Chapter 201 She Drinks for Jasper, Naturally

"The restaurant fell silent, with only the sound of Ronald drinking water.

Stella looked at Jasper's face in disbelief, her expression twisted.

Jasper actually asked Adeline to feed him in front of her!?

“I don't want to.”

Adeline coldly glanced at Jasper, then at the stunned Stella, before lowering her head to fiddle with her phone, preparing to read the news for the day.

Stella smiled, not opposing Adeline for the first time today. “Since Ms. Wilson doesn't want to, I'll do it.”

“Why doesn't she want to?” Jasper lightly tapped the table with his left hand. “I injured my arm today, all to shield her from that rock. I got injured for her and even got a dozen stitches, is it too much to ask her to feed me a meal?”

The man's words had reached this point.

Adeline raised her head somewhat irritably, glaring at him. “But Mr. Foster, isn't Ms. Foster feeding you?”

“You've finished eating, she hasn't. I got injured for you, and you have a problem with feeding me?”

Adeline paused, then understood.

Jasper asked her to feed him not for any other reason, but because he felt sorry for Stella.

True.

It had been some time since they entered the restaurant, and Stella hadn't eaten a single bite while trying to feed him.

Back when she was with Jasper, he never showed such concern for her.

She stood up with her phone, asked Ronald to make room for her, and walked over to Stella.

Adeline smiled wryly at Stella. “Please, Ms. Foster.”

Stella bit her lip, glanced at Jasper coquettishly. “Jasper, I'm not hungry.”

Jasper looked at her and faintly smiled. “Go ahead and eat. You haven't eaten anything all morning, don't starve yourself.”

Stella turned to glare at Adeline, then sat down next to Ronald and began eating angrily.

Adeline took a deep breath, picked up the plate and utensils Stella had used to feed Jasper, picked up a piece of salad, and brought it to Jasper's mouth.

“Open up.”

Adeline's attitude was icy.

But the dishes she picked were ones Jasper liked.

The man smiled and ate what she offered.

Adeline continued to feed him.

Her movements were not gentle enough, her gaze cold, her attitude indifferent.

But it was this Adeline that inexplicably warmed Jasper's heart.

He thought of the countless nights he held her in his arms.

Back then, she was as passionate as fire.

And now, she was cold, as if she didn't want anything to do with him.

This extreme dichotomy in her attitude made him curious about the real Adeline, what kind of personality she truly had?

What were her true feelings towards him, love or hatred?

Seeing Jasper staring blankly at Adeline, Stella became even more irritated.

Her eating became impatient and rude.

Cough cough!

Ronald lightly coughed beside them, hinting at something.

Jasper then shifted his gaze away from Adeline.

“Open up.”

Adeline held the utensils and brought the food to his mouth.

Jasper squinted. “I shielded you from harm and got injured, and this is your attitude?”

Adeline continued to feed him. “If there's a next time, I hope you won't shield me again. First, I'm just an ordinary employee of the Foster Group; I don't want to owe you any favors.

“Second, if I get injured, I can get work injury leave and compensation. If something like this happens again, I'm willing to get injured.”

After speaking, Adeline glanced at Stella. “So I won't be forced to accept others' kindness and be accused of scheming.”

Adeline's words made Stella pale suddenly.

She frowned, wanting to say something, but a glance from Jasper stopped her.

“If there's a next time, I'll still help you.” Jasper turned and lightly smiled at Adeline, “Stella was right earlier. It's only right for a boss to protect outstanding employees.”

He carefully observed Adeline's expression. “Of course, I also hope the protected employee can show her gratitude. For example, when feeding me, don't be so unhappy.”

Adeline paused.

After a moment, she took a deep breath and continued to feed him.

But her attitude had indeed softened a lot.

Jasper was right.

If they set aside their personal relationship, they were just a boss and an outstanding employee. In such a relationship, she should indeed be grateful to him and not be cold toward him.

Soon, lunch was over.

After a brief rest, they hurried to the next company for inspection.

Compared to the morning inspection, the afternoon one was much safer and simpler.

Basically, it was to understand some cutting-edge design concepts and the latest trends in the jewelry industry.

There was no risk of being smashed, but Stella's various behaviors in the afternoon still disgusted Adeline.

For example, she couldn't help but reach out to touch the samples displayed on the showcase.
She would flip through other people's sketches. She even drew on the public drawing board at the entrance of someone else's company's design department.

She was Ms. Foster, and Adeline couldn't blame her, she could only nod and apologize to others before warning Stella not to do it again.

After a whole afternoon, Adeline was physically and mentally exhausted.

Adeline felt that Stella was definitely doing it on purpose.

Because anyone with a bit of manners wouldn't make such mistakes when visiting someone else's home.

Stella's actions in the afternoon were devoid of manners and grace.

She clearly just wanted to disgust Adeline.

Finally, at 8 o'clock in the evening, the day of inspection came to an end.

The owner of the jewelry company they visited last were old acquaintances with Jasper, insisting on inviting them to dinner together.

Jasper didn't refuse and directly took Adeline and Stella, along with Ronald who was helping, to the dinner.

Before they even started eating, Conor Davis began toasting Jasper: “Mr. Foster, it's been a long time!”

“Conor.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Stella chuckled lightly and raised her hand to stop Conor from offering the wine. “Jasper is injured, you've seen it.”

Conor paused, then smiled, “Since Mr. Foster can't drink, can you drink on his behalf, Ms. Foster?”

“I can't.” Stella said, “I have a very low alcohol tolerance. If I end up vomiting on the table, it won't look good.”

After that, she directly pointed in Adeline's direction. “Why not let Ms. Wilson do it?”

“Neither Jasper nor I can drink, she is the most important figure besides us on this business trip, an outstanding talent of the Foster Group. Moreover...”

The woman coldly curled her lips. “Jasper's arm was injured because of her. It's only right for her to drink for Jasper.”
