Chapter 682 Molly Still Alive
The Foster family Mansion.
Larry was directing the staff as they set up the venue.
Another truckload of white flowers had just arrived.
A female driver, wearing a baseball cap and a mask, got out of the truck and handed the delivery receipt to Larry.
Larry glanced at it briefly, then while assigning staff to count the flowers, he frowned at the driver. "Why are you dressed like that?"
The driver lowered her voice and coughed lightly. "I have a bit of a cold."
"I heard a lot of people will be attending the memorial service. It wouldn't be good to spread it around."
Hearing this, Larry instinctively retreated to maintain a safe distance.
Once the staff finished counting, Larry signed the receipt and handed the driver a financial slip, instructing her to go to the backyard to collect payment from the finance team.
Holding the slip, Molly, still wearing her mask and cap, turned coldly and entered the Foster family Mansion.
The finance team was located in the backyard.
She navigated through the living room, where the memorial service was being set up, and headed to the backyard.
As soon as she entered, she saw Jasper and Adeline.
She quickly hid in a corner of the corridor, holding her breath.
At that moment, Jasper was gently tapping Adeline's nose with a helpless smile. "Since you're pregnant, you shouldn't be running around. Take care of yourself. You've been through enough already."
Previously, when she pretended to be sick to help Lily get the antidote, the medicine Sharon gave her had already taken a toll on her body.
Sharon had specifically instructed her to rest and recover after the act.
But before she could rest, Lily fell seriously ill.
Adeline then spent days and nights in the workshop, making jewelry for Lily by hand.
Later, she was imprisoned and discovered she was pregnant. He really thought she needed a good rest.
Adeline gently shook her head. "I want to see Grandma off one last time. Like you said, Grandma has passed away, and we can't change that. But we can still give her a proper memorial service."
Jasper sighed, caressing her soft lips. "Larry and Ryan are handling the memorial service. Don't worry."
He kissed her forehead. "Let the driver take you home to rest. I'll come back later."
Adeline raised an eyebrow, glancing at the darkening sky. "You still have more to do?"
"Yes," Jasper chuckled. "But not here. Nathan has confessed that he did all this with Molly's help."
Jasper's words left Adeline stunned.
Adeline looked at him, puzzled. "Molly... is still alive?"
"Yes." Jasper stood up, looking at the calm lake in the distance, a cold glint in his eyes. "When she jumped off the bridge, I knew she was a good swimmer. I was afraid someone might rescue her, so I had people guard the shore, not allowing any boats for a day."
"But..." He smiled bitterly. "Nathan threated the guards and rescued Molly. He never took any responsibility for me and always stabbed me in the back."
He turned around. "But at least he revealed Molly's hiding place. I'm taking people to find her later."
Adeline paused, then nodded heavily. "Be careful."
Jasper smiled and helped her up from the chair. "You take the kids home to rest. I suspect Molly will try to escape when she hears about Nathan's imprisonment. But the place is deserted. She won't get far. It might take some time to catch her, so don't wait up for me tonight."
Adeline nodded and stood up, supported by Jasper as they walked out.
It was already late.
Larry, after receiving the last truckload of white flowers, noticed that one of the earlier delivery trucks was still there.
Had the driver not found the finance team yet?
He handed his tasks to a nearby staff member and went to look for her himself.
This driver frequently delivered flowers to the Foster family Mansion, and everyone was familiar with her. How could she be lost today?
Larry entered the backyard corridor and immediately saw the woman in the corner.
He frowned and tapped Molly on the shoulder. "What are you doing sneaking around here?"
Larry's voice was loud enough that Jasper and Adeline, who were about to leave, heard it.
Jasper turned around, alert.
In the corner, Larry was scolding a woman. "You've been here so many times. What are you doing here? Why aren't you getting your payment?"
Molly kept her head down, her voice hoarse. "I got a bit lost. The decorations are different today."
Larry rolled his eyes and led the way. "We just added some memorial service decorations. You got lost because of that? If you weren't a long-time partner of the Foster family, I'd think you were a spy!"
Larry's words made Molly stiffen slightly.
After a moment, she forced a smile. "Of course not. I might have a fever and got confused, so I didn't recognize the way."
Larry continued to scold her as he led her to the financial team.
As they passed, Larry respectfully greeted Jasper and Adeline. "Mr. Foster, Mrs. Foster."
Then he turned back to the woman behind him. "Remember these two. They're the new owners of this mansion. This is Mr. Foster, and this is Mrs. Foster."
Molly kept her head down, feeling the proximity of them, her eyes filled with cold hatred.
Her hands clenched into fists at her sides.
If she hadn't heard Jasper say he was sending Adeline home and going to find her himself, she would have taken the flower shears in her pocket and stabbed Adeline in the throat right then!
But she had to hold back, speaking in the hoarsest, lowest voice she could muster. "Mr. Foster, Mrs. Foster, hello."
Then she turned and followed Larry towards the backyard.
Jasper stood still, watching the woman's retreating figure and her tightly clenched fists, his brow furrowing deeply.
"Wait."
