Chapter 508 Can You Cook?
Lily said, "Alright, let's have Adeline over tonight."
Luna's suggestion was a no-brainer for Lily.
First off, Lily felt bad for Blake and Lauren. They'd always been with Adeline, and now Jasper had suddenly brought them to stay with Luna, who was sick.
Second, Lily wanted Luna to see what a real woman who could help Jasper with the kids looked like when Adeline came over.
"But," Blake, who had been quiet, frowned and glanced at Luna. "Luna, even though we miss Mommy, she probably wouldn't want to come here and see you with Daddy."
Lauren, standing next to him, nodded. "If you really feel bad for us being away from Mommy, then please convince Daddy to send us back to her."
The kids' words made Luna frown.
She sighed, looking all hurt. "It was Jasper's decision to have you stay here. I can't do anything if he doesn't let you go back to Adeline."
Lauren blinked her big, innocent eyes at Luna. "But aren't you Daddy's favorite now? When Daddy liked Stella, he always listened to her. Why doesn't he listen to you now?"
Blake sighed and looked at his sister, a bit helpless. "Lauren, stop talking. These are grown-up matters we don't understand."
Even after her brother's scolding, Lauren was still upset. "Why? It's clear Luna doesn't matter to Daddy. If Daddy really liked her, he'd listen to her."
Blake sighed again. "Alright, Lauren. Maybe Luna was just saying it casually and doesn't really feel bad for us being away from Mommy. Don't take it too seriously."
The kids' words made Luna feel embarrassed.
Luna's grip on her chopsticks tightened, her knuckles turning pale.
They were doing it on purpose, definitely on purpose! One mocked her importance to Jasper, and the other called out her hypocrisy!
Lily's face darkened as she heard Blake and Lauren.
Blake and Lauren were just six-year-old kids. Even they could see through Luna's act. Luna must've said a lot of bad things about her behind her back to the kids.
Thinking of this, Lily snorted. "If you really care about the kids, you should send them to Adeline instead of bringing her here to cause trouble."
Luna bit her lip, still trying to defend herself. "Grandma, it's not that I don't want Adeline with the kids. It's because Adeline has mental issues and might be violent towards them."
"Is it really a mental issue? The test results aren't out yet!" Lily slammed her fork on the table. "I can't eat anymore."
Lily said, "Blake, Lauren, let's go upstairs and continue with yesterday's design, okay?"
"Okay!" Lauren jumped off the chair with a smile and reached for Lily's hand.
Lily took the kids by the hand and led them upstairs.
Just as they reached the first step, Blake seemed to remember something and turned around. "But if we really can't go back to Mommy, it would make us happy if Luna could let us see her."
After saying that, Blake, Lauren, and Lily left hand in hand.
Luna stood there, watching their backs.
She had only thought of cooperating with Molly's plan to label Adeline as mentally ill and take her two kids away from her.
But she hadn't expected that after the kids came, Lily would also show up!
Lily had a quirky temperament and often spoke sarcastically. However, as Lily was Jasper's elder, he continually treated her with utmost respect.
As a result, Lily, Blake, and Lauren were now on the same side, and she had become the most bullied person in the house!
As she was thinking of this, a trace of malice appeared in Luna's eyes.
She narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists tightly at her sides.
Fortunately, she was prepared! Tonight, she would send Lily to the ICU!
As for the responsibility for harming Lily, Luna smirked coldly. She would definitely pin this on Adeline, whom Lily, Blake, and Lauren liked the most.
"Forget it." In the study, upon hearing that Luna planned to invite Adeline over, Jasper furrowed his brows slightly and shook his head. "You just hurt Adeline's friend last night. Why would she accept our invitation today?"
Luna pursed her lips. "But Blake and Lauren are here today."
"Besides," Luna sighed, her voice softening. "I also think I went too far yesterday. Violet only said a few harsh words, and I shouldn't have gotten so emotional and tried to kill myself. Luckily, Ethan stopped me. If he hadn't, I might already be dead."
As she spoke, Luna's voice carried a hint of sobbing. "Jasper, I also want to take this opportunity to apologize to Adeline and her friend. If Ethan's condition is serious, I can cover the medical expenses."
Jasper glanced at her with furrowed brows. "Do you really think that?"
"Yes!" Luna took a deep breath, as if making a firm decision. "Jasper, I've decided. Tonight, I must invite Adeline over! I not only want to apologize to her in person, but I also want to cook a big meal to make Blake, Lauren, and Grandma happy."
Jasper furrowed his brows, looking at Luna's confident expression, and a gentle smile appeared on his lips. "It's good that you understand. But..."
Jasper smirked. "Can you cook?"
Luna nervously lowered her eyes. "Although I'm not very skilled, I can definitely do it. Besides, isn't Adeline here?"
She looked up, smiling at Jasper. "Blake and Lauren must miss Adeline's cooking. I can ask Adeline for help, and we can cook a meal together. After this meal, I'll sincerely apologize to Adeline. If she forgives me, even if I die from my illness tonight, I won't have any regrets!"
