Chapter 21 Apply Medicine
Adeline quickly pulled Lauren over and lifted her chin.
Her daughter's face was pale without a trace of color.
Her eyes were tightly closed, as if she were asleep.
With Adeline's movement, the little girl's hand weakly hung down...
"Lauren? Lauren!"
A sense of inexplicable fear enveloped Adeline as she held onto Lauren's body like a madwoman. "Lauren, wake up!"
"We're about to be rescued!"
"Lauren—!"
"What's wrong with Lauren?"
Just as Adeline was nearing a breakdown, a large hand grabbed the outside of the carriage.
A slightly sweaty Jasper grabbed the handrail, his tall figure directly entering the carriage.
Despite being exhausted and sweating, he immediately took Lauren into his arms, his deep voice filled with concern. "What's wrong with her?"
Adeline lifted her head and looked at Jasper's face.
A surge of anger and grief rose deep within Adeline.
"You're asking me what's wrong with her?"
A bloodthirsty smile crept onto Adeline's lips. "If it weren't for you insisting on fostering a relationship between Lauren and Molly, would Lauren be like this?"
Adeline narrowed her eyes and forcefully pulled Lauren away from his embrace.
"If Lauren dies today, you can forget about living!"
On such a high Ferris wheel, it would be enough for Jasper to die without a complete corpse!
With that, she stared coldly at Jasper, step by step walking towards him—
Just after climbing nearly a hundred meters in height, Jasper, with one hand gripping the railing, frowned deeply. "What are you trying to do?"
"I want you to accompany Lauren in death! Die with Lauren!"
Hatred was written all over Adeline's face!
Six years ago, Jasper and Molly conspired to put her and her unborn child in a desperate situation.
Six years later, Jasper allowed Molly to harm Lauren!
The Ferris wheel breaking down when she and Lauren were at the very top was no accident; it was all Molly's scheme!
What's the point of him climbing up now!
"What nonsense are you talking about!"
Jasper finally realized that this woman's emotions were off, lowering his voice. "How could Lauren possibly die?"
"Why not?"
Every word from Adeline seemed to be squeezed out from between her teeth. "Lauren is naturally weak and timid."
"At such a height, with the carriage tilting, physical exhaustion, and being terrified, can a six-year-old child endure it?"
Jasper's eyes suddenly froze.
Instinctively, he glanced at the pale-faced, tightly closed-eyed little girl behind Adeline.
Jasper's heart sank heavily.
"She won't."
Jasper seemed to be telling Adeline, and perhaps himself, "Laura just fainted, that's all."
"It's too late."
Tears uncontrollably streamed down, Adeline lifted her head, her eyes filled with hatred glaring at Jasper.
The current Jasper, exhausted, was no match for her at all!
It's over, he's dead, and everything will be over!
Adeline walked up to Jasper, forcefully pushing him towards the outside of the carriage—
"Don't..."
As Adeline's hand touched Jasper's body, a weak voice came from behind her, "Don't..."
Adeline's hand abruptly stopped.
She turned back in surprise, gently holding Lauren's small body in her arms. "Lauren! How are you feeling?"
"I'm a little uncomfortable."
Lauren grabbed Adeline's arm, silently shaking her head.
In a low voice, Lauren leaned close to Adeline's ear, "Blake is still waiting for us to save him."
"I understand."
Adeline tightly embraced her, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face. "I was wrong, I was wrong."
"You're okay..."
Excited, Adeline had completely forgotten that there was a breathless Jasper inside the carriage.
Wiping the sweat off his forehead, Jasper watched Adeline holding Lauren, his deep eyes seemingly bottomless.
If Jasper didn't know that Lauren was Adeline's child, he might even think that this Adeline was Lauren's biological mother.
Her concern and care for Lauren were sincere, without any ulterior motives.
In the control room of the amusement park.
From the necklace on Bennett's chest came the sound of Blake letting out a long breath, "Bennett, do as I say now."
"To your right, there's a lever, see it?"
"Mm."
Bennett took a deep breath, found the lever, and just as he moved it, the control room's door was suddenly kicked open!
"What are you doing!"
Ryan rushed up in a single stride, grabbing Bennett by the back of his collar, lifting him up. "No wonder the Ferris wheel malfunctioned, it was you causing trouble!"
"Do you know lives are at stake outside!"
Ryan was furious, throwing Bennett onto the nearby sofa, personally forcefully twisting back the lever that Bennett had moved.
The Ferris wheel carriage suddenly tilted again.
Standing at the door, Jasper's body wavered, and he instantly plummeted from the height.
