Chapter 46 I'm at the Jerk's House
Adeline returned to Blue Bay with Lauren and Bennett.
On the way, she had already messaged Violet, informing her that Bennett was with her.
"Hmm, this jerk's house is quite beautiful."
This was Bennett's first time visiting Blue Bay.
He looked at the understated luxury decor inside the villa and exclaimed, "The four of us live in a ten-square-meter space overseas, and this guy lives alone in such a big place!"
Adeline frowned. "Bennett, mind your manners!"
Fortunately, all the servants had left at this time. Otherwise, Bennett's words would have caused a big problem if someone had heard them!
"I've observed it. There's nobody else in the house. It's just the three of us."
The little guy smiled mischievously and lifted his small hand to tug at Adeline's finger. "Mommy, I know what you're worried about. I have discretion!"
Lauren glared at him and sat on the sofa. "If you had discretion, you wouldn't have caused dad to be hospitalized. Mom had to lie because of you."
The more the little girl spoke, the angrier she became. "Bennett, I know you and Blake hate dad, but now is not the time to hold him accountable! Doesn't Blake still need dad's help with his illness?"
Lauren relentlessly addressed him as "dad", making Bennett feel somewhat uncomfortable.
He pursed his lips. "Are you so close with him?"
Lauren grew a little frantic. "We really need his help now!"
Seeing his little sister's face turning red from worry, Bennett reluctantly pursed his lips again. "Fine, I know I was wrong. It won't happen again."
He really just wanted to play a prank on him. How could he have known that jerk had such a weak stomach?
"Alright." Adeline took a deep breath and went upstairs to prepare the guest room. "You'll stay here tonight, and tomorrow morning I'll have one of the other servants take you back."
"Okay."
Bennett entered the guest room and sat on the bed. "Good night, mommy!"
Adeline couldn't help but worry a little as she admonished him. "Go to sleep. Don't wander around, understand?"
"I understand!" Bennett replied, his voice obedient.
Pouting discontentedly, he said, "Mommy, I'm your son. Can you not be so cautious around me, like you're guarding against a thief?"
Adeline gave him a stern look. "It's because you always come up with mischievous ideas."
Among the three children, Bennett was the most quick-witted and liveliest. He always did things that were hard to understand.
"Don't worry!" The little one obediently lay down on the bed and pulled the little blanket over himself. "I'll rest well. It's already late, and if I don't sleep, my biological clock will be messed up! Mommy, you can relax!"
Watching the little one lying on the bed with closed eyes, Adeline finally felt a bit relieved.
She turned off the bedside lamp in the guest room and left.
After closing the door, the little one lying on the bed instantly opened his bright eyes.
He crawled under the covers and dialed Blake's number on his phone.
At that moment, the afternoon sun was shining into the ward.
Blake, basking in the sun, was in a good mood when he received his brother's call. "It must be very late over there, right? Why are you calling at this time?"
"Blake." Bennett lowered his voice and said, "I'm in a place you'll never guess!"
"Where are you?" There was a moment of hesitation from Blake on the other end of the phone. "Are you at the jerk's house?"
Bennett was a bit frustrated. "How did you know?"
He hadn't revealed anything. He had just asked Blake to guess!
"Well, for one, you've only recently returned to the country, so there aren't many places you can go.
"Also, you asked me to guess where you are, which means it must be a place I can think of but find it hard to believe.
"Finally, this place is exciting and interesting for you, so you couldn't resist sharing it with me."
The young boy's voice was tender yet mature and calm. "In conclusion, the place you're currently at should be the jerk's house."
Bennett was irritated.
"It's not fun joking with someone like you."
"So don't play these boring jokes with me." Blake chuckled lightly. "Tell me, how did you end up at his house?"
Bennett pursed his lips and told Blake everything that had happened tonight.
"You're still too impulsive." Blake spoke earnestly. "Luckily, mom handled it well. If she hadn't, and if the jerk found out about your relationship with mom, then all your activities in the country would have been exposed to him. He's a suspicious person. Sooner or later, he would have figured it out."
"I know I made a mistake!" Bennett pursed his lips. He knew what Blake would say.
But what could he do? He couldn't just force the scumbag to vomit it out, right?
"Yeah."
Knowing his younger brother's character well, Blake also believed that Bennett hadn't done it on purpose.
He advised him briefly.
Afterwards, the conversation shifted. "What are you planning to do now?"
Bennett grinned mischievously. "I am sharing the IP address of the scumbag's home network with you. Can you hack into it and disable the surveillance and recording devices in his study?"
Blake frowned. "Do you want to go into his study?"
"Not only that, I also want to make copies of important documents." Bennett narrowed his eyes slightly. "I don't know much about this business, but you do, Blake. I'll send those confidential files to you. I believe you can quickly figure out which ones are important!"
"You mean..."
"A contingency plan." Bennett took a deep breath, and his gaze became serious. "Mommy and Lauren are too emotionally involved.
"We've been away for so long, and they've made no progress whatsoever. Mommy curses that scumbag every day, but I know deep down, she still cares."
The little guy sighed, "So, Blake, we need to be prepared for all the outcomes. If Mommy and Lauren fail, we can still use the company to blackmail that scumbag!"
Although Blake didn't think Bennett's suggestion was a good idea, he was indeed interested in what Jasper was up to.
The young boy said, "I'll give it a try."
After hanging up the phone, he received a string of symbols from Bennett.
With precision, Blake found the hidden IP address and began his attack.
Since Jasper himself was a hacker, Blue Bay's firewall was encrypted.
It took Blake over an hour to finally break through the firewall and pause all the surveillance and recording devices.
"You can go now."
"Copy that!"
After receiving his brother's response, a restless Bennett immediately jumped up and hurriedly entered the study. He turned on Jasper's computer and plugged in the hard drive to start copying the files.
There were too many files, so the copying process was slow.
Bored, Bennett clicked on a folder on the desktop labeled "A Lifetime of Regrets."
He thought he would find some of Jasper's secrets.
But when he saw the photos in that folder, Bennett froze.
The woman in those pictures...
She was what his mommy used to look like.
Jasper actually had so many photos of mommy saved on his computer.
His hand holding the mouse trembled slightly.
Did the scumbag really love mommy?
