Chapter 236 How Dare You Come to Our House?

Jasper raised an eyebrow.

He didn't expect Bennett to ask him this question as soon as they met, especially after not seeing each other for so long.

Jasper squinted at him. "It seems you don't want me to reconcile with your mom?"

Bennett paused.

He turned his head and looked thoughtfully at Jasper, raising two fingers.

"Firstly, I have never accepted Mrs. Stella. In my eyes, she has never been my mommy. My mommy is Adeline."

"Secondly, does my opinion matter to Mr. Foster about what I want or don't want?"

"If Mr. Foster had considered our thoughts, you wouldn't have made us do things we don't want to do, like taking me and my sister back to Blue Bay."

Bennett added, "Lastly, I don't care about what's happening between you and Stella. I want to know what made Mr. Foster take a trip to Victoria Hollow City and completely change your attitude towards Stella."

Jasper and Stella had been separated before he left. He had also announced that he would be getting a divorce soon.

But not long after they arrived at Victoria Hollow City, they reconciled as if nothing had happened.

It seemed like they were even closer than before.

Jasper narrowed his eyes slightly.

What prompted his change of attitude towards Stella?

It may have been that night at the party.

That night, he got drunk and had an intimate encounter with Stella for the first time since their reunion.

Jasper recaptured the feeling he had when he was with Adeline.

His memories of that night were blurry.

But Adeline's repeated calls of "honey" made him suddenly reluctant to let her go.

Even as Stella had transformed into her current visage.

However, Stella was still the woman who had once given him everything and had been the object of his dreams for six years.

When he woke up that morning and saw Stella lying beside him, Jasper suddenly didn't want a divorce anymore.

It was all his fault.

If Stella hadn't been with him in the first place, she wouldn't have gone through all this and wouldn't have become the way she is now.

It was he who had made Stella lose her kindness and loveliness.

If Jasper dumped her again, Stella would have nothing left.

So, he chose to endure everything Stella did and decided to stay with her.

Jasper believed that Stella's true nature was still kind.

As long as Jasper tried, Stella would become the same Adeline she used to be.

But these were things he couldn't explain to Bennett.

So, Jasper took a deep breath and chuckled. "It must be love that made me change my mind about not divorcing her."

Although children might not understand love, they believe the love between mom and dad should hold everything together.

Bennett sneered as soon as these words were spoken, "Wow, Mr. Foster’s love comes and goes."

Jasper felt a bit displeased. "Bennett, I have loved your mom for many years."

How could it just come and go as it please?

The little guy rolled his eyes and leaned back in the leather seat, finding a comfortable position. "I don't feel like arguing with you."

Bennett opened the car door and waved to Lauren, who was still hesitating outside. "Come on in!"

Lauren hurriedly ran over after Bennett's gesture.

After Lauren got into the car, Bennett locked the door. "This car is just right for the three of us."

After that, he closed his eyes and leaned back in the seat. "I'm going to sleep. Wake me up when we reach our destination."

Lauren nodded seriously. "Okay, Bennett. Sleep well!"

She then looked out the car window, not intending to greet Jasper.

Jasper frowned.

Lauren used to be very close to him.

But now ...

Jasper cleared his throat. "Lauren."

Lauren didn't turn her head. "What's the matter, Mr. Foster?"

Jasper looked at Laura's stubborn back. "It seems like you have some opinions about Daddy?"

"How dare I have any opinions about Daddy?"

Lauren's voice was sweet and cold. "Mr. Foster doesn't even allow Mommy to be alone with us."

"With such a domineering Mr. Foster, Lauren doesn't dare to talk to you casually."

Jasper remained silent.

Stella took the initiative to bring the children home and bond with them this time.

Jasper had hoped to use this opportunity to improve Stella's relationship with the children.

After a while of not seeing them, he truly missed them.

So, Jasper proposed a plan for everyone to gather in Blue Bay.

But it seemed like ...

Had he offended Adeline and the two children?

The car started moving.

Soon, several cars stopped at the entrance of Blue Bay.

As Adeline alighted from the van where Tim and Tom were fetching luggage, Stella had already disembarked.

Standing by Jasper's car, Stella plastered a fake smile.

"Lauren, come here. Let Mommy carry you in!"

Lauren rolled her eyes, bypassed her, and walked towards the entrance with short steps.

Bennett, on the other hand, happily threw himself into Stella's arms. "If you can't carry Lauren, then just hug me."

"I'm not that heavy. I'm just a bit heavier than Lauren."

Stella reluctantly picked up Bennett, struggling to take a step.

Bennett wrapped his arm around Stella's neck. "Come on, Mrs. Collins. I'm your precious baby. If I fall and break, it won't be good!"

Stella's face grew even more sour.

Adeline couldn't help but laugh at the sight.

Bennett was light. When Adeline was abroad, she could carry both Bennett and Lauren simultaneously.

Though light, Bennett was a handful for someone unfamiliar with carrying children.

There were some things that only mothers could do with ease.

Jasper couldn't bear to watch Stella clumsily carrying the child. "Let me do it."

Jasper stepped forward and took Bennett into his arms.

Stella naturally linked her arm with his and turned her head to give Adeline a haughty look. "Mrs. Wilson, come in."

After that, Stella and Jasper walked towards the entrance together.

The scene of two adults and a child looked surprisingly harmonious.

Adeline's heart felt a little sour.

"Mommy."

A small hand gently grasped hers.

It was Lauren, who had just run to the door.

Lauren hurried out and held Adeline's hand, fearing she was uncomfortable. "Bennett is just trying to punish Mrs. Collins."

"But who would have thought that Daddy would protect her so much."

Lauren pursed her lips and took Adeline's hand. "Let's go inside, too."

Adeline finally regained her composure and hooked her lips into a faint smile. She lifted her leg and led Lauren inside.

"Bennett, Lauren!"

As soon as everyone entered, Lily and Nathan greeted them excitedly in the living room.

"We heard that you were coming back today. We thought you wouldn't be back until tonight, but here you are!"

Lily excitedly grabbed one of the children's hands. "I missed you both so much!"

Bennett frowned. Although displeased, he still smiled. "Hello, Grandma Foster."

Seeing that even Bennett had greeted her, Lauren could only smile and say to Lily, "Grandma Foster looks even younger!"

The two children made Lily beam with joy.

Jasper took off his coat and sat on the sofa, watching Lily and the children have a great time in front of him. He felt a warm surge in his heart.

When they had just married, Adeline expressed her wish to have children. At the same time, Lily was still healthy and could experience the joy of four generations living together.

At that time, Jasper had marveled at Adeline's kindness.

After all, from the beginning, the Foster family didn't welcome or like her.

Yet, Adeline truly treated every Foster family member as her own.

Thinking about this, he glanced at Stella and beckoned her with a smile. "Come here."

Stella was pleasantly surprised and quickly walked over.

Jasper gently wrapped his arm around her shoulder, exhaling deeply. "Do you remember what you once said?"

Stella hesitated. "I ... remember."

After speaking, she quickly glanced at Adeline beside her and hoped Jasper wouldn't bring up the past again. "Mrs. Wilson, please have a seat."

Adeline watched the scene unfold before her, a sense of loss creeping into her heart.

Stella's words jolted her back to reality, and she instinctively looked in their direction.

But instead of what she expected, she saw Nathan walking towards her with an angry face. "How dare you come to our house!"
