Chapter 520 Can You Really Not Forgive Me?
When Adeline got home, it was already past ten at night.
Alice asked, "Miss Wilson, why are you soaked?"
Seeing Adeline return, Alice quickly came up to her and ushered her into the bathroom for a shower.
Lying in the bathtub, Adeline's mind replayed the image of Bennett's cold and indifferent demeanor in the car.
She had never thought Bennett and Jasper were so alike until she saw Bennett tonight. It turned out that Bennett's cold demeanor was almost identical to Jasper's. The only difference was that one was a larger version, and the other a smaller one.
However, the mere thought of Jasper inevitably brought her back to that moment in the hospital, where Jasper, in a state of frantic urgency, cradled Luna as he sought out a doctor.
Adeline sighed.
If it weren't for the need to bring down Luna and force Molly to take action herself, she really didn't want to get involved in Jasper's affairs anymore after tonight's events. Jasper being deceived by Luna was his own fault!
After her shower, Adeline received a call from Blake and Lauren. They and Lily had already returned to Emerald Crest Estate.
Lily was aware of Adeline's laxative incident but wasn't angry. "Don't blame Adeline; even I wanted to give her some laxatives to teach her a lesson!"
Moreover, although Lily accidentally drank Luna's laxative, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because it cured her long-standing constipation problem.
Not only was Lily not angry, but she was also particularly happy and asked Adeline when she would visit again. Lily wanted to try Adeline's cashew shrimp without crushed peanuts.
"We'll see." Adeline sighed and comforted Blake with a few words before hanging up the phone.
Both of them tacitly avoided mentioning Luna and Jasper. Because they weren't sure if the action against Luna was a success or a failure.
Even though Luna's true colors had been exposed, Jasper remained outside the operating room all night, waiting for her to be saved.
After hanging up, Adeline threw herself onto the big bed and fell asleep with her eyes closed.
She had a dream, in which she and the children were back in their old house abroad.
In that small rented apartment, Adeline was busy in the kitchen, with Bennett helping her.
In the living room, Blake was sitting on the carpet with a laptop, typing away quickly.
Next to him, Lauren was leaning against the sofa, drawing jewelry designs on a sketchpad.
Bennett, who was busy in the kitchen with her, glanced helplessly at the two little ones on the sofa. "You two, come over and help! Mommy is working hard to cook!"
Seeing the two little ones still unmoved, Bennett put his hands on his hips and spoke in a grown-up manner, "Especially you, Lauren! Blake is sick and can't move around, but what about you? Why don't you come and help Mommy and me?"
Lauren looked up at Bennett with a smile. "Lauren isn't feeling well either. Bennett, you're so capable; all the care and help for Mommy should be left to you as you are so almighty!"
Blake sighed, closed his laptop, and stood up. "I'll help."
Bennett quickly pushed him back onto the sofa. "Blake, stay. I was just joking! Mommy has me to help!"
With that, Bennett went back to the kitchen to help Adeline cook.
Soon, the meal was ready, and the family sat together happily to eat.
At that moment, two women showed up at the door. One was Molly, and the other was Luna.
Bennett's expression changed instantly, becoming cold and unfamiliar. "Hello, my name is Liam."
Then, he walked over to Molly, grabbed her hand tightly, and left.
Luna, on the other hand, took a group of people and snatched Blake and Lauren away.
With all three kids taken, Adeline panicked. Knowing she couldn't fight Luna's people, she could only chase after Bennett. "Bennett! Bennett! I'm your mom!"
Bennett smiled, broke free from Molly's hand, and ran over to hug Adeline. Then Adeline felt a sharp pain in her stomach! The knife in Bennett's hand had pierced her heart.
"Bennett!" Adeline woke up in a panic, realizing it was just a dream.
Everything in the dream felt so real that even after waking up, Adeline had to clutch her chest in a daze.
Adeline thought of Bennett sitting in the front seat last night, seriously asking for her name. Her heart ached as if something was being twisted inside.
Adeline knew that winning Bennett back and restoring his memories would be a long and tough journey. So, she couldn't fall now; she couldn't think her efforts were in vain just because Jasper was taking care of Luna.
No matter how much Jasper liked Luna, repeated disappointments and schemes would eventually make him lose interest in her! As long as Adeline did everything she needed to do, Jasper would see Luna's true colors sooner or later! By then, Luna wouldn't be able to help Molly anymore, and it would be easier for her to find Molly and locate Bennett and Sebastian!
Thinking of this, Adeline took a deep breath and was about to get up when her phone rang.
It was Luna calling.
Seeing the number, Adeline frowned.
Wasn't Luna still being resuscitated last night? How could she recover so quickly and even call her?
Adeline had no intention of answering the call.
She could guess that if she answered, Luna would arrogantly tell her that Jasper hadn't done anything to her. She might even put on a show of affection with Jasper in front of her.
Adeline sneered and tossed the phone aside, turning to wash up.
She certainly didn't want to answer Luna's call in the morning and ruin her mood for the entire day.
Adeline still had to continue her efforts to find Molly and bring down Luna for her Bennett!
The phone rang for a long time without anyone answering.
On the other end of the line, Luna frowned in frustration but eventually suppressed her displeasure and continued to call.
Still, no one answered.
After a while, she finally gave up.
Luna put away her phone and looked at Jasper with a pitiful expression. "Jasper, Adeline isn't answering my calls. Don't worry; I'll keep calling today. If she keeps ignoring me, I'll go find her in person! I definitely will."
Luna looked at Jasper's cold back, her voice filled with grievance and a hint of tears. "I will beg for Adeline's forgiveness."
"Don't waste your effort." Jasper's voice was indifferent. "This may not be the best hotel in Radiance Springs, but the environment and service are decent. You can stay here for now. I'll have Ryan bring your luggage from Emerald Crest Estate today. Don't bother coming back."
Jasper's words made Luna's tears fall instantly. "Jasper. I've been by your side for so long and always been obedient! As for that little mistake yesterday, can't you forgive me?"
