Chapter 864 I Am Short On Cash Right Now

"Mr. Phoebe, we have a problem!"

At the Phoebe Group, Oliver had just finished untangling the complex web of connections with the Torres Group and was feeling overwhelmed in his office when his secretary burst in.

"Something big has happened!"

He furrowed his brow slightly. "What's got you so worked up?"

The train of thought he had been following was completely derailed.

The secretary, out of breath, began to explain. "Someone's outside our building holding signs and black-and-white photos, causing a scene!"

"They're claiming that our CEO, Adeline, killed their daughter and have brought a lot of reporters with them!"

"They're saying if the Phoebe Group doesn't compensate them or give them an explanation, they'll bring their daughter's body and place it at our doorstep for everyone to see what kind of company we are."

As she spoke, the secretary quickly handed Oliver her phone. "Look, it's all over the internet right now!"

Oliver stood up immediately and took the phone from her.

Sure enough, just as she said, the live stream showed the parents of Giselle, whom he had seen at the police station that morning.

The live stream had tens of thousands of viewers, and the online comments were buzzing.

#Adeline Murderer

#The Phoebe Group Greed

#The Phoebe Group Get Out Of Oceancrest City

All the negative news about Adeline and the Phoebe Group had shot to the top of the trending list.

Oliver squinted, carefully observing the main characters in the live stream.

He quickly recognized a few familiar faces.

Among the most vocal agitators were actors from a well-known PR firm in Oceancrest City.

And that PR firm was secretly owned by the Torres family.

He narrowed his eyes and quickly headed to the surveillance room.

The footage showed that from the moment Giselle's parents had sneaked to the Phoebe Group's building to the current city-wide uproar, less than an hour had passed.

Oliver squinted. This was definitely a meticulously planned operation.

The mastermind could only be Jasper or someone from the Torres family.

But now wasn't the time to figure out who was behind it.

He needed to calm the company's employees and prevent panic.

Taking a deep breath, Oliver instructed, "Get me in touch with Brandon, and compile a list of all the media present. We'll sue each one for false reporting."

"Invite Giselle's parents to the Phoebe Group's VIP room and treat them well."

"And finally, clear out the troublemakers at the entrance!"

After giving these orders, Oliver took a deep breath, returned to the vice president's office, and rubbed his aching forehead.

A few minutes later, he received a call from Brandon.

On the other end, Brandon let out a bitter laugh. "Daisy and I were kicked out of the Torres family because of last night's incident."

"Don't contact me about the Torres family matters anymore. Talk to my grandmother. She's the real head of the family now."

He sighed. "Overnight, Daisy and I were thrown out of the family."

"Can you take us in?"

Oliver's brow furrowed deeply. "You were kicked out?"

"Yeah."

Before Brandon could repeat his request for shelter, Oliver hung up the phone with a decisive "click."

No hesitation, no second thoughts.

On the other end, Brandon listened to the dial tone and closed his eyes in frustration.

"How did it go?" Daisy, holding Patty, hurried over.

"What did Oliver say?"

Brandon shot her a cold look and threw his phone to the ground with a loud "bang."

"He refused."

Oliver's attitude said it all.

The loud crash startled the baby in Daisy's arms, making her cry loudly.

Daisy frowned, irritably trying to soothe the baby while gritting her teeth. "Shut up!"

"If I had known, I wouldn't have stolen this baby!"

"Now we're homeless, stuck in this rented villa, and have to take care of a newborn!"

If she could, she would have strangled the baby right then and there.

Brandon glared at her, suppressing his anger, and took Patty into his arms. "We still need to take good care of her. She's our only bargaining chip."

Daisy bit her lip. "Then I'll go find Jasper!"

"We can't go to Jasper."

Brandon squinted. "Jasper is too smart. If we rashly use Patty to threaten him, we might end up with nothing."

"What we need to do now is help the Phoebe family get Adeline out of jail as soon as possible."

"Adeline is a woman, naturally emotional and indecisive, and Patty is her biological daughter."

"Plus, Adeline is now the CEO of the Phoebe Group, with significant money and power."

"She's the best target for our threats."

Daisy pouted. "But how do we get by now?"

"We sold our car and luxury goods, and only managed to scrape together a few million dollars. With a baby, it'll be gone in no time!"

"I have a plan."

Brandon picked up the phone he had thrown and found Randy's number.

Soon, Randy answered.

"Randy."

Brandon's voice was smooth and confident. "Congratulations, you're now the sole heir of the Torres family."

Randy was silent for a moment, then chuckled. "Brandon, what are you talking about?"

"Grandma is just angry. Once she calms down, you'll be back."

As he spoke, Randy lay in a hospital bed, looking at his right hand, which was missing a finger.

"My abilities don't compare to yours. How could I inherit the Torres family?"

The Torres family would never let a true cripple inherit the family business.

Fiona had his finger cut off last night, not only to clear him of murder charges but also to sever his chances of inheriting the family fortune.

When it came to ruthlessness, no one matched her.

Leo had said Fiona was the most ruthless woman in the world.

Now, Randy understood that all too well.

"I know I'll return to the Torres family eventually."

Brandon's voice was calm. "But Randy, I'm short on cash right now."

"If you could help me out, that would be great. If not..."

His tone turned menacing. "I'll have to send all the dirt I have on you to the Oceancrest City reporters and give them a big story to run with."
