Chapter 203 Jasper, I Want to Go Home
The restaurant fell silent in an instant.
Conor widened his eyes, unsure of what to say for a moment. He did say that if Adeline got drunk, no matter what she did, he would take responsibility.
But now... Adeline had just slapped Jasper's wife!
Who was Jasper? He was the king of Dawnvale! Even though he had restrained his temper in Dawnvale, it didn't mean he was easy to bully!
On the other side, Conor couldn't say a word, while on the other, Stella had already nestled into Jasper's arms, exclaiming, "Jasper, it hurts!"
Jasper furrowed his brows as he carefully removed Stella's hand from her face.
A swollen palm print was clearly visible on her delicate face.
A hint of anger flickered in Jasper's eyes. Although he was somewhat dissatisfied with Stella's constant urging for Adeline to drink, he reminded himself that Stella was his wife, after all!
While gently embracing Stella, Jasper coldly glanced at Ryan beside him and instructed, "Go get some medicine."
Ryan, who had been shocked silly, finally came to his senses and hurriedly left.
After Ryan left, Jasper raised his gaze and coldly glanced at Adeline. "I have indulged you, but there must be some restraint on your part too! Even if Stella is being excessive, she is still my wife! You need to show her some respect!"
Under the influence of alcohol, Adeline looked at Jasper through blurred eyes and retorted, "But, Mr. Foster, when Ms. Foster forced me to drink, you didn't intervene either."
She then coldly laughed. "I've said it before, when I'm drunk, I will do things I shouldn't do."
After speaking, she cast a disdainful glance at Conor, then shifted her glance to Jasper and Stella in his arms. "But none of you care about what I shouldn't do."
She paused, her tone tinged with bitterness. "So now that I'm really drunk and have done something I shouldn't have, are you all starting to blame me? Is it all according to your rules?"
After her words, she picked up a glass of wine on the table again and downed it fiercely. "Just let me drink, right?"
In Jasper's angry gaze, she drank one glass after another. Under the influence of alcohol, Adeline had lost her rationality.
Adeline coldly walked up to Jasper at last, looked at Stella in his arms with icy eyes, and instinctively raised her hand again—
She had long wanted to do this! Stella had impersonated her, abused her children, and repeatedly speculated with the worst intentions!
"Adeline!" Her raised hand was firmly held by the man's large hand.
Jasper stared coldly at Adeline and swung her hand aside. "Enough! Being drunk is not your shield! Even if you are drunk, I will make you pay when you are sober!"
"Pay?" Adeline repeated these two words with a cold smile.
After a while, she chuckled bitterly. Adeline pointed at Stella's face. "When she abused Lauren and Bennett, did she pay the price? When she made Lauren and Bennett suffer from stomach pain late at night, did she pay the price? After her friend kidnapped Bennett and Lauren, did she pay the price?
"A six-year-old child, tortured by her in various ways, she didn't pay the price. I just slapped her, and now I have to pay the price?
"Jasper, how indifferent can you be?"
Her words made Jasper and Stella's faces darken at the same time.
The man stared at Adeline's face, speechless.
Adeline smirked, picked up another glass of wine, downed it, and with the help of the alcohol, she added, "Six years ago, you hurt Adeline so much that you almost took her life! And now you're acting like you only love Stella, who are you trying to impress?"
Jasper was thoroughly provoked by her. "You're talking nonsense!"
Stella gritted her teeth, took advantage of Jasper's anger, and quickly slipped out of his embrace.
She couldn't let this woman continue speaking! She couldn't let this go on!
She was afraid that the next thing Adeline would say was to confess to Jasper that she was the real Adeline!
That would be a real disaster!
Thinking of this, Stella gritted her teeth, raised her hand directly, and slapped Adeline's face hard.
Her slap was both fierce and heavy.
The drunken Adeline was directly knocked back, her body swaying and crashing into the chair behind her, then knocking it over, falling to the ground with a loud "thud."
Pain.
Not just on her face, but all over her body. Her stomach had hit the edge of the chair along with her arm, causing tears to fall from her eyes.
She imagined her face must be swollen, tasting a rusty sweetness that filled her mouth.
"Ms. Wilson..." Conor was completely dumbfounded by the scene before him, unable to speak for a moment.
Struggling to get up from the ground, Adeline hadn't said a word yet when Stella raised her hand again—
"Stella," Jasper intervened, furrowing his brows and using his uninjured left hand to hold her wrist. "She slapped you, and you slapped her back; that's enough."
Moreover, everyone could see that Stella's slap was even more severe. She was aiming to harm Adeline!
Stella bit her lip, looking at Jasper with a hint of grievance. "But Jasper, if you don't stop her, she's going to slap me again."
She wiped away a tear and continued, "Is she your wife or am I your wife? Why are you protecting her?"
Her words made Jasper grip her hand slightly.
Taking advantage of his momentary distraction, Stella quickly pulled her hand back and raised it again toward Adeline's face—
Suddenly, with a loud bang, the door was pushed open.
Sebastian, his demeanor enveloped in an icy aura, rushed in and immediately pulled the bloodied Adeline into his arms.
Stella's slap missed.
"You're so clumsy, can't you dodge?" Sebastian held Adeline protectively in his arms, complained softly, then looked up. "Jasper, is this how you and your wife treat outstanding employees?"
It was only then did Jasper furrowed his brows, raising his hand to pull Stella behind him, his gaze cold and proud. "This is between us, it's none of your business."
Sebastian chuckled. "How is it none of my business? I've said it, Adeline is my girlfriend!"
The man stared at Jasper firmly and continued, "You took her out on a business trip, forced her to drink with this Conor, and now you're bullying her while she's drunk.
"I've never seen such a behaviour coming from a CEO and his wife!"
After speaking, he sneered, "So this is the corporate culture of the Foster Group, now I see!"
"Let's go home..." Drunk Adeline leaned on him, tears in her eyes, her voice intoxicated. "Jasper, I want to go home..."
