Chapter 658 Slept with His Woman
Noticng Rex's vacant stare, Molly felt a pang of worry but kept her expression neutral. "Yes, I'm pregnant with Jasper's child."
Rex's expression changed instantly. "You..."
Before he could finish, Brenda, standing behind him, slapped him. "What are you doing? Isn't it just that Jasper got Molly pregnant? What's the big deal? Why throw the fruit basket on the ground?"
As she spoke, she picked up the fruit basket from the floor, a sarcastic smile on her lips.
"This fruit basket was prepared for your grandmother. Although it's a bit damaged, for an old lady who doesn't have many days left, it's enough."
She continued with a few more sarcastic remarks. "After all, we are outsiders to the Foster family and cannot inherit their wealth and property. She should be grateful for our generous act."
Brenda's words made Jasper's eyes narrow slightly. He sneered, looking down at her and Rex.
"Ms. Baker, you have had a hard time. May I ask how much you have saved, and where did it come from?"
Brenda glared at Jasper. She and Rex were both short, and standing in front of him, they had no presence at all.
So she mustered up her courage and raised her head.
"Not much, we can't compare to you. It's just from the money Nathan brought back, saved by being frugal."
Jasper responded indifferently, "If I remember correctly, the money Nathan brought back was all extorted from Grandma. So the money Ms. Baker has saved is still the Foster family's money. Then why be so sarcastic here?"
Jasper's deep eyes looked down at Brenda's face. "Instead of talking nonsense here, Ms. Baker, you should really earn some money on her own and buy Grandma a fruit basket. She would surely be happy."
His words made Brenda's face turn darkened.
She bit her lip and glared coldly at Jasper. "You're right; I spent the money Lily gave Nathan. Although it's the Foster family's money, it has nothing to do with you. How dare you to lecture me?"
"This money certainly has something to do with me. Since Grandma handed over the Foster Group to me years ago due to her poor health, every penny of the Foster family has been related to me." Jasper smirked, his eyes coldly sweeping over her face.
He suddenly seemed to remember something and looked at Brenda.
"By the way, when I took over the Foster Group, I even converted the antiques my mother had saved into money and used it in the Foster Group. So every penny you spend now has traces of my mother."
He raised an eyebrow and looked at Brenda. "I've never met my mother, but I've heard she was very beautiful. Ms. Baker, did you ever meet my mother when you were with my father?"
Jasper's words made Brenda's face turn even darkened.
She gritted her teeth and glared at Jasper. "I could never have met her!"
With that, she reached out and pulled Rex, heading towards Lily's hospital room.
Watching Brenda's trembling back, Jasper smirked.
Did they think that if they did things secretly, they would never be discovered?
Some things were more urgent than others, and he believed Megan had waited nearly thirty years and wouldn't mind waiting a bit longer.
Once he dealt with Lily's matters, those who needed to pay the price wouldn't escape!
In the ICU.
Because the medication had taken effect and there was no further dosage, Adeline's condition was gradually improving.
But to avoid suspicion, Sharon went to Adeline's room to adjust her equipment, ensuring that anyone would think she was beyond medical help.
"You need to hold on for three more days."
Sharon adjusted the equipment and sighed. "Mr. Foster's look just now was terrifying. Good thing I left early, or I might have been beaten to death when you had your attack."
Adeline, pale, smiled weakly from her bed. "Was it really that scary?"
Sharon sighed. "It really was. I've known Jasper for many years, ever since Lily fell ill and he sought my help. This was the first time I saw him look at me like that. That's terrifying."
Sharon's words made Adeline laugh. "Is Mrs. Foster feeling better?"
Sharon's hand paused slightly as she adjusted the equipment. "She's much better. But for a full recovery, we'll need the antidote in three days."
Adeline nodded.
Actually, her current condition wasn't too bad.
It was just uncomfortable at the onset of the illness, but now that she was used to it.
Confined to the ICU all day, unable to move or use her phone, and limited to staring at the ceiling and listening to the machines, she found it exceedingly tedious.
And the smell of medicine in the room was quite unpleasant.
"Boredom is something I can't help with. After all, to others, you're a critically ill person. If someone saw you using your phone or making calls, the lie would be exposed. But I can open the door for some fresh air."
Sharon checked the time. "It's dinner time now, so there shouldn't be many people around. The duty nurse will close the door in half an hour."
With that, Sharon left, leaving a small gap in the door through which fresh air flowed in.
Adeline lay on the bed, eyes closed, breathing deeply, feeling comfortable.
After a while, she noticed a faint smell of cheap men's cologne in the air.
The scent made Adeline feel dizzy.
Suddenly, she opened her eyes. This cologne was Rex's!
Adeline instinctively looked towards the source of the smell.
Rex pushed open the ICU door, leering at Adeline lying on the bed. "Jasper slept with Molly. Today, I'm going to sleep with his woman!"
