Chapter 837 Also for This Dr. Ross
Clio's words made Adeline so excited that she almost jumped up!
She clasped her hands tightly together. "Dr. Ross, if my mom follows your treatment, how long will it take for her to wake up?"
If her mom could wake up, her dad's condition might improve too.
Once he got better, she could tell him everything Brandon and Daisy had done during this time, and he wouldn't be fooled by them like she had been.
Clio frowned as she examined Zara's back wound. "The time is uncertain, but it won't be more than two months. If she has a strong will to wake up, it could be as soon as a week."
She then pointed to Zara's back. "How did this happen?"
Adeline hesitated for a moment before explaining how Zara had been framed.
Clio smirked. "It seems like it's not very safe around here."
She packed up her medical kit and turned to Adeline with a serious expression. "My treatment must follow my methods precisely, with no mistakes or interruptions."
"Since it seems like there are troublemakers around here, I suggest moving the patient to Everglade City, to my research facility, where my students and I can personally oversee her care."
"You can visit, but there will be time restrictions."
Adeline froze.
Move Zara away?
She bit her lip, looking hesitant.
After all, she had only known Clio for a few minutes through Sebastian.
She trusted Sebastian, so she wanted to trust Clio too.
But what about the rest of the Phoebe family?
Oliver, Daisy.
Most importantly, Howard.
If he found out she wanted to send Zara away, he would go crazy!
"If you can't move the patient to my facility, I refuse to treat her," Clio stated bluntly.
"I can't treat a patient in such an unstable environment. If something goes wrong, it's not just about the patient not waking up; it would damage my reputation."
She even gave Sebastian a mocking glance. "You've been running around the world looking for a way to treat your friend's mother."
"It seems your friend doesn't appreciate it."
She glanced at her watch. "If I leave now, I can still catch the noon train home."
"I'm leaving."
With that, Clio grabbed her medical kit and headed for the door.
Sebastian quickly followed her. "Dr. Ross, please don't be angry."
"My friend must have her reasons. She needs to discuss where her mom goes with her family."
"Please don't leave!"
Adeline stood in the room, listening to Sebastian's pleading voice, her hands clenched tightly.
She looked at Zara lying on the bed.
Zara had been lying there for almost a year.
In that time, Howard had consulted many doctors, but none could help.
Now, Clio said her mom could definitely wake up, and it would take no more than two months!
Adeline bit her lip.
She wanted to try.
But she was also afraid to trust Clio so easily.
After some thought, she took out her phone.
She found Oliver's number but hesitated to call.
If Oliver knew or trusted Clio, he would have already sought her out, right?
Suddenly, Adeline thought of Oscar.
Oscar was from Everglade City.
And the Wheeler family had significant influence there. If Clio were really the legendary miracle doctor, Oscar would know!
Taking a deep breath, she hurried outside.
In the yard, Sebastian was holding Clio's arm, trying to convince her to stay.
Hearing Adeline's footsteps, Clio glanced at her coldly but said nothing.
"Dr. Ross," Adeline said, taking a deep breath and walking over. "Give me two hours to think it over."
"I need to discuss it with my family."
Clio gave her a cool look. "Okay, I'll give you time."
She then looked at Sebastian. "Remember, two paintings."
Sebastian nodded with a smile. "Of course, I won't go back on my word."
He turned to Adeline with a smile. "Go talk to your family."
Adeline nodded, called Linda to take care of the guests, and headed straight to Oscar's hospital.
But when she arrived, she found an unexpected visitor in Oscar's room.
Jasper.
He was negotiating with Oscar. "I saved your life. Helping me find a doctor isn't too much to ask, is it?"
Oscar smiled. "Mr. Foster went to see her himself six months ago, and she still refused."
"I may have some influence in Everglade City, but she's not one to be swayed by power. I can only try."
"Trying is enough," Jasper said, turning to look out the window. "You should head back this afternoon. Don't stay in Oceancrest City too long."
Oscar laughed. "Are you really afraid I'll steal Adeline from you?"
Jasper laughed too. "Whether you like women or not, Adeline is mine. No one can take her from me."
Adeline burst into the room just in time to hear Jasper's arrogant words.
She frowned. "Mr. Foster, you're very confident."
Both men turned to look at her.
Jasper frowned. "What are you doing here?"
Oscar had said she would visit in the afternoon.
"I'm here to see Mr. Wheeler," she said, giving Jasper a cold look. "If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have heard Mr. Foster's boastful words."
Jasper narrowed his eyes but said nothing.
Oscar tried to smooth things over. "I thought you'd come in the afternoon."
He noticed the sweat on her forehead. "Why the rush?"
"What's wrong?"
Adeline took a deep breath and glanced at Jasper. "I need to talk to Mr. Wheeler. Can you give us some privacy?"
"No," Jasper said, sitting down. "You didn't wait for privacy when you barged in on our conversation."
Adeline rolled her eyes.
Oscar smiled. "Go ahead. Mr. Foster isn't an outsider."
Adeline frowned.
Who said Jasper wasn't an outsider?
But she decided it didn't matter.
"Mr. Wheeler," she said, taking a deep breath and looking Oscar in the eye. "I heard there's a doctor in Everglade City who can wake up many coma patients. Do you know this doctor?"
Oscar was taken aback and instinctively looked at Jasper.
"Mr. Foster came to see me about Dr. Ross, too."
