Chapter 681 Then Thank You
Nathan's actions not only shocked Adeline but also left Rex, who was being handcuffed by the police in the distance, nearly speechless!
Rex never thought that by following Nathan's orders to kill Lily for the Foster family fortune, he would ultimately be betrayed by his own father.
As the police were taking him away, Nathan suddenly switched sides, not only slapping himself but also pledging loyalty to Jasper!
Rex glared at Nathan in fury, shouting, "Stop pretending! Everything I did was because of you, all your plan! If it weren't for you, I would never have killed anyone! Officer, it was him! He incited me! Arrest him too!"
Nathan scoffed coldly, "You're lying!"
"I didn't do anything!" Rex, enraged, broke free from the police and charged at Nathan, starting a fight!
The stage descended into chaos.
All reporters in the audience snapped photos.
It was big news when Nathan and Rex turned against each other!
After Rex broke free, the police had no choice but to take both them away.
Ten minutes later, the venue calmed down.
Adeline lowered her head and straightened Jasper's clothes, which Nathan had messed up earlier.
Once his clothes were in order, Jasper calmly stepped to the center of the stage.
"I'm sorry you all had to witness this family drama. Does anyone still think Adeline and I killed my grandmother? Does anyone still think I should give up the Foster family business?"
The room fell silent.
Finally, Mia stood up gracefully."If there wasn't solid evidence, the police wouldn't have come here to make arrests. Anyway, I don't believe Jasper would plot to kill his own grandmother. What do you all think?"
With Mia leading the way, the crowd began to agree.
Everyone praised Jasper for his courage and wisdom in escaping Nathan and Rex's schemes.
The atmosphere in the venue became harmonious.
Meanwhile, in a small clinic on the outskirts of Radiance Springs, Molly looked at the TV screen, almost popping out in disbelief.
How could this be?
Today was supposed to be Jasper and Adeline's last public appearance!
How could a piece of gauze turn things around for them?
Rex was truly useless!
At that moment, Molly's phone rang. She picked it up with trembling hands.
"Molly, I'm watching the news from Radiance Springs." The woman's voice on the other end was cold and indifferent, "You promised me that this time, Adeline would either die or spend her life in prison. Is this your flawless plan?"
Molly clutched the phone, her voice shaking, "I just... I didn't expect..."
"I didn't expect you to be so useless either." The woman's voice was cold and indifferent, "Oliver Phoebe have taken Joseph to Radiance Springs to find that woman from back then. Be careful. If he finds out what you've done in Radiance Springs and the Phoebe family wants to punish you, I won't be able to protect you."
The woman sighed, "I was willing to fund and support you because of our sisterhood. As long as Adeline is out of the picture, the real Phoebe family daughter will never come back. But now, it's my fault for knowing you're useless and still asking you to do such a difficult task. Now you have no way out. If Jasper really comes after you, you won't be able to hide in Radiance Springs. As your sister, far away, I can't do anything for you."
The woman's words made Molly bite her lip hard.
"Don't worry." Molly eyes narrowed fiercely as she said, "If I can't survive, I'll make sure Adeline and her three kids die with me!"
The woman on the other end sniffled, "But Molly, I still hope you can come back alive."
Molly didn't respond, and hung up the phone.
As she put down the phone, the TV showed Jasper affectionately holding Adeline's shoulder, talking about arranging a memorial for Lily.
Their loving gestures and expressions deeply pierced Molly's heart.
She angrily grabbed something and smashed it on the ground.
"Bitch! Bitch! They're all bitches! Why has Adeline always overshadowed her since we were kids! If it weren't for Adeline, I wouldn't be so jealous! It's all her fault! All her fault!"
After smashing things in anger, Molly sat among the debris, panting.
The door opened.
A clinic staff member glared at her fiercely, "You just broke five thousand dollars' worth of stuff! Nathan prepaid only five thousand dollars for you here. Now the prepaid account is empty, and he is in jail."
The person walked in, grabbed Molly's things, and threw them out the door. "Get out! You're not welcome here!"
Outside the clinic was a muddy road.
Molly, covered in mud, looked filthy. She bit her lip, wiped her face, and staggered to her feet.
After Nathan fished her out of the sea, he took all her cards, cash, and even her phone.
Nathan said he was keeping them safe, but she knew he spent it all!
Now, she only had a phone to make calls and a few changes of clothes.
This remote area was deserted; she had nowhere to seek help!
Molly, barefoot and dirty, hugged her bag and walked along the road, cursing Adeline and Jasper with every step!
After walking for who knows how long, a truck stopped beside her.
It was a small truck loaded with white flowers, driven by a young woman.
Seeing Molly's pitiful state, the driver, thinking she was a local without money for a ride, kindly stopped.
"Are you heading to the city? I can give you a lift."
Molly frowned at the freckled girl, her eyes showing disdain.
But with nightfall approaching and no money, she'd have to spend the night in the wilderness if she didn't go to the city.
So she squinted and asked, "Where is this truck going?"
The driver smiled, "Jasper Foster's grandmother passed away. They're holding a grand memorial. These white flowers are for the Foster family memorial."
Molly paused, a wicked smile curling her lips.
She opened the door and got in, "Thanks for the ride."
