Chapter 872 Can I Finally Go Home?
"Mr. Randy Torres, you're a suspect in a murder case. We need you to come with us."
The police officer stood at the door, flashing his badge with a stern look.
Randy froze.
What the hell was going on?
They had managed to shake off the cops and hide him in this secluded basement.
This place was so hidden, even the police would need time to find him.
How did they locate him so quickly?
Seeing the confusion in his eyes, the officer smirked. "Someone saw you sneaking into the basement earlier."
"We got a tip and checked the surveillance footage. It was you."
With that, there was a click, and cold handcuffs snapped onto Randy's wrists. "Let's go."
Randy bit his lip as he was led away by the police. As they reached the entrance of the complex, he saw the two men who had come to rescue him.
They were indeed carrying a large bag of personal toiletries.
Randy sighed, giving them a meaningful look before turning to be escorted into the police car.
The two men stood there, watching the police car drive away with Randy inside. They exchanged a glance and pulled out their phones.
"Ms. Bailey, everything went according to plan."
"Randy totally believes we're Jasper's men."
"Good."
On the other end of the line, a woman's voice was slightly raspy.
"Any other useful information?"
"Yeah."
The man in black took a deep breath.
"Randy told us to inform Jasper that the child who died wasn't his and Adeline's biological child."
"He also said that Brandon was the one who orchestrated the switch."
Tamsin's eyes narrowed slightly on the other end of the call.
"Alright, I understand."
"I'll transfer the promised money to you without a hitch."
"But don't mention the child-switching incident to anyone else."
"Got it."
After hanging up, Tamsin took a deep breath and sat by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the scenery outside with a faint smile.
She not only wanted Adeline out of prison quickly but also wanted to deepen Adeline's hatred for Jasper.
Adeline was just a jewelry designer; she didn't understand the business world's schemes and intrigues, nor did she know how to run the Phoebe Group.
She wanted Adeline to become her puppet, completely under her control.
When the time came, she would help Adeline restore the Phoebe Group.
Even Howard and Zara would have to show her respect.
She couldn't believe that after doing so much for the Phoebe family, Oliver would still hold a grudge against her for what happened years ago.
Thinking of this, she narrowed her eyes, picked up the wine glass beside her, and downed the red wine in one gulp.
Oliver would be hers, sooner or later.
As for Adeline's friend...
Did she really think any woman could be her rival?
After Randy was caught, the police interrogated him overnight.
Unfortunately, no matter how much they pressured him, Randy refused to admit he killed Giselle.
He only admitted to meeting Giselle at the wedding venue, arranging to meet on the balcony, and after their encounter, he left immediately. He claimed to know nothing else.
Even when the police matched Randy's fingerprints to the murder weapon, he stubbornly denied it.
He even had the nerve to demand, "I won't say anything until I see my grandmother."
The captain was frustrated, slamming files in his office.
He knew Randy was waiting for Fiona to find a way to bail him out.
However, since Randy's arrest yesterday, no one from the Torres family had shown any concern for him.
When reporters interviewed the Torres family butler about Randy's murder case, the butler claimed Randy had long been estranged from the Torres Villa, and they knew nothing about it.
Yet Randy had been in and out of the Torres Villa the day before his arrest.
Thinking about this, the captain felt a bit sorry for Randy.
He sighed and instructed his team to call Fiona from the Torres family, asking her to visit Randy at the police station.
"I'm not going to see that worthless piece of trash."
After the butler reported the police's request, Fiona sneered, leaning back on the sofa with a cold smile.
"A worthless person is always worthless!"
"I told him to kill that woman to cause a rift between Jasper and Adeline."
"I warned him repeatedly not to leave any traces at the scene, but what did he do?"
"Not only did he leave a fingerprint, but he couldn't resist her beauty and did that to her!"
Thinking about this, Fiona's anger flared.
She furiously smashed a coffee cup on the table.
"All of them are worthless!"
Brandon was worthless, and Randy was worthless too!
The butler lowered his head and spoke softly.
"But ma'am, the police called. I think you should go and deal with it."
"It's not wise to offend the police."
Fiona rolled her eyes. "Contact Brandon, give him a million dollars, and have him go!"
The butler hesitated, then quickly nodded. "Alright, I'll do it."
He turned to leave, but Fiona called him back.
"I'm getting old and need someone capable by my side."
"I've kicked Brandon out, and I don't plan to let him return so soon."
"Randy is now a discarded pawn, likely to spend the rest of his life in prison."
"You... contact Kurt Lowe and have him come back to help me."
The butler was silent for a moment.
"But ma'am, Kurt has a murder case hanging over him. If..."
Fiona shot him a cold look.
"Esther and Wilford have been dead for how many years now?"
"They couldn't prove Kurt did it back then, and they won't be able to now."
"Bring him back."
Fiona closed her eyes, her face showing exhaustion.
"It's been so many years. I wonder how he's doing now."
"My own son, my own grandson... none of them compare to my friend's child. Back then..."
Back then, Kurt was her right-hand man, doing whatever she asked.
Whether it was violently forcing Esther, killing Esther, or running over Wilford with a car.
He did everything cleanly and efficiently.
In contrast, Brandon, Randy, and the wandering Leo were all disappointments.
One was worse than the other.
The butler left the room, first contacting Brandon to visit Randy, then calling Kurt.
The phone was quickly answered.
A man's cold, grim voice came from the other end.
"After all these years, I can finally come home?"
