Chapter 266 Miss Wilson will not let her off

"Who else then?" Adeline was fed up with Stella's lame excuses.

Stella snorted. "If it was not you, did the video just magically appear?"

Stella narrowed her eyes and glanced at a trembling Scarlett, who barely dared to breathe.

Their eyes met, and a sly smile flickered across Stella's lips.

In the next moment, Stella pointed her long finger at Scarlett. "She gave me that video."

"I didn't!" Scarlett, who had been crouched like a scared quail, jumped up. "It wasn't me! I didn't do it!"

Jasper furrowed his brow and turned to Adeline. "Do you remember the seating chart from yesterday's meeting?"

Adeline nodded. She might not be great at many things, but her memory was sharp. She could not recall details from six years ago, let alone a meeting from yesterday.

Seated at the head of the table, Jasper nodded. "Where was Stella sitting yesterday, and where was Scarlett?"

Adeline stood up and pointed out the positions.

As Adeline spoke, Scarlett's forehead was already beaded with cold sweat.

In the end, Scarlett comprehended why Stella, who typically sat beside her, had opted to sit opposite her during yesterday's meeting.

Yesterday, Stella's excuse had been to avoid suspicion and to prevent Adeline from discovering their collusion.

But now, when Jasper asked Adeline to point out their positions from yesterday, Scarlett finally realized that Stella never truly considered her a friend!

Stella had separated their seats only to make sure she was at a different angle from the video!

"Ryan." Jasper glanced at Scarlett's pale face and said calmly, "Find someone to sit in the positions Adeline just pointed out and make them film a video."

Ryan called Tim and Tom to sit in the positions Scarlett and Stella had occupied yesterday. Following Ryan's instructions, they filmed Adeline.

The result was that only the angle from Tim's position matched exactly with the one online from yesterday. And Tim's position was where Scarlett had sat yesterday.

The truth was revealed.

Stella pursed her lips and looked up at Jasper with a pitiful expression. "Jasper, I didn't lie, did I?"

"The video is really not mine. I truly wouldn't do anything to harm the Foster Group."

"It was all Scarlett. She gave me this video and asked me to upload it online."

"She said that in the past, Adeline had offended her, and since I also had conflicts with Adeline, she hoped that by using this incident, Adeline would have to carry the label of plagiarism and could no longer be arrogant in the future."

Jasper squinted at her tear-streaked face. "So you just followed her orders?"

Stella shook her head desperately. "I didn't!"

Stella sniffled. "But Scarlett sent me an email. In the email was a software she said would help me download movies, and I, not knowing any better, installed it."

"Yesterday, when I asked Anne to sit in front of my computer, it was also Scarlett's idea. She said to take advantage of Adeline's absence at the company and bully her assistant."

"I thought bullying an assistant wouldn't hurt, so..."

After speaking, Stella glanced apologetically at Anne. "I'm sorry. I was only trying to boss you around; I didn't expect anything else."

Stella had completely cleared herself in this matter. The only mistake she had made was following Scarlett's advice and bullying Anne.

"You hypocrite!" It was at this moment that Scarlett finally grasped that this supposed friend viewed her merely as a tool to be exploited at whim!

Even though it was Stella who had instigated her to record the video, who had asked a friend who could program to create software for automatic video uploads, in Stella's mouth, everything had become Scarlett's doing, and Stella took no responsibility at all!

Upon thinking about this, Scarlett's anger surged. "Stella! It was you..."

Stella narrowed her eyes. She strode over to Scarlett and slapped her so hard that Scarlett collapsed onto the table.

As Scarlett fell, she knocked over a water glass, spilling water everywhere and staining her pants, making her look particularly disheveled.

Stella glared at her, eyes filled with deep-seated resentment. "How dare you?"

"I treated you as a friend, but you repeatedly did things to harm the Foster Group!"

"Frame Anne, upload videos—I could take the blame for all those charges for you."

"But framing someone by recording a video—do you expect me to take the blame for that, too?"

"Do you have any conscience at all?"

Stella's words left Scarlett clenching her fists tightly.

Scarlett bit her lip and looked up at Jasper. "Mr. Foster, that's not how it is!"

"I was placed here by Mrs. Lily Forster!"

"I wouldn't do anything to harm the Foster Group!"

Jasper smiled faintly. "Then what about this video?"

Scarlett gritted her teeth. "Although I filmed this video, it was Stella who told me to do it!"

"If you say so." Stella was unyielding. "Words alone are not proof! Scarlett, do you have proof?"

Scarlett froze; she truly had no evidence.

During this time, Stella had actively engaged with her, and she had thought that with Stella as a friend, she could climb the social ladder of Radiance Springs.

While marrying Jasper was no longer on the table, becoming Stella's friend and gaining access to the elite circles of Radiance Springs was still a possibility for Scarlett.

So, she had seen Stella as a shining light in the darkness. She hadn't thought to leave evidence at every turn.

"If you have nothing..." Stella sneered and pulled out a recording pen from her pocket. "I do."

With that, Stella pressed play.

In the silence of the meeting room, Scarlett's voice echoed through the room:

"Stella, this video could completely bring down Adeline! Hurry and upload it online!"

"Is it not too soon to upload it now? Forget it." It was Stella.

And Scarlett's voice again. "Come on. It is the best opportunity to bring down Adeline!"

"Just thinking about her not being able to work as a jewelry designer in the future because of plagiarism makes me happy!"

"Let's see how arrogant she'll be in the future!"

As the recording finished playing, Scarlett collapsed to the ground, her legs giving out beneath her.

The words in the recording were indeed hers from yesterday. When she was talking to Stella, she was puzzled by Stella's cautious behavior.

She had never expected that Stella had already had a plan B for herself.

Watching Scarlett's reaction, Adeline closed her eyes with a sense of helplessness.

While others might not understand Scarlett, she did.

Scarlett couldn't deceive Stella at all.

A person who, as Jasper's secretary, fantasized about becoming Jasper's wife couldn't possibly manipulate Stella.

If Scarlett truly schemed against Stella, then Scarlett should now hold the recording, not Stella.

But even though Adeline knew Scarlett was just a scapegoat, she had no other evidence to prove that Stella was the mastermind behind it all.

"Lucia!" With no other options, Scarlett crawled off the table, scrambling over to Lucia, grabbing at Lucia's pants. "Please, help me! I'm not that kind of person!"

Lucia frowned, reluctant but still considering a bit of sisterhood.

She looked up at Adeline. "Adeline, would you be willing to show leniency towards her?"

As Lucia spoke, Stella chuckled. "Miss Wilson won't let her off lightly."

"Have you all forgotten that just now, Miss Wilson threatened to resign, insisting on severe punishment for the instigator?"

After speaking, Stella glanced at Adeline. "Miss Wilson, isn't that right?"
