Chapter 819 Miss Wilson, I Was Wrong
The courtyard fell silent.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on Brandon.
Feeling the weight of their stares, Brandon's scalp tingled with unease.
Before buying the ointment, he had only considered its effects, never imagining that he would be the only person in the world to purchase it in the past two months.
Even more unexpected was that Wenger Pharmaceuticals Group had kept records of the purchase!
"Wenger Pharmaceuticals Group doesn't want to get sued. For such a harmful ointment, they definitely keep purchase records."
Jasper, seemingly reading Brandon's thoughts, smiled coldly and elegantly turned to sit in Adeline's usual breakfast chair.
"Mr. Torres, instead of wondering why the pharmaceutical company keeps records, you should think about how to explain why you bought this ointment."
"And also..."
Jasper's eyes glinted with a hint of mockery.
"And also, since I was the one who applied the ointment to Mrs. Phoebe, how did your ointment end up in my hands?"
Brandon's face turned ashen.
Oliver narrowed his eyes at Brandon, letting out a cold snort.
"Brandon, explain yourself."
Adeline clenched her fists tightly, her gaze fixed on him, but she said nothing.
Brandon's eyes darkened, and he couldn't utter a word.
This ointment, which accelerates decay, was developed by Wenger Pharmaceutical Company for medical experiments on lab mice.
The Torres family neither runs a pharmaceutical company nor conducts medical experiments, so there was no legitimate reason for them to buy such an ointment.
Brandon bit his lip hard and glanced at Terry, who was watching the scene unfold.
His eyes flashed, and he quickly shifted the blame onto Terry.
"I bought this ointment for Terry."
Brandon pointed at Terry in the crowd.
"He's a doctor I greatly respect. He wanted to conduct medical experiments using this ointment, but it was too expensive, so I bought it for him."
After saying this, Brandon secretly breathed a sigh of relief, feeling proud of his quick thinking.
"Once I gave the ointment to Terry, it had nothing to do with me."
He then looked at Jasper with a cold gaze.
"As for how Mr. Foster got the ointment from Terry, I have no idea."
Brandon turned to Terry with a smile.
"Terry, isn't that right?"
Terry was stunned for a few seconds before quickly nodding.
"Yes, yes, that's right!"
"Mr. Torres is telling the truth!"
Their exchange made Adeline narrow her eyes slightly.
She could tell that Terry was being coerced.
Taking a deep breath, Adeline stepped forward and gently asked,
"Terry, when did Mr. Torres give you the ointment?"
"And when did you realize it was missing?"
These questions made Terry panic.
He looked at Brandon for help.
Brandon's eyes narrowed. "Adeline, why are you asking such detailed questions?"
"Obviously, she wants to clear Jasper's name," Daisy interjected, rolling her eyes. "I told you all Adeline only cares about Jasper, but you didn't believe me!"
Adeline's eyes darkened as she turned to Brandon and Daisy.
"I'm asking these questions to determine if Jasper is responsible for harming my mother."
"If he is, fine. But if he's not?"
Adeline's gaze turned icy. "If Jasper isn't the culprit, then the real perpetrator is still out there."
"Is it wrong for me to seek the truth for my mother?"
She glanced at Daisy. "You've been trying to link my search for the truth to my past relationship with Jasper. Are you trying to stop me from investigating?"
"What are you hiding? Are you afraid I'll find out something?"
Daisy was momentarily speechless.
She pursed her lips and glared at Adeline. "I'm just worried you and Jasper might rekindle your relationship."
"That won't happen."
Adeline smiled.
"From the moment I returned to the Phoebe family and became the daughter of Jasper's enemy, there was no chance of us getting back together."
She then turned to Terry, speaking slowly and deliberately.
"Terry, let me explain the situation again."
"We have the Torres family, the Phoebe family, and the largest company in Oceancrest City, the Foster family."
"If you're caught lying, you'll be offending all three families."
Terry hesitated, then glanced at Jasper.
Finally, he knelt on the ground.
"Mr. Torres, it's not that I don't want to help you, but I can't afford to cross Jasper!"
Kneeling, Terry tearfully recounted how Brandon had threatened him.
"Mr. Torres called me in the middle of the night, offering me $100,000 to help with the identification."
"In reality, Mr. Torres and Ms. Phoebe didn't pick me up. I went to the Torres Mansion on my own."
"When I arrived, the servants said Mr. Torres and Ms. Phoebe were busy and I had to wait."
"I waited for half an hour before they came out and brought me here."
Terry looked at Oliver with a pained expression.
"But when we got here, they blamed me for the delay. I felt so wronged."
Terry's words made Oliver's eyes narrow, his hands clenching tightly at his sides.
As expected.
Neither Brandon nor Daisy had any heart!
He had called Daisy, saying there was an emergency with Zara.
But Daisy and Brandon had been at home, taking their time before coming over.
Did Daisy care about Zara, who had raised her for over twenty years?
Did Brandon have any basic respect for the Phoebe family?
"Since Terry said that, the ointment wasn't bought for him."
Jasper spoke coldly, crossing his legs elegantly.
"Terry, you didn't falsify the time identification, did you?"
"No, no!"
Terry shook his head vigorously. "It's accurate!"
"Mr. Torres told me to use the real time for the identification. He said he had everything arranged!"
"Is that so? He had everything arranged?"
Jasper raised an eyebrow at Brandon.
"Mr. Torres, care to explain how you arranged everything?"
Brandon narrowed his eyes, remaining silent.
"You don't need to say anything. I already know."
Jasper smiled at Adeline.
"Where do your servants live?"
Adeline hesitated, then pointed to a row of staff quarters in the distance.
As soon as she pointed, David led a group towards the staff quarters.
Lucy, biting her lip, suddenly knelt on the ground.
"Miss Wilson, I was wrong."
