cart and meticulously selected the appropriate ingredients.

There were guests at home tonight, and it had been several days since she had made something delicious for Blake and Lauren.

Vikram and Blake, both about to undergo surgery, rarely had a meal together, so she had to make something good for them.

She needed to avoid the ingredients Vikram hadn't touched at lunch and ensure a variety of flavors to satisfy the appetite of a nineteen-year-old man and two six-year-old kids.

While she was looking down at her phone, the shopping cart she was pushing accidentally bumped into the person in front of her.

A woman's wail came from ahead. "Are you blind?"

Adeline snapped back to reality and quickly apologized, "I'm sorry."

When she looked up, she realized that the woman in front of her, dressed in a cheap T-shirt and acting like a shrew, was Diana,  someone she knew.

Diana, the former Quinn family butler's daughter, used to help Evelyn against her multiple times.

Evelyn had been dead for over a month now, and during this time, Adeline hadn't heard any news related to the Quinn family. She certainly didn't expect to run into Diana here.

The Diana in front of her now was much more down-and-out compared to when Evelyn was backing her.

She had gained weight, stopped wearing makeup, and her clothes had changed from the previously exquisite designer brands to cheap T-shirts and floral pants available at the market.

Diana probably didn't expect to meet Adeline in such a place either.

She was stunned for a few seconds, and a trace of coldness flashed across her plump face."Adeline? You're still alive!"

Adeline narrowed her eyes, her voice turning cold. "Why wouldn't I be alive?"

Diana squinted. "You used to care so much about your kids. I thought when Bennett died, you would die with him! I didn't expect you to be not only alive and well"

Diana glanced at the items in Adeline's shopping cart, a hint of coldness at the corners of her mouth. She said, "Buying so much stuff, what are you celebrating?"

Adeline's grip on the shopping cart tightened fiercely.

Adeline thought, 'Nobody knows how difficult it was for me to come out of the shadow of Bennett's death! What right did Diana, an outsider, have to judge me like this?'

Adeline squinted her eyes tightly at Diana. "And what about you?"

"Evelyn jumped off a building. Why are you still alive?"

Hearing Adeline mention Evelyn, Diana stiffened violently.

Diana shouted, "You have no right to mention Evelyn!"

She glared at Adeline angrily andexclaimed loudly,"You killed Evelyn! It's all your fault! What right do you have to mention her! You murderer!"

Diana's voice attracted the attention of almost everyone around.

Anthony Sanchez, a corpulent and menacing man, stormed over and seized Diana into his embrace. "Honey, what's the matter?

Diana sniffled and directly pointed at Adeline."Honey, she's the one I told you about, the woman who killed my best friend! Not only did she kill my best friend, but she also killed her son!"

Anthony, holding Diana, looked at Adeline fiercely, then glanced at the items in her shopping cart, his voice cold. "How can there be a mother like you in this world?"

Adeline narrowed her eyes, looking coldly at Anthony in front of her, a slight smirk on her lips. "I'm not your mom. How I mother others is none of your business."

"You!" Anthony glared at Adeline viciously, "What did you say!"

Adeline chuckled lightly. "I was just wondering why Diana left New York City for Radiance Springs. Turns out she married someone from here."

After saying that, she glanced coldly at Diana. "Didn't the New York City police contact you?"

"Even though Evelyn is dead, the crimes she committed still remain."

"Ms. Martinez, since you are so well-versed in the details of the past, aware of Bennett's death, and cognizant of Evelyn's demise, could it be that you were an accomplice?"

"What do you think would happen if I called the police right now?"

Adeline's words made Diana's face turn deathly pale.

Anthony glanced at Diana in his arms, squinting his eyes and glaring viciously at Adeline."You wicked woman! No wonder your son died!"

While comforting Diana in his arms, he pointed at Adeline's nose and cursed, "It's been so long, but you still want to blame my wife!"

"Why didn't other people's sons die, but yours did?"

"Isn't it because you're evil and have done too many bad things!"

"I heard you have more than one child?"

"It is possible that your remaining child might also perish due to your malevolence."

Anthony's words completely enraged Adeline.

Before he could finish, Adeline angrily grabbed something nearby and threw it at him. "Say that again?"

Anthony, feeling the pain from being hit,put Diana down, charging directly at Adeline.

"Jasper, shouldn't you send someone to help?" From a distance, Luna, holding Jasper's arm, said gently, "Miss Wilson surely can't beat that fat man, right?"

Luna continued, "After all, she's a woman. Even if her words are sharp, she shouldn't be hit."

Jasper's hands silently clenched into fists at his sides.

Anthony's words were indeed extremely excessive for Adeline, who had just lost Bennett and had Blake suffering from a terminal illness. Jasper squinted his eyes and was about to rush forward, but Luna held him back tightly.

"Jasper." Luna's voice was soft and tender. "You should call Ryan and have him bring people over. The company is only five or six minutes away from here; there's still time."

After saying that, she leaned her head on Jasper's shoulder, looking aggrieved. "That man is so strong; I'm afraid you'll get hurt."

"Besides, didn't you promise me to draw a clear line with Miss Wilson for my sake?"

"If you rush over now, she'll definitely misunderstand that you still have feelings for her."

Jasper looked up and glanced in Adeline's direction again.

The crowd watching the commotion had completely surrounded Adeline, Diana, and Anthony, making it impossible to see through.

Some people in the crowd were cheering, while others were trying to stop the fight.

Jasper couldn't see Adeline's situation. The intense unease and worry made him shake off Luna's arm like a madman. "Even if the one getting hurt today isn't Adeline, I shouldn't just stand by and do nothing."

Then Jasper strode into the crowd.

After being shaken off, Luna took several steps back before finally regaining her balance.

She gritted her teeth, watching Jasper's determined back as he rushed into the crowd, a deep resentment flashing in her eyes.

Luna thought, 'He still cares about Adeline so much!'

She bit her lip and quickly followed.

In the center of the crowd, Adeline was not entirely at a disadvantage.

She had Diana's fat body pinned down, and whenever Anthony tried to move her, she would slap Diana.

After several slaps, Diana's face was already very swollen.

Anthony, worried about Diana, didn't dare to touch Adeline for a moment.

Diana, pinned down by Adeline, struggled but couldn't break free, becoming increasingly flustered.

Seeing that they were about to be taught a lesson by Adeline alone, Diana suddenly shouted,  "Jasper! Look at her, acting like a shrew! You were right to leave her!"

Diana's words made Adeline stiffen.

Taking advantage of her distraction, Diana quickly signaled Anthony with her eyes.

Together, they pinned Adeline to the ground.

"How dare you hit my wife?" Anthony snorted coldly and raised his hand, slapping it towards Adeline's face.
