Chapter 414 Luna Wasn't Faking Illness

Jasper rolled up to Blue Bay just as Adeline was saying goodbye to Vikram.

They stepped out of the villa, chatting and laughing like old pals.

Jasper parked his ride in the shadows, cracked the window, and eavesdropped on their convo.

Adeline, rocking her new fancy outfit, walked ahead, grinning as she strolled with Vikram. "Sorry about today. I wanted you to try my cooking, but something came up at the market."

She shot Vikram a smile. "Tomorrow, nothing's gonna mess up. Come over tomorrow night and try it."

Vikram grinned back. "Cool. I didn't bring the stuff today, so I'll bring it tomorrow."

He glanced at Adeline. "By the way, is there anything Blake and Lauren like? Can't show up empty-handed."

Adeline sighed. "You don't need to bring gifts. Your visit is the best gift."

She thought, 'Vikram's already planning to donate his bone marrow to save Blake. How can I ask him to buy gifts for the kids?'

Her words made Vikram pause. Adeline treating him like a hero made him feel guilty. After all, he was just a fraud.

Knowing she misunderstood him, he didn't clear things up. He even wanted to use her gratitude for his own gain. The more polite and grateful she was, the guiltier he felt.

Vikram secretly vowed that once his business was done, he'd apologize to Adeline and do something to make up for it.

He took a deep breath and looked at Adeline seriously. "Blake and Lauren will definitely get better."

"Thank you." Adeline smiled, and the car picking up Vikram flashed its hazard lights, signaling him to leave.

Vikram turned to Adeline again. "I'm the one who should be thanking you."

With that, he hopped into the car, and it drove off.

Adeline stood there, watching until the car disappeared. She took a deep breath and turned to head back to the villa.

But just a few steps in, someone grabbed her wrist tightly.

Adeline turned back, wary.

It was Jasper, his face full of anger.

"Jasper?" Adeline frowned, struggling as she coldly looked at him. "Why are you here?"

She thought, 'Shouldn't he be at Emerald Crest Estate? What's he doing here?'

"What, I can't come?" Jasper squinted, tightened his grip, and pulled her closer. "Vikram can come; why can't I?"

Adeline squinted slightly. "When did you get here?"

Jasper said, "Since you and Vikram started getting all cozy."

He trapped Adeline in his arms, his cold voice mixed with anger. "Adeline, I never realized you were so open. How long have you known Vikram? Not even 24 hours, and you brought him home!"

Trapped in his arms, Adeline struggled angrily. "How long I've known him or whether I bring him home, what's it to you? Jasper, aren't you overstepping a bit?"

Compared to Jasper, Adeline's strength was nothing.

She couldn't break free and was held even tighter.

In her anger, Adeline lost her composure. She struggled with all her might, using both hands and feet. "Jasper, let go of me! Don't hold me! You make me feel sick! I want to throw up!"

The more she cursed, the colder Jasper's eyes got, and the tighter he held her.

Adeline's angry voice echoed loudly in the quiet villa area.

Jasper squinted; if this kept up, it would definitely wake Blake and Lauren.

Luckily, his car was nearby. Jasper made up his mind, scooped Adeline up, and marched to the car. He opened the door and shoved her inside.

After the car door slammed shut, Jasper locked it, walked around, opened the driver's door, and slid in. "I think you should know, my car has top-notch soundproofing."

Adeline bit her lip hard, glaring at Jasper's smug face. "Jasper!"

"No one can hear you." Jasper crossed his arms and leaned back, his indifferent gaze falling on Adeline through the rearview mirror. "Can we talk properly now?"

Adeline glared at him angrily but stayed silent.

Seeing her finally quiet down, Jasper squinted slightly and said calmly, "Adeline, have you forgotten what you promised Sebastian's parents? You said you wouldn't get married or date anyone other than the person you were gonna marry within three years."

Jasper squinted. "Did you forget your own words so quickly? Is Vikram so good that he made you forget your vow?"

Jasper's deep, cold voice made Adeline clench her fists tightly at her sides.

She coldly curled her lips. "Mr. Foster, do you think that inviting Vikram to my house for dinner on the first day we met means I'm indiscreet?"

Jasper squinted. "What else?"

"And what about Mr. Foster?" Adeline raised her head, looking at Jasper's face through the rearview mirror, her voice and gaze equally cold. "On the very first day Mr. Foster met Ms. Jones, you invited her to stay at Emerald Crest Estate, where you dined and resided together."

Adeline continued, "After knowing Ms. Jones for three days, you had two or three conflicts with me because of her. If inviting Vikram to my house for dinner on the first day we met and then seeing him off makes me indiscreet, what does that make Mr. Foster?"

Adeline's words made Jasper's eyes instantly darken.

He coldly stared at Adeline's face, his voice icy. "I'm not like you."

Adeline said, "Indeed, we're different. I hosted Vikram as a lifesaver, while Mr. Foster hid Ms. Jones away purely for selfish reasons."

Jasper let out a cold laugh. "A lifesaver? Because of that incident at the fresh market?"

"Of course." Adeline squinted her eyes, her voice cold and mocking, "I almost forgot that Mr. Foster was there too. Diana and Anthony publicly insulted me, cursed Blake and Lauren, and even hit me. And as the biological father of my children, Mr. Foster not only watched coldly but also comforted Ms. Jones in his arms. Were you afraid Ms. Jones would be scared by the sight of me being beaten?”

Adeline coldly curled her lips into a smile. "Compared to Mr. Foster's cold-heartedness, Vikram seems much more humane. At least he didn't stand by and watch Diana and Anthony beat me to death."

Adeline coldly stared at Jasper in the driver's seat. "Inviting my lifesaver overfor dinner makes me indiscreet in Mr. Foster's eyes? Should I invite Mr. Foster, who stood by holding the feigning-sick Luna?"

Adeline's words made Jasper's face instantly darken.

The aura in the car grew oppressive, and Jasper squinted his eyes, his voice filled with cold anger.

"Luna wasn't faking her illness."
