Chapter 790 Quickly Bring the Child Over!

"Adeline and Brandon called off their engagement?"

Jasper furrowed his brows, looking seriously at Ryan.

"What happened?"

"I'm not entirely sure, but it seems... Brandon from the Torres Family hooked up with Daisy from the Phoebe Family."

"Mrs. Torres was upset, so they called off the engagement."

"But now Brandon's engaged to Daisy, so the alliance between the Torres and Phoebe families is still on."

Jasper squinted his eyes. "When did this happen?"

"This morning!"

This morning? Jasper froze.

So, Adeline didn't come to see the kids because she was dealing with the engagement?

After a moment of silence, Jasper quickly spoke up, "Drive, catch up to Oliver's car!"

The car started up quickly.

As they sped out of the parking lot, Oliver's car hadn't gone far.

The driver floored it, chasing after them.

Just then, Jasper's phone rang.

It was Mia.

"Stop chasing." She sniffled, glancing at Adeline beside her, who was silent with red-rimmed eyes.

"Adeline won't see you."

"Calling off the engagement was because she was disappointed in Brandon, it has nothing to do with you. Don't flatter yourself."

"Even if Adeline called off the engagement, she's still a daughter of the Phoebe Family."

"Your Foster Family once caused her uncle's death and repeatedly pushed the Phoebe Family to the brink. There's no way for you two."

"Let it go."

With that, Mia hung up.

Putting down her phone, Mia silently held Adeline's hand. "There, I said it all for you."

Adeline closed her eyes, sniffled, and glanced at the man in the passenger seat.

"Oliver, I swore to my dad that I would never see Jasper again."

"But..." She sniffled again. "I'm a bit scared, so I want to leave the Phoebe Mansion and find a quiet place to wait for the baby."

Oliver paused, then nodded. "Alright, I'll arrange it."

"After what happened last night, Dad won't object to you moving out."

Adeline closed her eyes and nodded heavily.

The car sped on.

In the car behind, Jasper clutched his phone, listening to the dial tone.

He had so much to say.

But they wouldn't give him the chance.

Just then, they reached a traffic light, and Oliver's car sped away while Jasper's was stopped by the red light.

The driver angrily pounded the steering wheel. "So close, just a bit more!"

"It's all my fault!"

He glanced at Jasper.

"Mr. Foster, I'm sorry. But I promise, I'll catch up..."

"No need."

Jasper looked at the distant car, a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"Take me back to Swan Villa."

Ryan hesitated, looking at Jasper.

"Mr. Foster... really not chasing?"

"Yes."

Jasper closed his eyes, rubbing his temples, a bitter smile on his lips.

"She said it herself, calling off the engagement wasn't for me. If I catch up, what can I do besides humiliate myself?"

He sighed. "David, drinks tonight?"

David, in the passenger seat, laughed. "Sure, but I doubt you'll drink much."

The man in the backseat smirked. "As long as you're game, I'll drink as much as you want."

Ryan bit his lip, worriedly glancing at Jasper, wanting to say something but staying silent.

Jasper's stomach wasn't good.

He had promised Adeline he wouldn't drink again.

But now... Ryan knew he had no say, so he secretly signaled David to go easy on the drinks.

Night fell quickly.

That night, Jasper felt the familiar pain in his stomach and was taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a van quietly left the Phoebe Mansion.

Eight months later.

In a small, brightly lit house on the outskirts of Oceancrest City, Adeline lay on the bed, drenched in sweat.

She gripped the sheets tightly, her face pale.

"Come on, the baby is almost here!"

The doctor encouraged her.

Adeline was in so much pain she was nearly in tears.

Her first pregnancy, with triplets, had been a C-section.

This time, she wanted a natural birth, and the doctor had said it was possible.

But she hadn't expected it to be so exhausting and painful!

She bit down hard, using her last bit of strength, finally hearing the doctor's excited voice.

"It's out! The baby is out!"

With the doctor's words came the loud cry of a newborn.

The cry was like a sedative, relaxing Adeline.

She finally closed her eyes in exhaustion.

The baby was born safely... it sounded healthy.

She smiled bitterly, closing her eyes.

Finally... no more worrying... but Adeline didn't expect that after she fell asleep from exhaustion, the door opened, and a man stood outside.

The man outside was holding a newborn baby.

The doctor quickly placed the baby in the man's arms, taking the stillborn in exchange, whispering.

"Mr. Randy Torres, this is the first time I've done something like this."

"The agreed $200,000, not a penny less!"

Randy cradled the baby carefully, sneering.

"Do you think I'd shortchange you?"

"When she wakes up, make sure everything looks right. If she suspects anything, I'll have your head!"

The doctor nodded quickly. "Don't worry, don't worry!"

Randy glanced into the room, seeing Adeline asleep, drenched in sweat. He sneered, carrying the baby out to the car.

In the night, the car sped towards downtown Oceancrest City.

Not far from Adeline's house, Randy's car collided with a van.

The impact made Randy curse. He was about to get out and argue when several men in black surrounded his car.

"Hand over the baby."

Randy was stunned, raising an eyebrow.

"Are you Jasper's men?"

The man in black sneered.

"Who's Jasper?"

He opened the car door, taking the baby from the backseat.

Randy, with a knife to his throat, didn't dare breathe.

The man in black took the baby to the van and drove off.

Randy, sweating, sat in the driver's seat.

The baby was taken... how would he explain to Brandon?

Just then, his phone rang. It was Brandon.

"How much longer? Hurry up!"

"Daisy can't keep up the act, bring the baby over now!"

Randy, drenched in sweat, stammered.

"Okay... right away!"
