Chapter 395 The Most Radiant Woman in All of Radiance Springs
After listening to Mia, Lucia was a bit puzzled. She asked, "Mia, since there's no groom, isn't it unnecessary to hold this engagement ceremony?
"Although canceling it might waste some money, holding it might also make you a laughingstock, right?"
Lucia's words made the the office instantly quiet.
Mia shifted her gaze and explained with a smile, "I understand what you mean."
"But..." Mia sighed. "I'm not in a good condition right now, and I really want to go through with it. A bit of excitement would be nice."
She raised her head as she remarked with a hint of sadness, "As for whether people will laugh at me or not, aren't I already a laughingstock?"
Mia's words brought silence back to the office.
Adeline sighed deeply. Mia's engagement to Thomas had been so high-profile that time. Now that this incident had occurred, the media was relentlessly covering it.
Everyone in Radiance Springs knew about Mia and Thomas.
Mia was right. Even if the engagement ceremony wasn't held, she would still be the laughingstock of the entire city.
Instead of hiding from people's eyes, Mia might as well openly admit it and go through with everything that had been planned. It would also serve as a farewell ceremony to symbolically let go of her past.
Thinking of this, Adeline looked up at Mia and asked, "When is the ceremony?"
"Tonight," Mia replied, glancing at the time. "There are four hours left. I'll take you to get styled and change clothes. It will be just right."
Adeline nodded in agreement, put down her pen, and stood up, glancing at Lucia and Robert. She dismissed them, "Then our work for today is done."
After Adeline finished speaking, Lucia grinned at Mia. "Can I attend tonight as well?" she cheekily asked.
Mia answered with a smile as she handed invitations to both Mia and Robert. "Of course you can. My engagement ceremony may not have many people, but it's still quite luxurious."
With that, she walked over and took Adeline's hand. "Let's go."
Adeline nodded in understanding, following Mia out while texting Alice on her phone to take care of Blake and Lauren.
Emerald Crest Estate.
Jasper spent the entire afternoon, managing to help Luna select the employees she liked and found efficient.
Jasper said, "Ms. Bishop said Blake's side still needs wrapping up and won't be here until tomorrow."
"Thank you, Jasper," Luna said as she sat on the sofa, her small face filled with guilt. "I've made Ms. Wilson misunderstand you again.
"I asked Ms. Bishop to take care of me because I think, at this stage, taking care of me might be more important than taking care of Blake.
"After all, my bone marrow is to be transplanted to Blake in the future, and there can't be any mistakes."
Jasper frowned slightly and patted her shoulder, trying to comfort her, "I understand."
In his heart, Blake's health was the most important.Whether Ms. Bishop took care of Blake or Luna made no difference to him.
Moreover, the doctor he arranged to replace Freya in taking care of Blake was actually Freya's mentor, an even more authoritative expert in blood diseases.
At this moment, Jasper's phone rang. It was Jason calling.
Jason said, "Tonight, you might have to go with me to Crystal Heights Resort. Mia wants to hold her engagement ceremony as scheduled and announce something at the ceremony."
Listening to Jason on the other end of the phone, Jasper's brows furrowed deeply. "Nonsense!" he remarked angrily.
Jason said, "I also think so. Mia might affect you and Adeline."
On the other end, Jason's voice carried a hint of fatigue."I didn't know about it initially; my father just called to tell me."
Jason continued, "Our family is somewhat distantly related to the White family, and Mia's business is somewhat connected to our Smith family. What do you think we should do about this?"
Jasper was silent for a moment before finally saying in a deep voice, "I'll go over tonight." With that, he hung up the phone.
Luna's delicate body leaned in, she asked sweetly, "Jasper, what's wrong?"
"Nothing." Jasper sighed, gently rubbing Luna's head. "I have some things to take care of tonight. Will you eat at home?"
Luna bit her lip, her dark eyes blinking as she looked at Jasper's face. "What's so urgent? I just heard something about attending a ceremony. Can you take me with you?" she insisted, trying to push her luck.
Luna's eyes were filled with an innocence. "I just arrived in Radiance Springs and don't know anyone. I also want to make some friends and have some fun."
"Otherwise," Luna lowered her head, her voice tinged with sadness. "It would be just like being stuck in the hospital again, cold and lonely."
Jasper sighed. "Luna, I agreed to let you work at the company. But there are too many people at such ceremonies, it could easily affect your mood and health. So, be good and stay home, okay?"
Jasper's words made Luna swell up with tears. "So you still don't want to take me, right?" she claimed, trying to invoke guilt from him.
She hadn't clearly heard what Jason said on the phone, but she did hear him mention Adeline.
Tonight's event would affect Jasper and Adeline? Then she had to go!
Seeing the tears on Luna's face, Jasper helplessly rubbed his temples. He wasn't good at comforting girls.
When he was with Adeline, she was always so understanding, never needing him to comfort or take care of her emotions.
He used to think that was how a relationship between a man and a woman should be.
But after being with Luna, he just felt exhausted.
"Jasper, please take me, okay?" Luna pleaded as she held his arm, gently shaking it. "I promise I'll control my emotions and won't cause any trouble! Just this once, if anything happens, I won't ask for such requests again, okay?"
Faced with Luna's persistence, Jasper sighed helplessly and had to agree. But tonight's event wasn't really suitable for bringing Luna along.
After Mia and Adeline left the company, they spent two hours getting their hair done and changing into gowns.
After two hours of waiting, what appeared before Mia and Lucia was an Adeline, who was so beautiful that it left them mesmerized. Her long hair was down, and she wore a sapphire blue satin gown..
Lucia couldn't help but marvel, "Luna, in no way could she compare to Adeline's figure and looks."
Mia looked at Adeline with satisfaction, and remarked, "You look even more beautiful than I imagined when you dress up."
From the beginning, she knew Adeline was a rare beauty, but Adeline was always busy with work, rarely wearing makeup or such beautiful gowns. Her pure and noble aura had always been hidden.
Mia walked over and gently held Adeline's hand. "Adeline, I want you to be the most dazzling woman in all of Radiance Springs tonight!" she encouraged.
