Chapter 577 I Know Everything

As Adeline stepped out of the airport, she switched on her phone.

A flood of messages hit her screen, all from guests at tonight's birthday bash. Some were saying sorry, some were griping about her leaving, and most were just missed calls.

She tried calling Jasper. No luck, his phone was off. Then she called Ryan, same deal..

Just then, Linda's call came through.

David and Jasper were pretty tight. If she couldn't get Jasper, maybe David could help.

The moment she picked up, Linda started laying into her. "Don't you think you went too far? David said Jasper went all out to throw you this birthday party!"

Linda kept going. "He got seriously hurt. Even if you weren't touched, you shouldn't have embarrassed him in front of everyone."

Sitting in the taxi, Adeline clutched her phone, her voice shaking. "He was hurt?"

Linda sighed on the other end. "Yeah, he got stabbed a bunch of times in the stomach. David said he went to Maple Avenue, got ambushed by Luna's guys."

Adeline's head was spinning as she listened.

She remembered rushing there that day, seeing Jasper sitting there, holding his stomach, looking at her calmly.

He was already hurt then. No wonder the alley smelled so metallic that night. It was the blood.

She bit her lip hard, her knuckles white as she gripped her phone.

She was so mad that day. Now, Linda said he got ambushed and stabbed.

Her heart felt like it had been hit with a sledgehammer. So that day, the anonymous message probably wasn't from Jasper but from those who ambushed her.

Jasper likely rushed there to protect her, only to get ambushed and hurt.

"Anyway, Jasper was in a coma in the hospital for a long time before he woke up."

Linda added. "Jasper didn't want anyone to know. If you hadn't slapped him tonight, making him hit the table and reopen his wound, I wouldn't have found out."

She hadn't hit him that hard. But Jasper, a big, strong guy, had stumbled back, hitting his stomach on the edge of a cart.

She was too angry to notice then. Now, thinking back, guilt and shame wrapped around Adeline like a net.

She bit her lip, her voice shaky. "Are you still at the beach?"

She wanted to apologize to Jasper in front of everyone, for real.

From the very beginning, Jasper had always kept her and the kids in his heart. But she had hurt him over and over.

Linda sighed. "We've already left. Jasper went all out for you tonight. Besides the fireworks that would go on till midnight, he had a gift for you."

Linda continued, "He bought back the first piece you designed abroad, thinking it was your starting point and wanted to give it back to you as a keepsake."

Adeline closed her eyes, tears finally falling silently. She knew how tough it was to buy back her first piece as Moon.

Back then, she was broke and sold her first piece for cheap.

When she got famous and rich, she tried to buy it back, but the buyer wouldn't sell. The price kept going up, becoming ridiculous.

Then money wasn't enough. The buyer, who clearly wasn't short on cash, made all sorts of crazy demands. Only those who passed his tests could buy the jewelry.

Adeline had tried several times but couldn't pass. Jasper had secretly passed all the tests and brought back the jewelry she wanted most.

And she had embarrassed him in front of everyone, throwing that hard-earned gift to the ground.

Adeline now just wanted to slap herself hard. After a while, she sniffled. "Is Jasper still on the beach?"

Hearing the sob in Adeline's voice, Linda softened. "He should be. Jasper said he wanted to watch the fireworks on the beach before leaving. If you go now, he should still be there."

Adeline took a deep breath and nodded hard. She hung up and looked at the dazzling fireworks still lighting up the sky. She said to the driver, "Can we go faster?"

Ten minutes later, the taxi pulled up at the beach.

As Adeline got out of the car, she bumped into a little guy walking towards her.

She steadied herself and saw it was Bennett. "It's you."

He turned his baseball cap around. "It's me. Happy birthday."

Leaving those words, he walked away quickly.

Adeline sighed as she watched him leave, then ran towards the beach. Bennett was important, but right now, she needed to find Jasper more!

A man in a black suit was leaning on a chair, watching the fireworks with his back to her.

"Jasper!"

Adeline bit her lip and ran over. "Jasper, I know everything!"

She ran to him, tears streaming down her face.

But then she saw his abdomen, wrapped in heavy bandages, with a fruit knife sticking out. Blood was continuously oozing from the wound, and the bandages were completely soaked in red.
