Chapter 710 Do Your Best to Win Her Back
When Adeline stepped out of the walk-in closet, Brandon was already waiting outside the room.
She was wearing a deep navy blue gown, the hem of which was long and adorned with a cascade of stars, making it look incredibly elegant.
The back of the gown was open, revealing her beautiful shoulder blades, while the front was strapless with two sapphire blue ribbons that tied around her neck, accentuating her collarbones and neck.
Adeline wore minimal makeup, just a light touch that complemented her loose, flowing hair, making her look stunning beyond compare.
Even though he had prepared himself, Brandon was still taken aback by Adeline's beauty, leaving him momentarily speechless.
He stared at her in awe for a long time, unable to find the words.
Brandon's eyes were filled with admiration, making Adeline feel somewhat embarrassed.
She smiled awkwardly, lifting the hem of her dress as she walked over to Brandon.
"Do I look okay?"
"You look amazing."
Brandon took a deep breath and reached out to take Adeline's hand. "You're the woman I crossed half the world to save."
Brandon's words made Adeline smile.
"Are you kidding me? Wasn't it just a coincidence that you saved me back then?"
Brandon realized his mistake and laughed sheepishly. "I guess your beauty made me say the wrong thing."
His unabashed compliment made Adeline a little embarrassed.
She bit her lip and glanced out the window.
The servants who had been dredging the sewer were still at it.
She frowned. "Haven't they found it yet?"
Brandon sighed. "The water in the sewer is flowing. It might have been washed away to another place.”
As he spoke, he walked over and wrapped his arms around Adeline's waist, resting his head against her side. "Don't worry, I'll have them keep looking. We'll find it eventually. It might just take some time."
Since he said so, Adeline didn't think much more about it.
But Brandon's embrace, with his head resting on her waist, made Adeline a bit uncomfortable.
Not wanting to push him away directly, she glanced at the time. "Shouldn't we be leaving?"
Brandon's eyes darkened. "Yes, it's time."
At a hospital in Oceancrest City.
Jasper lay with his eyes closed, the color returning to his face.
The doctor adjusted the dosage of his medication, frowning slightly. "Mr. Foster, you really need to rest properly. These medications can temporarily ward off your fatigue and keep you energized, but the side effects are significant. You might end up unconscious for days. Your health isn't great to begin with; you can't keep pushing yourself like this."
Jasper leaned back against the headboard, his voice tinged with bitterness. "If I lose the most important thing because of my fatigue, I won't be happy even if I'm healthy."
Seeing his stubbornness, the doctor sighed and said no more.
Ryan burst through the door. "Mr. Foster! We found it! It was all the Torres family's doing!"
Ryan, out of breath, spread the newly discovered information in front of Jasper.
"It was Randy from the Torres family who led the team to Radiance Springs to kidnap Mrs. Foster. Randy somehow got hold of Oliver Phoebe's seal, impersonated him, rented a car in Radiance Springs, and used the Torres family's private jet, pretending it was the Phoebe family's, to apply for a flight path at the airport."
"After Mrs. Foster was brought to Oceancrest City, she never left the Torres Mansion. But during this time, all the information we received indicated that Mrs. Foster was at the Phoebe Mansion."
Jasper took the documents Ryan brought back, his eyes narrowing slightly.
This was a scheme set up by the Phoebe family and the Torres family.
The Phoebe family provided the fake tools, and the Torres family kept Adeline confined.
They cut off all communication channels between him and Adeline, leading to mutual misunderstandings.
He thought Adeline was imprisoned in the Phoebe Mansion's dungeon by the Phoebe family.
Adeline thought that after he arrived in Oceancrest City, he was too focused on seeking revenge against the Phoebe family to look for her.
Jasper closed his eyes.
He had seen such two-faced tactics in business before.
In the past, he could handle it with ease.
But this time he had indeed fallen into their trap.
Because what they took was the most important thing in his heart.
He was too afraid of losing Adeline, too afraid she would leave him again; so he became agitated and fell into their trap.
Jasper took a deep breath and looked at the doctor. "Can you increase the dosage?"
The doctor's eyes widened. "Mr. Foster, are you crazy? Increasing the dosage would be playing with your life!"
"I'm not that easy to kill." Jasper sneered. "I won't die before crushing the Phoebe family and the Torres family."
With that, he gathered the documents and looked at Ryan.
"Tonight, we'll split up. You keep an eye on the Phoebe family. Don't give them any chance to recover."
In this scheme between the Phoebe family and the Torres family, the Phoebe family had been severely damaged, almost going bankrupt several times.
The one playing along with the Torres family wouldn't be the Phoebe family head, Howard.
Oliver Phoebe wouldn't be foolish enough to stage a play with the Torres family and let them use his seal.
So, the one collaborating with the Torres family could only be Daisy Phoebe.
Daisy and the Torres family were staging this play, likely to make a significant move when the Phoebe family was on its last legs, aiming to seize control of the Phoebe family.
If Jasper guessed correctly, Daisy and the Torres family would make a big move tonight, thinking he would be at his weakest.
They had been setting this up for a long time, all for tonight.
So, he couldn't let them succeed.
Jasper took his seal from his pocket and handed it to Ryan. "Tonight, you are me. The fate of the Phoebe Group is in your hands."
Ryan's eyes widened, and he quickly tried to return the seal to Jasper. "Mr. Foster, this..."
Jasper smiled bitterly and pushed the seal back to Ryan.
"You've been with me for so many years. I know your capabilities. I trust you. Remember, no matter what, don't let the Phoebe Group recover tonight."
Ryan was so anxious that tears welled up in his eyes. "But Mr. Foster, I'm afraid I can't do it."
Jasper closed his eyes, instructing the doctor to increase his medication while murmuring to himself. "Just do your best. Tonight, I must do my best to get her back."
