Chapter 79 Listen to You

The night breeze was slightly chilly.

Jasper coldly smirked, his deep and mysterious gaze swept over Adeline's face, "What do you hate me for?"

"I hate you..." Adeline forced a bitter smile, raising her intoxicated eyes to look at him, "I hate that you don't care about me, don't care about Lauren!"

The man took a cigarette from his pocket and lit it, "Who said I don't care about Lauren?"

The woman was stunned, "You care about Lauren... Why aren't you dealing with Molly then?"

"Who said that if I care about Lauren, I have to deal with Molly?"

Adeline pursed her lips, her drunken mind struggling to keep up.

She stumbled towards him, eventually tumbling directly onto him, "You just don't care... Don't care about Lauren, and even less about me."

Originally, Jasper had no intention of paying attention to her.

But this woman fell onto him.

Even though she was drunk, she remained a delicate and fragrant woman.

He hesitated, then finally raised his hand and supported her up.

"Don't... Don't touch me..."

Adeline lacked the strength to resist, but stubbornly managed to spit out these words, "You only like Molly... Not me!"

The man looked at her, not saying a word.

The woman intensified her crying, "You like Molly."

"You've always liked Molly!"

"You've never cared about me!"

"If you don't care about me, why did you let me stay by your side?"

"If you don't care about me, why did you kiss me?"

"If you don't care about me, why did you almost sleep with me..."

She rambled on, expressing her grievances with a trembling voice.

The night was gentle.

Her intoxicated eyes held a mixture of anger, sadness, and despair, as if she wanted to pour out all the emotions stored in her heart.

In the deep and intoxicated gaze, there was a mixture of grievances and unwillingness.

Jasper's heart skipped a beat.

After a moment of silence, he lowered his voice and let out a bitter smile. "Who said...?"

The man's voice was scattered by the night wind. "Who said I didn't care about you?"

The woman lying on him stiffened her body and didn't speak any further.

Jasper, rare with a good temper, refrained from pushing her away.

"Adeline." He sighed impatiently, extinguishing his cigarette. "You're dangerous."

So dangerous that he almost forgot the woman he had been waiting for, for six years.

Sometimes, he felt that Adeline was just like her, while other times he couldn't help but feel guilty.

The woman lying on him didn't react at all.

Jasper furrowed his brows and carefully turned her over only to realize that she had fallen asleep on him.

Tears streaked her face.

He sighed helplessly, swiftly picking her up and carrying her as he walked back to the villa.

Adeline used to sleep in the children's room with Lauren, but today Lauren was in a bad mood and had locked the room.

Even if it wasn't locked, he couldn't place this drunken lady in Lauren's room.

Holding her, he took a moment to think and then lifted his legs, carrying her straight upstairs and placing her on his own master bed.

Ryan was shocked.

"Sir, this..."

"Get her some water and aspirin."

"...Yes."

"Jasper, I hate you..." Adeline murmured those words continuously as she lay on the large bed.

Jasper loosened his tie and took off his coat, looking down at her from above.

She said she hated him.

What gave her the right to hate him, just because of Molly?

Or was it because he knew she was leaving and didn't stop her?

Downstairs, Ryan anxiously waited at the kitchen door.

In the kitchen, the staff was diligently preparing the soup.

Lauren came downstairs for a drink of water and happened to overhear Ryan and the staff talking:

"The master is in a rush; that woman is completely wasted."

An alarm bell rang in the little girl's mind instantly.

That woman is completely wasted?

She bit her lip and walked over fiercely, looking up at him. "Ryan, what woman are you talking about? What do you mean by completely wasted?"

Ryan was taken aback. "Miss Lauren..."

"I asked you, what woman, what do you mean by completely wasted?"

Helplessly, Ryan had no choice but to explain truthfully. "It's Adeline. She got drunk and the master took her into the bedroom."

The little girl was stunned.

She stood still for a moment before finally biting her lip and saying, "Then...hurry up and make the soup."

After speaking, she suddenly remembered something and innocently looked at Ryan. "I heard that people speak the truth when they're drunk. Is that true?"

Ryan was surprised. "Lauren, who taught you that?"

"I saw it in a TV drama," the little girl replied innocently.

Frowning slightly, Lauren said, "Prepare some wine for me. I want to go drink with Daddy!"

She remembered how Uncle Brandon used to speak his true thoughts about Mommy when he was drunk.

Daddy must be the same!

She couldn't understand why Daddy made this decision.

Could it be that if she got Daddy drunk, she would finally know what he really thought?

Why let that woman Molly go, why make Mommy sad!

"Miss Lauren..." Ryan paused, "Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"

Lauren glared at him coldly. "What's inappropriate?"

"In this family, my father comes first, and I come second! Don't you listen to me!?"

The little girl was usually gentle, but she had the same imposing manner as Jasper when she was serious.

Ryan hesitated, "And the soup..."

After a moment of hesitation, Lauren said, "Don't cook it."

Although the soup was for Mommy, she couldn't manipulate Daddy if he had a chance to drink it.

With that in mind, she pouted, "You can still cook it, but wait until Daddy and I finished drinking. Otherwise, I'm afraid I won't be able to get him drunk!"

Ryan laughed helplessly, "Alright."

"Then, Miss Lauren, I'll give you an hour. Regardless of whether you manage to get Mr. Jasper drunk or not, I will deliver the soup to them after an hour."

Ryan knew very well that Jasper was a reasonable man.

How could he possibly be intoxicated by Lauren within an hour?

So, Ryan's words were just to appease Lauren.

"Okay!" The little girl pondered for a moment, then nodded. "Bring the strongest alcohol in the house!"

Ryan: "...Alright."

Jasper had been waiting in the bedroom upstairs for a long time.

He heard a knock on the door.

Thinking it was Ryan, he opened the door ready to get angry, but instead, he saw the timid little girl standing at the door.

Lauren was wearing a pale white nightgown, with her black hair falling loosely. She stared at him with her eyes even darker than her hair. "Daddy, can we talk?"

The man furrowed his brows and glanced at the bottle of red wine in Lauren's arms.

The wine bottle was quite large, taking up most of the space in her embrace. She struggled to hold onto it, the way she held a wine glass in her hand looked both ridiculous and adorable.

Jasper sighed, crouched down, and took the wine bottle from her arms. "It's so late, why did you bring a wine bottle to my room?"

"Hmm!" Lauren didn't hide her thoughts. "I want to make you drink as a punishment."

The little girl's voice was childish and cute. "I'm really mad about what happened tonight. If you don't drink the wine that I give you and explain yourself clearly to me, I won't forgive you!"

Jasper's hand holding the wine bottle paused for a moment.

After a moment, he smiled bitterly and said, "Alright, I'll listen to you. I'll drink."
