Chapter 477 I'll Go Myself

Luna popped in, "Am I crashing the party?"

Seeing both Jasper and Adeline staring at her, Luna bit her lip, tears starting to pool in her eyes. "Sorry, didn't mean to. Just needed some air up here."

Luna sniffled and wiped her tears. "You guys carry on. I'll bounce."

With that, she turned to leave.

After a few steps, like she just remembered something, she glanced back at Jasper. "Oh, Jasper, if you're too busy for dinner, I can just grab something solo."

The more she talked, the more her voice cracked with sobs. "You go do your thing."

Finally, she turned away and started heading down the stairs, one step at a time, looking all anxious.

But then, out of nowhere, she missed a step and fell.

In that split second, Jasper lunged forward and caught Luna in his arms.

Jasper asked, "You okay? How could you be so careless? Let's get you back."

Jasper held her like she was made of glass and hurried off.

But in his rush, Jasper didn't notice he had bumped into Adeline's shoulder, almost knocking her over.

Luckily, Adeline managed to catch herself with her fingers before she hit the ground, but she still felt the sting from the impact.

Adeline struggled to stand, watching Jasper carry Luna away, a bitter smile creeping onto her face.

It wasn't until Jasper and Luna were long gone that Adeline remembered she had come to the hospital to talk to Jasper about Molly and the kid.

After a lot of back-and-forth in her head, Adeline finally left the rooftop and headed to Luna's room. She planned to give Jasper the photo and then split.

But when she arrived, she overheard Luna and Jasper talking about her.

Luna asked, "Jasper, do you still have a thing for Miss Wilson?"

Inside, Luna's voice was soft and gentle. "If you do, I can step aside."

Luna said, "Even though I've got less than a year left, I don't want to be the reason you and Miss Wilson can't be together."

Jasper's voice came in low and cold. "I was too impulsive earlier. I kissed her to shut her up 'cause she pissed me off. Won't happen again; don't worry."

"Okay." Luna bit her lip. After a long pause, she slowly said, "Jasper, can you promise me to keep your distance from Adeline? I can't stand her always coming around."

Jasper nodded. "Okay."

Luna asked, "What if she uses the kid as an excuse to get close to you?"

After Luna said this, there was a long silence before Jasper's low voice came from the room. "She can handle the kid's stuff herself. I'm out."

Now that Lauren and Blake's illnesses were sorted, he had nothing else to worry about.

Outside the door, Adeline listened to Jasper's words and shut her eyes tight.

In the end, she decided not to ask Jasper for help with Molly and the kid. He was right; she could handle the kid's stuff herself.

Feeling lost and down, Adeline had just taken a few steps out of the hospital when she ran into Vikram, who had been waiting at the entrance.

Vikram called, "Adeline!"

He rushed up and grabbed her wrist. "Hold up, let me explain."

Adeline squinted and spotted Ryan lurking by the hospital entrance, watching them. So she smiled. "Didn't you say you wanted to come over to my place? Let's roll."

As Adeline spoke, she sidestepped Vikram and hopped into his car. "My place is big enough; you can crash there tonight."

Vikram stood there, stunned for a sec before quickly following her into the car. "You're finally gonna hear me out?"

Sitting in the passenger seat, Adeline watched Ryan head back inside, then leaned back with a long sigh of relief.

Seeing her like that, Vikram glanced in the direction she had been looking.

Watching Ryan's retreating figure, Vikram sighed and shifted in his seat. He looked at Adeline with a resigned smile. "So that's why you agreed so fast. You did it for Jasper to see, huh?"

Adeline closed her eyes and sighed before opening them to look at him. "Didn't you say you wanted to explain? Spill it."

Since she was already in Vikram's car, she couldn't just bail without hearing him out.

Vikram squinted and smiled. He locked the car and started the engine. "Let's head to your place."

Adeline frowned, puzzled. "Why are you so set on going to my place?"

Earlier in the elevator, it was this that made Jasper misunderstand them. And now he still wanted to go to her place?

Vikram held the steering wheel, smiling faintly as he drove. "As for why I helped Luna and gave her funds, Blake knows the whole story."

Hearing him mention Blake, Adeline froze. "How does Blake know?"

What did Vikram helping Luna have to do with Blake?

Vikram said, "You'll find out when we get to your place."

Vikram smiled and silently sped up.

Soon, they arrived at Blue Bay.

Vikram parked the car, opened the door, and walked in with Adeline, calling out loudly, "Blake, get down here! Help me explain to Adeline!"

Not long after Vikram's voice echoed, Lauren appeared at the second-floor railing.

Lauren blinked her big eyes at Vikram. "What do you need Blake for?"

Vikram said, "It's about why he made Mommy upset."

Blake's calm voice interrupted Lauren, "Go help Alice get the housekeepers to leave; we have important stuff to discuss."

Lauren pouted. "Okay."

With that, she ran over to Alice. "Alice, we need to get busy!"

Vikram watched as Blake easily managed Lauren and gave him a thumbs up. "You're impressive."

Blake struggled down the stairs with his laptop. "Of course. Without my help explaining to Mommy tonight, you wouldn't be able to clear things up."

Vikram scratched his head and laughed awkwardly. "That's true."

Seeing them talk about stuff she didn't get, Adeline couldn't help but frown. "What are you hiding from me?"

Hospital.

After putting Luna to sleep, Jasper had just stepped out of the ward when Ryan approached.

Ryan said, "Adeline did take Vikram to Blue Bay. Should I have someone keep an eye on them?"

Jasper frowned slightly.

After a moment, he shook his head. "No need. I'll go myself."
