Chapter 854 Clarifying for Adeline
Howard's words hit like a sledgehammer.
The room went dead silent.
You could hear a pin drop.
It wasn't just Daisy and Brandon on stage who were stunned; even Jasper and Adeline in the audience looked like they'd seen a ghost.
Only Oliver stayed cool, casually sipping his coffee on the sofa, not a hint of surprise on his face.
Adeline bit her lip and leaned in, whispering:
"Oliver, what the heck is going on?"
Oliver chuckled softly, setting down his coffee cup, his eyes steady. "Just sit back and enjoy the show."
Adeline bit her lip again.
It was clear Oliver had known all along what Howard was going to say tonight. That's why he insisted she come to the event and even helped her dress up for it.
But Adeline hadn't seen this coming.
Howard, who had always doted on Daisy, was now publicly announcing that Daisy was being kicked out of the Phoebe family.
She looked up at Howard on stage again.
Howard happened to be looking at her too.
Their eyes met, and for a brief moment, a hint of affection flashed in Howard's usually stern eyes.
Adeline quickly looked away.
On stage, Daisy was in shock.
She bit her lip and hurriedly took small steps to Howard's side, tugging at his sleeve and whispering:
"Dad, you must be too nervous and said the wrong name, right?"
"Isn't Adeline the one being kicked out of the Phoebe family?"
"Why is it me?"
Howard narrowed his eyes, giving Daisy a cold glance, his lips curling with a hint of frost.
After a moment, he shook off Daisy's hand from his sleeve, his voice icy:
"I didn't say the wrong name, nor did I make a mistake. The one being expelled from the Phoebe family today is Daisy, standing right here beside me!"
He looked calmly at the audience:
"Some of you might not understand why I'm choosing this moment to expel Daisy from the Phoebe family."
"I waited until today, after her wedding, when she has her own home, to announce her departure. I've done my utmost."
"As for the reasons I'm expelling her."
Howard pointed to the large screen.
The screen began displaying photos of Daisy with various men:
"First, she has no sense of propriety, tarnishing the Phoebe family's reputation, and telling every man she meets that he could become a new member of the Phoebe family. I can't bear this disgrace!"
At these words, Brandon's face in the corner of the stage turned dark.
Howard was just Daisy's adoptive father.
But he was Daisy's husband now!
Earlier, when faced with these photos, he had kept silent because he needed the Phoebe family's support, enduring Daisy's past.
But now, Howard was saying the Phoebe family couldn't bear this disgrace?
Wasn't that a slap in his face?
Howard's words not only stripped him of his dignity but also the entire Phoebe family.
The Phoebe family couldn't tolerate Daisy, but the Torres family could?
He bit his lip, his hands clenched into fists at his sides, unable to say a word in his defense.

Seeing Brandon's furious but silent expression on stage, Jasper couldn't help but laugh.
He had underestimated Howard and Oliver.
Jasper thought they were fools who'd stay that way.
But he hadn't seen this coming.
Tonight, both Brandon and Daisy would face a fall from grace, and neither could escape.
At that moment, the screen on stage changed.
From the previous bed photos, it now showed the losses the Phoebe Group had incurred over the past six months.
Each point on the graph was marked with the decisions Daisy had made at the time and their impacts.
It clearly and simply demonstrated Daisy's incompetence.
Howard on stage curled his lips slightly and continued:
"Second, she has no business acumen, is incompetent, yet insisted on holding a key position in the Phoebe Group. The results are evident to everyone."
"Third."
He narrowed his eyes and pressed the remote again.
The screen now showed Zara's ulcerated skin and the parts that had been surgically removed.
It was shocking.
Howard turned to look deeply at Brandon:
"This incident involves people unrelated to the Phoebe family, so I won't go into detail."
"But the main point is, my wife's injuries were caused by Daisy colluding with outsiders."
"As for why she did it."
He narrowed his eyes, glancing at Daisy, who was sitting on the stage in a white wedding dress, looking dim and lifeless:
"It's because my wife has been in a vegetative state for a long time, and my biological daughter Adeline has been taking care of her."
"Daisy did this to sow discord, making the Phoebe family think Adeline wasn't taking good care of my wife."

Howard pressed the remote again. "As for how those photos came about, let's hear from Mr. Wheeler."
With his press of the remote, Oscar's image appeared on the screen.
The handsome man smiled and bowed to the camera:
"Hello, everyone. I'm Oscar from Everglade City."
"I recorded this video to clear Adeline's name."
"A few days ago, I received a call from Daisy, asking me to go to Oceancrest City for a blind date with Adeline."
"When I got there, I was kidnapped."
"But the kidnappers' main target wasn't me; they wanted to use my kidnapping as a pretext to kidnap Adeline."
"They drugged Adeline, intending to assault her and then kill her."
"Fortunately, I had previously been friends with Mr. Foster, and I called him for help, saving Adeline."
"But by then, Adeline had already been drugged. Given her past relationship with Mr. Foster, she was taken back to his home in a daze."
"As everyone knows, Jasper is a wealthy man with a resident family doctor. I'm sure nothing happened that night."
"As for the later photos, I believe Ms. Wilson was visiting Mr. Foster to thank him."
He smiled at the camera:

The video caused another uproar in the audience.
Jasper narrowed his eyes, looking at Howard on stage, sensing something was off.
If Howard's goal tonight was just to expel Daisy from the Phoebe family.
Then why bring in Oscar to clarify his and Adeline's relationship?
Suddenly, his pupils contracted.
Could it be that Howard had another plan in mind?
