Chapter 667 You Are All Useless

Hospital, in the ward.

Adeline bit her lip, her eyes full of pain as she looked at Lily, whose hair was already completely white, leaning against the headboard.

She spoke with a hoarse voice, "Grandma, why did you..."

Lily pretended to be relaxed, reaching out to rub Lauren's head and then squeezing Bennett's hand.

"I've already said it. Brenda is right; I don't have much time left. Being able to do more for Lauren is good."

Adeline's eyes turned red. "But Grandma, Jasper and I have worked so hard to treat your illness. You are the only elder Jasper respects, and besides me and the children, you are his only family"

Adeline sniffled, her voice choked, "Lauren is still young, she has such a long life ahead of her. I don't believe these toxins in her body are incurable. We will find another way. But your body can't handle the toxin."

Lily was already over seventy years old.

When Adeline sought out Sharon earlier, Sharon also said that Lily's organs were severely damaged, and if the toxins were not removed in time, her body would only deteriorate further.

The remaining days had to be counted by the day.

So she was desperate to feign illness to get Molly's antidote, even willing to have Sharon personally make a similar poison to avoid Molly discovering the ruse.

Lily closed her eyes and sighed, "I'm fine. I'm already so old; living a few more years doesn't mean much."

After speaking, she reached out to rub Lauren's little head, "As long as she's okay, I'm at ease."

"Great-grandma." Lauren's face was full of tears, her eyes swollen from crying. "I don't want you to pass away. You still haven't seen me win an international award, and you haven't seen me make the jewelry you love with my own hands."

"Not yet..." Lauren choked up, unable to say the many things she wanted to.

The scene before her made Adeline's heart ache. She turned to Jasper behind her.

Jasper's expression was blank, but the complex emotions in his eyes betrayed his inner feelings.

She knew that at this moment, he was more upset than she was.

Jasper was used to suppressing his emotions and couldn't express himself.

Instinctively, Adeline reached out and held Jasper's hand, which was cold, as if it had no warmth.

Lily sighed, kissed Lauren on the head, and then looked up.

"Adeline, take the children out; I have something to say to Jasper."

Adeline nodded, walked over, and picked up the sobbing Lauren.

Blake sensibly walked to Bennett's wheelchair and pushed him, following Adeline out.

The four of them left the ward.

Jasper quietly closed the door, turned around, sat by Lily's bed, and tightly held her hand. "Grandma."

His voice was so low and hoarse it was almost inaudible.

Lily reached out and held Jasper's hand with both of hers, "I don't have much time left."

These words made Jasper's eyes darken instantly.

He tightly held her hand, his voice low as if squeezed through his teeth. "When I was seventeen, I could save you. I can do it this time too."

Lily waved her hand and smiled, "Forget it, I was young then, my body could still hold on. Now it's not possible."

She smiled bitterly, her eyes fixed on Jasper's face. "I don't have many concerns, but my only concern is you. When you were born, your mother passed away. Your father never cared for you, I raised you myself. I know how stubborn, persistent, and lonely you are."

As she spoke, she glanced outside the ward.

Through the frosted glass door, she could vaguely see the scene outside.

Bennett sat in his wheelchair, Blake stood behind him.

Adeline was squatting on the ground, carefully wiping Lauren's tears.

Lily looked at the scene, a faint smile on her lips. "With her by your side, I'm at ease. She is willing to do so much. I'm really touched."

"But..." She looked up at Jasper, "I have two requests for you."

Jasper tightly held her hand, "Tell me."

"First, don't get involved with the Phoebe family; don't seek revenge on them. The grudge between me and the Phoebe family is personal. The Phoebe family killed my daughter; that's why I have a vendetta against them. But my daughter had nothing to do with the Foster family, she was born before I married your grandfather, my ex-husband's daughter."

She added, "The Phoebe family killed my daughter. I killed one of their sons. They poisoned me, and I drove them out of the country. These grudges were settled the year I retired when you were seventeen. I should have died then, you let me live so many more years. So after I die, don't seek revenge on the Phoebe family; don't destroy your family with Adeline because of me."

Jasper held Lily's hand, remaining silent.

He didn't want to agree.

For so many years, he had followed Lily's words, not clashing with the Phoebe family, even avoiding them when expanding business overseas.

But what was the result?

The Phoebe family allowed Molly to return to Radiance Springs, putting Lily in this situation!

If it weren't for Adeline's cleverness, it wouldn't just be Lily lying in the hospital bed now!

Leaning against the headboard, Lily looked at the hatred in Jasper's eyes and silently sighed.

She didn't force Jasper to agree, but continued speaking softly, "My second request is that Adeline is a good woman. No matter what, you can't give up on her and three children. Unless Adeline herself tells you that she doesn't love you and the kids, don't believe it. Can you promise me that?"

Lily's words made Jasper pause.

After a while, he smiled bitterly at Lily, "Grandma, even if you didn't say it, I would."

Lily closed her eyes, "If you can do that, I'll be at ease."

Across the ocean, in a villa.

A woman in an elegant gown and exquisite makeup angrily smashed a vase on the floor, shattering it.

"Still can't reach Molly? She is useless; you too!"
