Chapter 860 I Want to See Jasper

Seeing the light in Adeline's eyes dim, Oliver sighed and pulled out a contract from his pocket, placing it in front of her.

"I didn't sleep at all last night. After dealing with your situation, I went back to the Phoebe Group to get a handle on things."

He looked up at Adeline.

"It's more complicated than I thought."

"Daisy is incredibly foolish. Under Brandon's influence, she tied all the Phoebe Group's industries to the Torres family. Their fates are now intertwined."

"You know what happened to the Torres Group last night."

Oliver pushed the contract towards Adeline.

"So now the Phoebe family is also in a precarious situation."

"I need to help both the Phoebe family and the Torres family through this crisis before I can start separating them."

"I need your help."

Adeline frowned and glanced at the agreement in front of her.

It was almost identical to the one Brandon had given her before, asking her to sign to unfreeze the assets to revive the Phoebe Group.

Adeline smirked, borrowed a pen, and signed it without hesitation.

She handed the signed contract to Oliver.

"Thanks for all your hard work."

She knew very well that even if she didn't go out, she would still have to sign this agreement.

If the Phoebe family and the Torres family weren't at the end of their rope, Daisy and Brandon wouldn't be so desperate to get her to release the funds.

And even if she wasn't in prison, Oliver would still have to handle everything.

The situation now wasn't much different from when she was outside.

Thinking about this, she took a deep breath and looked steadily at Oliver's face.

"If possible, could you find Jasper and have him visit me?"

"I need to see him."

Oliver was silent for a moment, then nodded heavily.

"Alright."

He didn't tell Adeline that Jasper was actually outside with Giselle's parents.

Soon, visiting hours arrived, and Oliver got up to leave.

As he walked to the office lobby, he saw Giselle's parents still clinging to an older officer, crying and complaining.

"The murderer must be Adeline! It has to be her!"

"Adeline and our daughter both liked Mr. Foster!"

"They met several times before, and each time ended badly. They even fought and ended up at the police station once!"

"Isn't that enough motive for murder?"

"Why are you fixated on that fingerprint, saying Adeline is only 50% suspect?"

"Is that fingerprint really that important?"

Giselle's mother grabbed the officer's sleeve, crying uncontrollably.

"Giselle was our treasure!"

"She was our pride! She was only twenty!"

"And now she's gone, and you can't even convict that woman. How are we supposed to live?"

"If you dare release that woman, we'll kill ourselves right in front of your station!"

Giselle's mother hysterically clung to the officer, while Yosef held her and wept, constantly praising Giselle.

Oliver couldn't agree with their words.

If Giselle was truly that outstanding, she wouldn't have insulted Adeline out of jealousy, nor spent twenty times her salary on a dress to outshine others at a wedding.

But now that she was dead, it wasn't right to judge.

Giselle's actions were minor evils, and she didn't deserve such a tragic end.

As Oliver stared blankly at the scene in the lobby, Jasper looked up.

The two men locked eyes.

Jasper raised an eyebrow. "Looking for me?"

Oliver nodded.

He called Jasper over to the door and lowered his voice.

"Adeline wants you to visit her. She wants to see you."

Jasper smirked.

"That's surprising."

For nearly a year, whether Adeline was staying at Mia's Magnolia Estate or the suburban cottage, every meeting was initiated by him.

Now, she was locked up and actively seeking him out.

"Nothing surprising about it."

Oliver glanced indifferently at the distressed couple behind Jasper.

"You accused Adeline. It's only natural she wants to see you."

Oliver thought he had kept his voice as low as possible.

But Giselle's parents still heard him.

The word "accused" made Giselle's mother, Briar Hill, widen her eyes.

She pulled Yosef and stormed towards Oliver.

"What nonsense are you spouting?"

"We accused Adeline?"

Briar pointed at the police computer's surveillance footage, tears streaming down her face.

"The surveillance clearly shows everything!"

"Every time Adeline met our daughter, there was conflict!"

"Even before the wedding last night, there was a confrontation at the door!"

"Who else could have killed our daughter?"

"Besides, the security guard's statement said Giselle's last words were asking Adeline why she was killing her!"

"With all this evidence, you still say 'accused'? Do you have any conscience?"

Compared to Briar's agitation, Yosef was much calmer.

He frowned, looked at the video footage again, then at Oliver, and sneered.

"Don't waste your breath on him. He's the man who humiliated our daughter at the mall and wedding venue."

"He's Adeline's brother!"

Standing next to Oliver, Briar immediately slapped him hard.

Oliver was caught off guard and couldn't dodge.

The crisp sound of the slap echoed through the police station.

Everyone stared in shock.

This man was the heir to the Phoebe Group.

But Briar, having just lost her daughter, didn't care.

She glared at Oliver.

"Adeline deserves to die, and so do you!"

"Her whole family deserves to die!"

She raised her hand again.

But before she could slap him, Jasper caught her wrist mid-air.

He frowned. "Briar, that's enough."

Oliver wasn't someone to be easily bullied.

"I'll let this slap go."

With his face turned to the side, Oliver coldly looked at Briar.

"After all, I did participate in teasing your daughter yesterday. Consider this slap as repayment."

"But."

Oliver narrowed his eyes, his voice and gaze icy.

"If you dare touch me again, I won't be polite."

"And if I say my sister is innocent, she is innocent. She would never commit murder."

He then coldly glanced at Jasper.

"Mr. Foster, what do you think?"

"Do you believe Adeline is the murderer?"
