Chapter 834 Let Me Marry Brandon Smoothly
Daisy mentioning Brandon saving Adeline was a mistake. As soon as she brought it up, Adeline's eyes narrowed instinctively.
Ever since she found out that Brandon had deliberately disfigured her face and intended to use her, she had been dying to know one thing.
She walked slowly to Daisy's side. "Answer a few questions for me first."
Seeing Adeline's softened attitude, Daisy eagerly nodded. "Ask away! I'll tell you everything I know!"
Adeline's eyes narrowed further. "I've always wondered, was it really a coincidence that Brandon saved me back then, or was it premeditated?"
Adeline used to trust Brandon completely, never questioning his motives. She believed he had just happened to be sailing during a storm and coincidentally rescued her.
She had even taught her three children that Brandon was the kindest person in the world and that they should learn from him.
But now, after seeing Brandon's true colors, she couldn't help but think that the whole thing might not have been a coincidence.
After all, according to the timeline, Brandon was already engaged to Daisy when he saved her.
He got engaged to Daisy, then orchestrated a plan to save Adeline, using it as an excuse to break off his engagement with Daisy and keep Adeline by his side after reconstructive surgery.
It all seemed like something Brandon would do.
Daisy trembled as she knelt on the ground.
She didn't want to say anything.
After all, if Adeline found out that she and Molly had plotted against her, she might get even angrier.
If Adeline got mad and didn't withdraw the police report...
"Speak up."
Seeing how seriously Adeline took this matter, Oliver frowned and spoke coldly, "If you don't talk, do you believe I'll call the police right now?"
"I still have the phone from yesterday, and I recorded the conversation!"
"I'll talk, I'll talk!"
Oliver's threat made Daisy cave instantly.
She was getting married tomorrow.
Once the wedding ceremony was over, she would officially be part of the Torres family, and no matter what happened, the Torres family would have to protect her.
So she couldn't afford any mistakes today!
With that in mind, she quickly lowered her head and began to speak, trembling:
"It was premeditated."
Her voice shook. "Actually, six years ago, I found out I wasn't really part of the Phoebe family. I investigated and discovered that Daniel had secretly switched the babies."
"I even went to Neon City to meet them. I didn't like Daniel and Helen, but Molly and I hit it off immediately, and we became close."
"Molly said she was fed up with you because you were always better than her. So she wanted to get rid of you, Adeline, for both our sakes."
As she spoke, Daisy kept her head down, not daring to look up. "After I got engaged to Brandon, we often met up."
"One time, when I was advising Molly not to act rashly, Brandon overheard."
"After learning the whole story, he supported Molly and secretly went to Radiance Springs to save you, then came back and broke off our engagement."
Finally, Daisy let out a long breath and cautiously looked up at Adeline:
"I didn't get involved from start to finish. It was all Molly and Brandon's plan."
Her words made Adeline laugh bitterly.
She had already guessed most of what Daisy said.
But hearing someone else confirm Brandon's hypocrisy still left her with a faint hope.
She hoped she hadn't misjudged him, that Brandon had some humanity left.
At least, she hoped he had genuinely saved her and the children back then.
Now it all seemed like a joke.
A man as ruthless and calculating as Brandon couldn't possibly be kind.
After Daisy finished speaking, Oliver frowned. "If Brandon intended to use Adeline from the start, why help her have three children and take care of them?"
"Because of the children."
"Their father is Jasper, the heir to the Foster family."
"Their mother is Adeline, the future heir to the Phoebe family."
"Brandon thought that by controlling these three children, he could manipulate both the Foster and Phoebe families."
Those words made Adeline's heart turn cold.
Brandon had calculated every step.
"Adeline."
After answering all of Adeline and Oliver's questions, Daisy bit her lip:
"I've told you everything you wanted to know. Can you...?"
Adeline's lips curled into a smile. "Did I say I agreed to your conditions?"
One sentence made Daisy's eyes widen in shock. "You're playing me?"
"Smart." Adeline leaned comfortably against the car door.
She looked down at Daisy, who was kneeling on the ground with hatred in her eyes, and smiled coldly. "You've played me plenty of times."
"What, you can't handle it when I play you once?"
Daisy's eyes narrowed. "Then, at least go to the police station and withdraw the report. Don't let them arrest me today."
All she wanted was to marry into the Torres family smoothly.
Adeline hadn't actually filed a report and didn't plan to.
This was something she and Oliver had discussed on the way.
Firstly, they didn't want to stress Howard, who was already in the hospital.
Secondly, they knew Daisy had committed more crimes, so they needed time to gather all the evidence.
But even with this plan, Adeline didn't tell Daisy.
She just looked at Daisy indifferently. "Do you think I'll agree to your request?"
With that, she walked past Daisy and headed into the yard. "Instead of kneeling here and apologizing, you should reflect on yourself."
Daisy bit her lip, watching Adeline's graceful figure, her hands clenched into fists at her sides.
After all that, Adeline still wouldn't let her off?
No matter!
She had one last card to play!
Taking a deep breath, she called out to Adeline's retreating figure. "Adeline, I know who dug up your child's grave under the cherry blossom tree."
"If you promise not to call the police and let me marry Brandon smoothly, I'll tell you who dug up your child's body!"
Adeline's steps came to an abrupt halt.
