Chapter 560 Have Jasper and Adeline found you?
"Let's go to hell together!" Luna screamed, grabbing Jasper and leaping off the cliff.
As they plummeted, Jasper managed to break free and grab onto the rocks at the cliff's edge.
Adeline rushed up just in time to see him hanging on for dear life, his hand gripping the rock, veins popping out.
Jasper dangled there, held up only by his straining hand, which was slowly slipping.
Adeline ran over, grabbing his hand and arm. "Jasper!"
She held on tight, but Jasper's strength was fading fast. He could barely hold on anymore and had to rely on Adeline.
But Adeline wasn't strong enough, and Jasper's weight was pulling her over the edge too.
Jasper frowned, seeing her struggle, veins bulging on her forehead. He sighed. "Let go."
He knew Adeline couldn't pull him up. If she kept trying, they'd both go over.
"No," Adeline said, teeth gritted, looking at the abyss below. "I won't let go!"
She couldn't let Jasper die. She just couldn't.
Jasper looked at her and smiled. "Adeline, don't you hate me? Don't you think I'm a cold, heartless jerk? Why are you saving me? If I die, shouldn't you be happy?"
Adeline held on with all her might, even though she was exhausted. She didn't know where her strength was coming from, but she knew she couldn't let Jasper die. No matter what he said, she wouldn't let go.
She bit her lip, glaring at him. "Don't think saying that will make me let go! I hate you so much, Jasper, you can't die! You owe me and the kids, and you haven't paid it back. You have to live and atone for your sins!"
Jasper paused for a moment.
Then he closed his eyes and chuckled bitterly, gripping her hand tighter. "Okay. I'll live and atone."
Adeline nodded, trying with all her might to pull him up, but she couldn't. They had to wait for Ryan and the others to come to the rescue.
Blake had already run down the mountain to get help. Adeline knew he was on it.
All she had to do was hold on until Ryan and the others arrived.
"Adeline," Jasper said, looking up at her.
He could feel her strength fading.
If this kept up, they'd both fall. The cliff was hundreds of feet high. If they fell, they wouldn't survive. So, one of them dying was better than both.
Jasper took a deep breath. "If you don't want to let go, that's fine. But if you can't hold on anymore, promise me you'll let me go. The kids can live without me, but they can't live without you. Blake and Lauren have already lost Bennett; they can't lose you too."
Adeline bit her lip, looking into Jasper's indifferent eyes, her heart tightening.
She could see it. Jasper wanted to pull her hand away and fall himself.
"Don't move!" She frowned. "I have the strength; I can hold you!"
"And!" Adeline bit her lip, unable to hold back the secret she had discovered to make Jasper stop struggling. "Bennett isn't dead. Jasper, Bennett isn't dead, and neither is Sebastian!"
Jasper, who was trying to break free, paused slightly.
He looked up at her face in shock. "What did you say?"
"I said they're not dead!" Adeline bit her lip. "Jasper, you have to live and help me find Bennett!"
Adeline bit her lip again. "It was because of you that I lost Bennett. Now that Bennett isn't dead, if you don't help me find him and just want to die, are you even a man?"
Jasper fell silent.
After a while, he smiled. "So Bennett isn't dead."
Jasper looked up, his eyes fixed on Adeline's face. "If Bennett isn't dead, does that mean I don't owe you as much?"
Back then, because of Bennett's death, he felt he could never be forgiven by Adeline; he never had the face to stand by her side.
"Adeline!" Jasper called out.
"Mr. Foster!" Suddenly, shouts and footsteps came from a distance.
Ryan, with Tim and Tom, rushed up the mountain and immediately saw Adeline lying on the cliff's edge. Her slender body was wedged against the rocks, teetering on the brink, yet her hands clung steadfastly to Jasper, who was dangling precariously over the cliff.
The men were stunned by the scene before them.
No one could have imagined that a seemingly frail woman like Adeline could muster such strength!
Jasper, though well-built, was not light! But Adeline managed to wedge herself against the rock and hold onto his arm tightly. And her left hand, having recently lost a pinky finger, was still inflamed.
The men quickly rushed over and pulled Jasper up.
Seeing Jasper being pulled up by Ryan and the others, Adeline finally lay on the ground, relieved, and passed out.
After being pulled up, Jasper leaned against the rock, panting, and held the unconscious Adeline in his arms.
The feeling of regaining what was lost softened his heart completely. He held Adeline tightly, exhaling deeply.
Thankfully, he was alive, so were Adeline, Blake and Bennett.
As for Luna, since she had fallen from such a height, there might be no chance of recovering her body.
At that moment, a strange phone ringtone sounded from the nearby bushes.
Ryan frowned and quickly followed the sound.
It was Luna's phone. The call was from an unknown number.
Jasper frowned and answered.
A familiar voice came from the other end. "Have Jasper and Adeline found you?"
Jasper squinted his eyes tightly. "Molly!"
